We took Angelina to the Massage Therapy School last evening that she plans on attending next year. While she was there, she was given a "free" one hour massage(lucky girl). Angelina was even more excited about attending this school by the time we left. The people there are very nice. The classes are small, no more than 12 students per class. Angelina is signed up to start in August 2008, so I guess it was a good thing we canceled the PC Repo afterall, since the class would have started while we were away.

Andy,

I didn't know Angelina was going to go to massage therapy school. My neice Jaclyn( Doreen's daughter) is attending The Fingers Lakes School Of Massage in Ithaca, NY. It is about 1-1/2 hours from Syracuse so she gets to come home on the weekend. She loves it there and I have been told she is doing very well there. She will graduate in December of this year. What is the name of the school she is interested in.

Monica,

You and your son are in my prayers & thoughts. :grouphug:

My dad is having his first procedure done this Friday. This procedure will help with the jaundice he has and next week he will have the biopsy done(he has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer). We hope and pray that the tumor is benign.

Hi Karen, Angelina will be attending the Gloucester County School of Massage Therapy, it is about 20 minutes from our house. She can either attend day classes 9:30-2:30 or evening classes 5:15-10:15, the class will run for six months.

We will keep you dad in our thoughts and prayers, thanks for the update.

Oh looky, my countdown clock has moved down to just 30 days remaining before our Fall Getaway!!!!! :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

I bought a pair of pirate boots that smell like cheap plastic so bad they literally made me nauseous & they weren't inexpensive! :sad2:

We got DH his from Spirit Halloween (online) at the end of last season for 50% off.
(only $15). They don't have the larger cuff but aren't that bad of a quality.

I see they have the wide cuff ones now and am hoping for the same sale this year.

By the way i still have a pair of boots (never worn) i'm offering for free for anyone whose DH might wear a 13/14. They sent these too big the first time and we reordered smaller ones.

They currently have 76,436. We should take them this week.

Hey Roger... Be careful throwing the "they" term around..... Some of us were part of that group..... Although their posting has slowed considerably since the trip last year...

I just found this as one of the new giveaways for the extension of Year of a Million Dreams. Next year there will be tethered hot air balloon rides over Disneyland.

Awww heck no!!!!! I've always been deathly scared of those things. Celestine can have my ride if they try to give it to our family....

BTW.... I've been busy researching a pattern for my Giselle dress for TOAL. I'll probably have to suck up to my mom to sew it.

Right now i've come across two Butterick patterns that look promising. (Well, that and i've got a hot lead on someone (surprisingly through someone i know in LA from my surgical online group) whose spouse may have access to the actual creators of the dress, gotta touch base with that person to see if i can locate swatches/origins of the fabric/trims.)

Let me take a vote: Which one seems more close?

This one:

or this one.....

My vote is almost with the second one..(shown as red) and even if i don't get actual fabrics i've seem some really close doable fabrics.....

The worst problem i have is leaving enough time for mom to create it but making it late enough in the spring/summer so that the sizing will be good.

I might have to even buy two sets of patterns for sizes (cause when they go on sale they're pretty cheap) due to my shrinkage.... They patterns break between 14 and a 12 and while i'd love to be in the smaller size one...not sure how that will all pan out....

Maybe we should get everyone on the thread to write a letter or e-mail asking them to hook her up with this.....

Use that 'pirate: Power'

Celestine you were asking about hot air balloons rides next year. Well I found the ultimate one for you. I just found this as one of the new giveaways for the extension of Year of a Million Dreams. Here are the dimensions.

 I have been thinking of another sea day activity when Mike brought up the Hawaiian shirt contest. Last Christmas, I made pirate maps up with clues on each and hid them around the house. Each map had a clue to where the next map was located. The final prize was a small treasure chest with our tickets to WDW/Wonder trip this summer. The girls thought this was the greatest gift ever, not the trip but the scavenger hunt.

Could we plan our own Pirate Scavenger Hunt on a sea day? Maybe with teams and maps (clues) to where the next map or item was located? With the whole ship at our disposal it could be a lot of fun. I know DCL has there own scavenger hunt, but we could put a pirate twist to it. All of you creative pirates out there can come up with some more ideas for this. :confused3 I would be happy to make the maps before we leave.

I love scavenger hunts. Sounds great

Have you all seen this?

Maybe DCL will head to Hawaii some time soon.:wizard:

I vote for the second one too not that it makes a diiference.:goodvibes I think the sleeves would drive me crazy on the first pattern.:scared:

Cut the pattern in the larger size, do the skirts, but don't attach the waistband. That way most of the work is done, but you can re-size it close to the trip. Another option is to cut the bodice in the smaller version and lace it up the back and use a placket under the laces if it won't close all the way...

Just my $0.02

HMMMM so if i understand correctly.... If i get all the fabric and stuff and mail it all to your house by May 31st....

it should be all set for August, right....?

;) (just kidding but you'd do it for the right price?)
