Well, it's not official yet and generally they start back the Wednesday after labor day . . . but there is construction going on at their school and I was told by the head of the board of trustees that she thought they would have to start back later, perhaps the Monday after Labor day . . . that was all it took for me to book it! I will be very happy if it turns out to be true when the schedule for next year is released. Until then I am trying not to think that much about it for fear of being disappointed.

I'm pretty sure some other people on this thread are staying for the 5 night after the repo . . .

Same here.........I already feel guilty because Brooke will be missing the first couple of days of school.


Chuck just called and is on his way home. I probaly will be sleeping most of day and he will take over caring for Brooke.

... < ah-h-h-h-h-h > .... I must PROTEST! At least ONE of my postings during that insane hour of fluff was a REAL posting. As were all the "wench distractions" and "funny intentions" images... as well as the congratulatory 1000th posting image I custom modified for MKYGRL. Those are most decidedly NOT fluff... Now as for the actual images of "fluff" posted by some - THOSE are fluff and POTENTIALLY legitimate ... And BTW.... what's wrong with a little fluff every now and then. Especially seein' as it's getting a bit cooler in most parts? A little fluff can warm the body as well as the soul... so I say - bring on MORE FLUFF!

OK... time to stop before this fluff thing gets...

Same here Julie/Andrew... we're possibly missing 2 days of school with the Aug cruise - so we are unlikely to extend the trip. Besides - we are traveling with so many people in our party that we're gonna probably go with the greatest concentration - possibly staying just one extra day to attend WDW before we jet home to start school THREE days late.

SO - todays final soccer game was a nail biter! We were leading 3 to 1 going into the 2nd half - when the opposition shifted their best players forward - whom I had to caution several times against using hands, pushing and fouling. however, seeing as it is designed as a friendly game with game flow as the highest consideration... I allowed both teams a certain amount of friendly "nudging" as usual. THe game ended in favor of our opponents - but our girls did not care much as we all had a fun time.

So that's it - the AYSO soccer season is done for now...

All in good fun. I actually enjoy reading the posts during the pirate run. People banter so quickly that you can see how witty & funny they are.

This morning I banished the boys from the house so I could "get the house straightened" they caught me DISing.

But really, over 300 posts... your computers must have been smokin'

For those whose kiddies may be missing the first few days of school make sure you notify the school at the end of this school year. I know at our school on the 3rd day missed we drop them from the school. Beats having the hassel of reregistering them again.

Now this was REALLY your wedding cake?!?! They're wonderfully extraordinary! Wow... I'm so impressed with the Mickey and Minnie cake! May I ask how they finished them? Well - what I mean to say is - were they a particular flavorof filling? And were these made by a Disney bakery of some kind? I can;'t quite tell from the background whether this was takn on the MAGIC or Wonder - as we don't get into Palos' very often... and it looks as if the background MIGHT have been Palos'???

When I booked this cruise I didn't know if the kids would miss a day or two, it was a gamble, but felt even though they have been before its very educational and worth it.

Lucky, they moved it back to the 3rd, so they will not miss anything, but they may fall asleep in class, due to still being on USA time.

Glad football went well.

The Delinquent Wenches and Swabbies gathered generated about 329 posts in precisely an hour (one every 10.92 seconds) - and it took just 1 hour plus 1 minute to put up the 335 postings necessary to achieve 80,000 postings. and no - the computers were not smoking... but I was getting a little crosseyed from searching quickly for images and speeding through modifying the congratulatory image for MKYGRLs' 1000th posting!

And - of course - I was slowed by the constant chuckling in that hour!

OK... time to run ...

... we have a birthday party with one of Julianna's very best friends - her dearest pal from pre-school! So it's gonna be a long party followed by an early evening at thier home afterwards. Then tomorrow we're off for Disneyland to meet 2 other families and to convert our hoppers to annual passes! We're bringing the other two families in with our hoppers then using them to convert to our annual passes...

Thanks again Monica! we're helping old friends who are a bit tight on funds so they can go to Disneyland - and we have one spare childs pass from the other pair we got off ebay... and that one is bringing one of Juliannas' girlfriends to Disneyland. Her mom is paying her way in most likely (if she comes tomorrow). So... everything is going to good use!

I have it booked but not sure if I will be able to make it. Chris and Todd also have it booked. And I believe there were a few more.

I've already talked to my son's attendance office since he will miss a whole week. They said to mail a letter in July stating we will be out of the country for a family emergency. They said to state it that way so they can excuse it since the district frowns upon taking students out for vacation.

Have to have a ''fix' of sugar and entertainment to avoid depression!

A few years back we went to Florida at half term in October each year for two weeks, the weather is great, the Halloween parties are on, less people in parks.

The kids had six days off school so they were off four days, I told them in advance.

I had a terrible note on the return saying I would be reported to the attendance manager at the local council and if they though fit social services! A bit of overkill as apart from that both kids had 100% attendance.

I moved to August holidays!

Interesting.

On the last Panama E/bound ( learning from the W/bound) you had a sheet in the stateroom and could order a full set or the ones you wanted plus a giant one. Then collected later ( from where Ocean quest is now).

On the Med they didn't do this, I asked for a full set, but you had to go to the shops and pick the ones you want, they said it gives people the option of leaving some out if you wanted.

You did get a bonus one if you purchased every one of them.

It will be nice to see them and I still have the 05 ones including Cabo even though we didn't make it.
