 , very interesting topics...wasn't there a song in the 70's-
"having my baby?"..........well maybe not interesting to most swabbies,
but it is too me.......i like science~ in nature...& i believe, the process of
birthing....and all the structures supporting it, :rolleyes1 , is simply
brilliant!...by my faith, [defining what i blieve in my heart], God, as
a spiritual being, knew "what" he/she was doing! [he/she is just a reference]

..& since i spent 3 years..in this department {of health=:goodvibes } ,
one can probably imagined the "esperiences" i can tell...* however, i think
its :lmao: , that what i remembered, (almost 30 years) ago, isn't what would
be the generalized expectation here....for example, i do not/can not recall
one bottom view...it's were the miracles that stuck with me...there i learned
some very important interventions..that later proved life saving.

* what is my first thought...all the wonderful nurses that were lil'
miracles workers..are no longer living, God bless them....:flower3:
then,

it bugs me every time...seeing that ad, claiming 1/166 births
are autism?!..:sad2: . one of the most impressive intervention i ever
witnesed....is telling the mother to be and whatever they needed to
do...."one cannot imagined the effort, this will produced...no mattered
the pain...:bride: are pixiedust: .....

the ob guys were divided into 2 groups that developed some very good
results..delivery & peds. but who would have guess, the women
are making their own observations ....:rolleyes1 , well one of the guy
was from germany, & he had a beautiful :bride: . we were very close
friends. but one could "appricate" ..{what did moses said after he was
married & the "queen" was throwing herself at him?} . same thing apply
here.

but iam wondering how since we were all glowned & masked....except
for eyes. funny...i can recall how much communicating "we" all did in
emergencies ..by our eyes.

*
my experiences....later made me very  toward my wife. so
why i kid around , iam very loyal to my lil'cutie. to me, there isn't
any greener grass...though there are times, she drives me a lil'
grumpy. [* howver, i am sure i have gotten the better of the deal]
and ..i really enjoyed the traditions of making soemthing very
wonderful last. yes, it is my choice.

it's really quite amusing..the major differences, are in the set ups..
repositioning this and that is to accomplished one major objective.
 & families :grouphug: togetherness.

nor did my experiences, had any effect...on my primary reactions...
" i can't explained it..but when i see a woman, there a pause of
interacting feelings...of 'apprication. [ i just think there alot of things
every woman posseses for good interacting]...:hippie: . so while
both sexes are similar...i just know females... produced a totally
different repsonse...of joy. i can't imagined, no women on earth. i
for one, would not want to be here..so where my lil cutie goes, my
love goes with her! :love2:

* besides, my mother was woman, :thumbsup2 & she will always be
in my heart.

 sorry wenches.. after the shock value...i don't think, having
babies' pirate: ...are going to keep the swabbies away. [esp.
the tpye of assests being dispalyed..by such wenches clothing?]

somthing of having a lil'humor potential, some of you were born
when i was working in this "field" . intersting, from my family roots,
there is no bigger field, of dreams..than having a new baby entering
our lil'brood. * then i came along...:stitch:

:dance3: pirate: :dance3: ..where i always want to be, :flower3:
me thinks, there's a song trying to come out....ok, i "know",
terrible attempt..at baby humor...

I had to pass this one on!

According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington was recently
faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls had begun to use
lipstick and would put it on in the bathroom. That was fine, but after they
put on their lipstick they would press their lips to the mirror leaving dozens
of little lip prints. Every night the maintenance man would remove them and the
next day the girls would put them back.

Finally the principal decided that something had to be done. She called all the
girls to the bathroom and met them there with the maintenance man. She explained
that all these lip prints were causing a major problem for the custodian who had
to clean the mirrors every night (you can just imagine the yawns from the little
princesses).

To demonstrate how difficult it was to clean the mirrors, she asked the maintenance
man to show the girls how much effort was required. He took out a long-handled
squeegee, dipped it in the toilet, and cleaned the mirror with it.

Since then, there have been no lip prints on the mirror.

There are teachers.... and then there are educators.

I love it. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :lmao: :lmao: Had to pass this one on at work.

We are really enjoying living in Florida. We aren't retired yet but alot of people here still work. The place is something you can't believe until you see it. There are 60,000 people living in The Villages and there will be about 100,000 when it is built out in four or five years. There is anything you can think of to do. We have two town squares (soon to be three) where there is music and dancing everynight. Unfortunately you can't buy here unless you take an already built home. Years ago you could pick your lot then build, now you just tell them what you are looking for and they take you to see homes that have what you're looking for. WE get to use our golf carts for anything. Grocery shopping, doctors appointments, restaurants, shopping (too many stores to mention), movies, bowling, etc. It all depends on what you are looking for but this place was hard to beat when we were looking. Especially since my DH is a golfer. There are over 17 nine hole courses and 6 championship courses on property. I guess I sound like a commercial but we have been here three years and are happy with our choice.

Barbara

Thanks for all the info.:thumbsup2 I sent you a private pm.

My mother has lived there since 1988. It is amazing how much the place has grown since then. We visit the Villages often & DH & I are thinking of retiring there in about 12 years. I love the idea of just driving my golf cart wherever we want to go. Even the local police have a few golf carts. They sell golf carts that look like Model Ts, 57 Chevys, Rolls Royce, etc. My kids love the pool at the country club with the waterfalls & weekend activities. I was eating dinner at the Copper Bottom (brand new) at Town Square just a couple of weeks ago. It was so beatiful at night, the food & drink was delicious & they had all sorts of kiosks set up with arts & crafts they were selling & they had a live band playing. People walking by were saying Hi & asking how the food was. Everyone is so friendly! My sister works at McCalls which is also in Town Square. I absolutely adore The Villages!

Gee maybe I could pruchase now and wait the 4 years to build it??? :confused3 Sounds like a plan to me!!!!:lmao: If you do go down Diane, plan for Labor Day. :cool1: I will be at WDW. I just asked Barbara to join us for the mini meet down in Florida.

Wow I better stop talking about all this stuff or you guys will get the wrong impression!

NAH....you got the right impression! :rotfl2:

Now if we talk about this stuff on the board, what will talk on the chat about????:confused3  You make me crack up about "parts are parts"!! :rotfl2:  As long as we take care of our parts, that is what counts.

OMG! That guy had no business being up there. He was going to fall over from laughter with their answers! :lmao:

That was sooooo funny. And to think they were all in college.  :scared:

Hey MR, just found out that my new man has a cordless blender. I told him that the blender goes on the cruise, whether or not he does! :rotfl:

Make sure you invite the blender. :cool1:

blending_angled.gif

You suppose I could get my 18.2V high speed DRILL BLENDER on the ship???

THis would be portable and I could play bartender anywhere and everywhere on the ship... plus everyone with a portable drill like this could bring thiers' along and have thier own portable blender at minimal cost!

<chuckles>

Product%20montage-large.jpg

Don't give my hysband any ideas. With this crowd maybe we need a portable
cement mixer!!!:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

On my Med thread the tag fairys been around causing a lot of mischief
Never see any Mods posting???????

Just click on the "Zoom Out" button to see the east coast of the USA and the coast of Europe and Africa.

Severe storms, with very HEAVY rains are going through our area, I just had to chase our trash bags that were floating down the road.............our neighbor saw me and hollored out his door, "That's one way to get rid of your trash." :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
Thanks shes making progress

I think it's great that we can track the Magic on its voyage to Barcelona. Although I would rather be on that ship dising with you. I have friends who are going on the 070707 Med cruise. I am surprised to see that this trip was not sold out. I hope the Med cruises are sold out.

Karen
Great

That would be really disconcerting to me. The idea that if you had to put into shore, there isn't any shore to put into.
Agree there are a few islands around, nothing much, remember she came from Europe so its the second time across the pond.

PIRATE HAPPY BIRTHDAY
Yeah,

I'm not surprised. I JUSt heard about this yesterday and we're out of town for the family thing. And off hand I am an enthusaist but not quite ready for buying this - even for a noble cause. Just this month I sent my an annoying final check off to the IRS for some "tax adjustments" that were routed my way! One of the companies I distribute for filed a huge addition to my income after initially filing (and sending me) an incorrect 1099. Which I got "corrected" .... only to have them refile this addition and NOT report to me the changes. I had incentive travel awards plus other bonuses.

Oh well... that's a limp excuse - and BTW... has anyone else noticed the main board in the last 2 days has been aflame with talk of discounted MED sailings for cat 12 guarante rates? It looks (vaguely recalling) as if the fares were down to 3K for 2 which is working out to under $100 a nite some say. Not sure of the details - but I originally declined from this on account of our internt to remain loyal to a "family group" which already had a game plan in place to plan a MED cruise. And as it stands the DCL voyages do not match up to our requirements.

Initially I was ingterested in just doing it since it seemed a "bargain" at $100 a nite... but then my spouse suggested this is not enough given we might gonna stir trouble among those planning on the family gathering thing. Plus we had all agreed that all of our kids were not quite old enough to gain sufficient value from a trip offerring so much cultural/educational value. Of course, that didn't stop us from taking the 1st child 150,000+ air miles before she was 3. So - go figure??? I sometimes have to chuckle at the contradictions. And at other times I just keep a straight face and conceal any cynicism (misspelled?) or chuckling... lest I risk triggerring "the" withering glare of my best friend.

So... even though it's bargain priced we've decided not to do it. We still have 3 weeks vacation in her schedule... I stilll have 28 weeks vacation in mine... so we need to figure out what we'll do. She mentioned warm water to swim in would be nice - and I suggested it's been awhile since we'd been to Montreal and Quebec (plus another couple I ran into suggested we do Canada together). And just last nite old friends of mine suggested we do some "name forgotten?" canyon in Mexico ... which is supposedly several times larger then the Grand Canyon and viewable by train. And... my alternative to a European cruise would be a week somewhere in Asia or Oceana. Chances are we just might do Hawaii again in December for 10 days then spread the other 5-10 days for 5-10 three day weekends of some combination like that. Of course, that means we would have visited Honolulu/Maui 4 times in 12 months for about 33-36 days. That may seem like a lot but we've already had 3 of the 4 trips done or booked already. I could use a change of pace since the folks who were not so well in Hawaii are turning out to be doing very well (or as best as can be expected).

At any rate... we'll be musing through our options in the days to come. With any luck we'll have plans as opposed to a "happy-go-lucky" open agenda... which is just as likely. Now... Andy, when was it you were gonna sail in November? We cancelled our usual once a year DCL voyage this year and COULD use a reinstatement of a voyage of some sort. Whay not something that might boast of having your family trio in attendance?

OK... actually... who knows WHAT we'll do? Frankly... I'd just like to do something we have not done in a long time that also meets more then one criteria for us. Oh yeah... we want a fair deal too!

CRASH are you coming??

Yes, he's single. He's been at this for some 3 years now. Going through the state as he couldn't incur the expense of private adoption. The problem is (a) he's single and (b) he was too laissez faire when dealing with the social workers. It's sad but we (and even a social worker) had told him if he were to simply state that he's gay (and he's not) then he would have been at the top of the list for a placement!

DW put it best: Had he knocked up some chick (sorry to be crude) and she said "I can't deal with this" while leaving the baby with him, he would have raised the child and everyone would say how wonderful he is, what a great guy for stepping up blah blah blah. But that he is a single man and wants to adopt and care for a child not biologically linked to him...well people think that's strange or worse (can you say Michael Jackson?) :headache:  :headache:  :furious:

Gabbie's right, that is what they'd say. And you're also correct about telling him what he should have said.....kind of sad the system works that way.
Bravo to him for doing it! If single women can, then why shouldn't a man be able to nurture, too??

Hi everyone! Hope everyone is having a good day. It's cloudy/rainy here. Have a parent-teacher conference tonight and then we go and pick up dd's softball uniform. Plus I get to drop off the $30 worth of raffle tickets I ate! :lmao: I hate selling them. Each family is required to sell $30 worth.

I guess I have recovered from that embarrassing school board meeting last night! :scared1: I have never been so embarrassed! What a bunch of adds. They wouldn't approved our new principal till after a budget meeting. She turned down 2 other offers to come to our school. So she is put off for another 2 weeks. They also wouldn't approve 2 3rd party contract renewals for 2 other principals. They work for a serivce and the school district doesn't have to pay them bennies. It was a no brainer and 3 board members were having a fit over everything and the new board member sworn in last night was :stir: . The state budget is in chaos, but they still need to conduct business. I now know why people home school! I our area there are a number of charter schools and school districts compete with each other for students. Our elementary school's curriculum is based on multiple intelligences, so we are unique in the area. Not to mention the 75% of the children attending come from outside the neighborhood and city.

I know why I don't watch those meetings on cable, it make you want to throw something at the TV! :happytv:

We have now had kids in the same school district for 20 years, and after, I'd say, the first 12 or so years of Board meetings, I just can't do it any more. Their stupidity drives me nuts....and these people are in charge (to some extent) of our kids' education!
Nerf balls! Throw Nerf balls!

I also put my foot down after DD#2 that I will not SELL anything any more. They have finally even quit asking me. Everything they have given our last kid is always returned back to the teacher the very next day. And I make it clear at the initial meetings for sports that I'm happy to donate goods and money, but my kids won't sell. I simply object to the kids asking relatives and friends to buy stuff they don't want, and then the people feel guilted into it....and no way will I send the kids door-to-door.

MEN!? Do you prefer a little or a lot of KY for your prostate exam? Do you prefer a male or female doc for that little bit of indignity? And is your doc nice by warming up the endoscope for you colonoscopy?

Right back atcha MR! :thumbsup2
You may be poked and prodded annualy but you dont' have to suffer being your own National Geographic Explorer TV show! :scared:

This is so sad, but having UC and Crohn's Disease I've had 3 colonoscopies in the past 17 years. I don't remember if things were warm or not! One time I got to watch the screen during it and it was interesting. Have a male gastroenterologist who is a sweetie. In fact I get to see him too next week. Sometimes I get the finger and sometimes I don't. I don't think it's pleasant no matter who you are. But it's best to be proactive with ones health.

I hear you! These people are something else. I use to be very involved in local politics (Undergad major: Poly Sci) but not in the city I live now. Actually these board members are a good advertisement for home schooling!:scared1:

I would perfer to take a buy out. If sb registrtion is $50 (also includes uniforms) and $30 of raffle tkts to sell, just charge me $80 and get it over with! :confused3

Say...

... I don't know whether anyone else has posted this yet - but this weekend (the 19th) appears to be the premier of POTC3 and at Disneyland they're running a fund raiser for the Make a Wish Foundation... one of the charitable groups that I favor... and seats are available at $1500 each if I read the promo correctly!? And since Disney is fully subsidizing the event 100% of the funds will go to the MAW Foundation. Anyone have interest in this???

I am departing for SF after lunch tomorrow (today) ... as our plans changed when we had a noon appointment cancel - thus freeing up some of our morning - otherwise we would have hit the road at 7AM. I'll be out of touch 99% of the time til monday evening... So... I'd like to offer everyone cordial good wishes for a wonderful weekend and happy birthday well wishes for all who are marking the ocassion in the days to come.

Here's the flyer...

Way to change the subject, Crash:thumbsup2

All this talk about groinacologists was making me nervous. :scared:

Found this one in my email this morning, and make me laugh so I thought I'd share. This one is for the wenches.........

A study worth sharing...

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that
the kind of face a woman finds attractive on a man can differ depending
on where she is in her menstrual cycle.
For example: If she is ovulating, she is attracted to men with rugged
and masculine features.
However, if she is menstruating, pregnant, or menopausal, she tends to
be more attracted to a man with duct tape over his mouth and a spear
lodged in his chest while he is on fire.
No further studies are expected.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Just in from the annual visit to the Doctor that us girls do not speak of :rotfl2: I have decided that my person simply requires too much maintenance! Manis, Pedis, Waxys, Rosacea Treatments, Dye Jobs.....etc. And I'm only 46.....what will my maintenance require twenty years from now?? :rotfl:

Wait until you start replacing body parts like I have!

THR1.jpg

This is not mine (mine is on the right) but it looks just like it. It does set off the airport metal detector!

Okay Girls strictly for shock value I want to mention that my new Dr. is female, but my last GYNO (the one who delivered my kids) was DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. That just isn't right! Anyone else have a handsome GYNO? :thumbsup2

Last year I needed shoulder surgery to fix the rotator cuff. My ortho surgeon was a very nice guy. OK looking, but very refined. So it's the day of surgery. I am a mess. No food, no coffee, no make-up and in a gown I can barely get to cover me. I am sitting in a pre-op room waiting, when in walks this Nordic god. :scared1: Hi Kathy, I'm Dr. Blond-Hair-Blue-Eyes-Perfect-Teeth  and I'll be assisting Dr. What's-His-Name, with your surgery. Do you have any questions.? I think my Mom kicked me before I could ask if he was single. He's the only guy, to this day, who has seen me topless without having to take me on an expensive vacation.

I'm just wrapping my early lunch hour - and I need some help guys.... I am just a little confused as to this "brazillian cut" thing. I googled it and even tried variations with the search words - trolling to get an animation ... and I could not find one - or find enough for me to feel there was a consensus opinion on what a Brazilian cut was referred to in the original posting.... <sly chuckles> ... so c'mon guys ... does anyone have any opinions on the Brazilian cut thing?

And remember... this is a FAMILY oriented board... <silent soft chuckles> ....

So what do you think of these couple of images I found which MIGHT be representative of "Brazilian cuts"... am I on the "right" or "wrong" path?

... I am running off now for some last minute chores before we get the kids and hit the road... gotta get a hair cut so my FIL and MIL can renew thier opinion of me as something more then a the lucky bum that I am.... I'll at least be a reasonably groomed lucky bum... (lucky to have won the love of thier wonderful daughter...) .... ;) So... here's a little something for todays conversation if anyone cares to follow this with thier opinions... (chuckles)

Way to change the subject, Crash:thumbsup2

All this talk about groinacologists was making me nervous. :scared:

Does this qualify as a diplomatic change of subject?

<chuckles>

I gotta go get my haircut... and ... my FIL just called from Honolulu to say his plane is not gonna arrive in HNL until 6PM! All those thunder storms back east - which played havoc with my spouses' flights yesterday probably... And now his departure flight has been delayed until this evening .... which relaxes our travel schedule to meet them in SF. However, I still want to follow the original agenda - just in case somthing changes again they come in close to on time. Which reminds me - my BIL/SIL from Boston may have a rough time getting out here tomorrow too if these storms persist.... Sigh...

Gotta go now and get my hair cut... Have a great weekend DIS friends!!!

What JR, no comment about the GYNO...you slippin' Pal?? :rotfl2:

You girls just think that you do no talking about this; the guys REALLY do not talking about it! :scared1:

CRASH are you coming??

If it were just me deciding ALONE... yes. But the spouse wants to sail with her family (group) ... and to preserve that potential we're fading from this great deal. RATS! Oh well...

You guys go an; have a blast for us folks who stayed behind to keep the thread going!!!

OK, hot tub is clean & refilling. And my toes are frozen - it is 48 degrees.

I'm hungry. When I'm at work I don't even think about eating until 1:30-2. It is 11:30 and I'm starving. What's up with that??

I had to pass this one on!

According to a news report, a certain private school in Washington was recently
faced with a unique problem. A number of 12-year-old girls had begun to use

There are teachers.... and then there are educators.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Reminds me of the joke my grandma used to tell about the family who kept stopping by for dinner unexpectedly. After a few times, the hostess asked for help in the kitchen, laid the dirty plates on the floor, let the dog lick them clean & then put them back in the cabinet. Game over.

I will only let my kids sell if there is a goal in mind. I hate the PTA sell stuff to sell stuff things (wrapping paper, cheese, cookie dough). I will however let them sell if there is a personal goal in mind - Cub Scout popcorn to earn $$ for summer camp, candy bars to earn $$ for hockey travel, etc. I think there is some value & learning involved in that case, so it is not just "Mom, I need a check."

Having said that, we don't break any sales records. Neither DH or I can sell at work & relatives are too far away, so we go door to door (together) on our street and call it good.

Oh, and while I am not morally opposed to gambling & I've been known to lose a bit of money myself, I have philosophical problem with sending kids out into the world to sell raffle tickets.

Okay Girls strictly for shock value I want to mention that my new Dr. is female, but my last GYNO (the one who delivered my kids) was DROP DEAD GORGEOUS. That just isn't right! Anyone else have a handsome GYNO? :thumbsup2

Whatd'ya think of that question guys? :rotfl:

I've never really understood the need for a certain gender in a doctor. :confused3 My Mom's doctor was male but my DW chooses females. I want the best doctor that is available. :thumbsup2 I have had several female doctors and they have even done the cancer screening that us guys really grimace about. :scared: It doesn't make it any better or worse!

Wait until you start replacing body parts like I have!

This is not mine (mine is on the right) but it looks just like it. It does set off the airport metal detector!

I bet a have 2 of those by the time I'm 50.

Something to look forward to.
