I hesitate to post this here, mainly because I hate bringing this thread down & you are all having such fun, but since I did let you all know that I had to fly down to Florida as soon as we got back from HHI, because my mother had yet another blockage in her heart & I think it's only fair I keep you updated. We since found out it she was inoperable due to her age (77), emphazema, etc. & unfortunately she passed away yesterday. I am truly okay & at peace, especially since I got to say my goodbyes a few weeks ago. The last time I spoke with her was on was fittingly on Mother's Day. She is in a way better place than she had been in a very long time & truly she kept saying she was tired & she just wanted to go. She was back & forth from a rehab hospital to a regular hospital. She was on her death bed one minute & fine the next. :confused3 She went back in the hospital Sunday due to congestive heart failure. They had her sitting in the chair yesterday & she asked to lay down because she was not feeling well & she died shortly after. The nurses say she passed peacefully. She is to be cremated & her remains sent up here for burial with my father. We are hoping for a graveside service next weekend so I probably won't be on much next week. But really I am fine & in fact had posted as usual yesterday, shortly after finding out. I was enjoying all the POC intrigue & didn't want to interrupt. ;)

How funny...

... when your post said "BAM"... I briefly thought about an early "version" of my secret recipie for clam sauce. It used to generate immediate and volumous GAS! "BAM" :woohoo:

fire%20fart.gif

Without the flames....

<chuckles>

and I do use tons and tons of garlic now. Ummmm....

I think I'll go make some clam sauce NOW!

You have a firestation next door. Yes?

Well, this was DiGiorno® Harvest Wheat Crust pizza. I need to remind SWMBO that 'healthy' and 'frozen pizza' don't go together and just to buy the regular kind.

Ewwwwww. Pizza is supposed to be junk food.

Tell them to sit down. That's what we finally had to do. Now they have to clean their own bathroom, so that helps.

Interesting idea.

I just might add this in my new house.

They are a bit older now, but after sharing a ahhh "facility" with my boys for more than a month on the last move, I laid down the law when we moved into this house: never, ever, ever, use Mom's bathroom (we have 3, so they have 2 others to choose from). I've already told them that if their aim doesn't improve, they will spend most of the summer looking for a suitable tree whenever they have to go.

I completely understand. I have to be pretty desperate to use their "facility". Mine are already used to "watering a bush" - and actually seem to prefer it to the usual way. So, that would be something they'd like.

If you can go in this without falling down, head back into the bar and have another pint! :drinking1

Urinals44.jpg

How about this one?

sofitel_melbourne_urinal.jpg

OK - that last is my favorite so far.

And how did this thread turn into a showcase of the world's most interesting urinals??

The 4th grade play is tonight. Have to go soon. So, I think I'll post the joke of the day a little earlier than usual...

To make this joke truly complete we need a hydrant shaped urinal...

Diane my dear friend  I am so sorry for your loss but I am so glad both you and your Mother found peace. If there is anything at all I can do, even if just lend an ear please pm or email me. I'll be thinking about you and praying for all of you too. :grouphug:

Hello Everyone!

I've been off for a few days getting our DD ready for her senior trip to WDW. And if it's okay with my Orlando-area friends, keeping you (Judy, Arlene, Liz) in the back of my mind in case of emergency. (thanks  ) Until she landed in Orlando at 11 this morning my heart was in my mouth. You all remember me........the most fearful flier on two feet! Well I tried not to pass that particular fear to my kids, but I'm afraid kids learn much more by what we practice more so than what we preach! Well maybe Taryn was a little fearful, but she didn't let that stop her and for that I'm glad!

We I'm going to try and catch up over what I missed that last few days, but a quick glance shows me you swabbies where all about your swords :rotfl2: :rotfl2: bad swabbies! :lmao:

Well...

.... the sad truth though is that my Clam sauce used to really be about THAT BAD with generating GAS. It was laughable for a while until some folks started asking for medication to deal with the gas intensity.

That said... I am going to step away in a moment (you've all heard me say that before repeatedly) ... to whip up some clam sauce. I think I have everything I need to make it.

AND... if I may say so - chuckles are sometimes an effective bandage when one is bruised or wounded. It works for me most of the time.

Now I'm off for a bit to get my sauce started. Alicia loves my sauce and always quips it's better then any restuarant. Plus I bought a seafood Cioppino base from Trader Joes yesterday that I want to try tonight. SO there's gonna be a lot of pasta to sample tonight.

Thanks Crash I really did need a good laugh tonight! :goodvibes

Diane as one who had to say a peaceful and loving goodbye to my Mom a few years ago I want to extend my sincerest condolences to you. It is truly a blessing to have the opportunity to know that well deserved rest and freedom from suffering has come to someone you love so much and I know that will help sustain you. to you and your family!

Thank you for the hug & sorry for your loss also. Here's one for you!

This was beautifully spoken Mary. And everyone elses' remarks were also nicely put as well. I was the guy taking the short cut with the picture alone... but seeing as I too lost my Mom near 20 years ago - I have serious and real feelings about things like this. It was (and remains) easier for me to try and keep it simple.

Cheers... as I attempt to slip away again to get some pots and pans out for cioppino and clam sauces. So this only makes it the 2nd (or 3rd) time I'm saying I'm gonna go now.

Not a short cut at all. That image said a lot & actually brought tears to my eyes. Crash you always put things quite eloquently & you know I appreciate your warm thoughts. I am also sorry for the loss of your Mom. I lost my Dad in 1980 & I still miss him terribly. So hugs to you too!

Tom your picture was beautiful and eloquent. You know they say a picture is worth a thousand words and I think your choice was lovely and thoughtful!

Ditto!

Diane....sending prayers to you and sincere sympathies for the loss of your Mom. You have an amazing attitude.

Thank you for sharing this very personal part of your life. Be assured that my DW and I will thinking of you and praying for you.

Please don't worry about bringing us down. If there is anything we can do to make you smile a little, let us know. You can even make fun of me if it helps. I lost my mom two years ago suddenly and I know how you must feel. You'll be in my prayers tonight.

Sorry for your loss :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

pirate:

Sending tons and tons of :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: your way Diane.

Diane - I'm so sorry.:grouphug:

Diane, I am so sorry for your loss. It is never easy, but you seem much more at peace now. My prayers are with you and your family.

So, so sorry for you loss, Diane. Sending :grouphug: and prayers to you.

I just want to thank you all for your warm thoughts, words of wisdom, laughs etc. You can not begin to know how much it means to come here & see all the words of support. You know it's funny, because a lot of my friends & family do not understand my obsession with Disney, the Dis boards & in particular this thread. They ask, "How can you talk to these people you don't even know?" Well I can't really explain it to them. How I feel when I am at WDW or on a cruise with my family is beyond words. It's not an amusement park or even just a vacation to me, it's my sanity. I cherish those moments with my children more than anything in the world. Maybe because I didn't have them growing up. I love to talk to people who have a like minded obsession. And I especially feel as if I know each and everyone of you in some way. I know some of your quirks, what makes you laugh, happy, angry, etc. I only look forward to getting to know you all in person. Thanks again! :grouphug:

Glad she landly safely! I passed on a fear of bugs to my children. I tried not to, but they scream at the sight of a bee! :sad2:

Diane - I am so sorry for your loss.

We are here for you if you need us.

Well, I just hope that when DS & DD are the age your kids are, that I look that good. I am 40 and already feel like I look older...especially in pictures.

Lisa you do NOT! Now stop that you're gorgeous!! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Funny you should ask, I'm either going to be known as The Coolest Dad or The Biggest Fool. Anyhow here it is: Back early in the school year I made a deal with Angelina, something we have done several times in the past, but not to this extent. Well, Angelina kept her part of the bargain and since I am a dad of my word, I did as well. Last evening, I still shutter at the thought, we took Angelina to get her reward and I am adding a pic of it below.

Angelinatattoo1.jpg

Now, it's time to get my ST up so she can get ready for school.

Wow Andy!! I admire your Chutzpah my friend! I also admire that you stuck to your word. Did I tell you last year this is almost the exact same way the Taryn's belly button wound up pierced! I do love the tattoo though (as opposed to the piercing which I definitely don't like)! What does Little Hay Hay think of it?

Her mind is open...to Nikon, Leica and Lumix! :thumbsup2 Lumix because they are made with Leica lenses and it turns out that Panasonic (Lumix) makes the electronics for all of Leica's digital cameras.

Not going to touch that with a footlong sword!

Too late!!!!

 Sweetie, I didn't mean for you to actually post your cabin number!

It's obvious you'll need some protection while you get to know this bunch... I suggest you listen to the sage and pithy advice of Tom31b, yargrnhoj and of course The Captain (DisneyVegas1).
 :lmao:  :lmao:

Hey HC stop BSing the new folks! :rotfl2:
