HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!!!! Thank God it is OVER because if I had another day at work this week I would end up in the looney bin!!!!!!!  You know that song... "They're coming to take me away haha, they're coming to take me away HaHa, HeHe, Hoho, to the happy home with trees and flowers and chirping birds and basket weavers who sit and smile and twiddle their thumbs and toes and they are coming to take me away haha, to the funny farm and I'll be happy to see those nice young men in their clean white coats cause they're coming to take me away HAHA!!!!! that has been my week!!!!! :rotfl:

I hope everyone has a GREAT FRIDAY!!!!!!

My expert opinion: Drink...heavily! :rotfl:

Sorry your week has been going well. At least it's the weekend and you'll have time away from work!

Off to bed now as it's fast approaching midnight so goodnight all !!

I present for you a DIS 6 year time warp:

Look Dad! My class is going to the park/zoo/play/salmon stream/museum/1870's next week. We need parents to come with us. Can you come? Can you? Can you? Can you?

PbGZ.jpg

Or the "No Dad, I don't want you to come. I want Mom to come."

Clearly I must be embarrassing to the child. I have succeeded!

hmmmmm I can see that happening with us...DS clearly prefers DW except for those times when he wants the Bubbee (pacifier) in which case he comes to me because I'm more likely to give in and let him have one so he'll stop squawk about it! :teeth: But they say it's okay for them to have pacifiers up until age 4 so what the hay....

Yeah and the first time you go they'll try and give you the behavior problem child....You know they one that hits the window of your car with the seatbelt end or tackles your kid because that's how his Daddy plays with him.

Well then I stand by my original plan...give the kid $20 and when they don't show up to the car well then doom on them! Of course that I moved the car to another lot wound't have anything to do with it. :rolleyes1

My son's music teacher was asking for chaperones for their concert next week. Middle school age. Thank heavens she asked in an e-mail, it's much easier to say "Ain't no flippin' way!" in writing than it is face to face!!

:lmao:

I received this and had to share.............................
Subject: MOTHER'S DAY STORY

So, we had this great 10 year old cat named Jack who just recently died. Jack was a great cat and the kids would carry him around and sit on him and nothing ever bothered him. He used to hang out and nap all day long on his mat in our bathroom.

Well we have 3 kids and at the time of this story they were 4 years old, 3 years old and 1 year old. The middle one is Eli. Eli really loves chapstick. LOVES it. He kept asking to use my chapstick and then losing it. So finally one day I showed him where in the bathroom I keep my chapstick and how he could use it whenever he wanted to but he needed to put it right back in the drawer when he was done .

Last year on Mother's Day, we were having the typical rush around and try to get ready for Church with everyone crying and carrying on. My two boys are fighting over the toy in the cereal box. I am trying to nurse my little one at the same time I am putting on my make-up. Everything is a mess and everyone has long forgotten that this is a wonderful day to honor me and the amazing job that is motherhood.

We finally have the older one and and the baby loaded in the car and I am looking for Eli. I have searched everywhere and I finally rounded the corner to go into the bathroom. And there was Eli. He was applying my chapstick very carefully to Jack's . . . rear end. Eli looked right into my eyes and said "chapped." Now if you have a cat, you know that he is right--their little butts do look pretty chapped. And, frankly, Jack didn't seem to mind.

And the only question to really ask at that point was whether it was the FIRST time Eli had done that to the cat's behind or the hundredth.

And THAT is my favorite Mother's Day moment ever because it reminds us that no matter how hard we try to civilize these glorious little creatures, there will always be that day when you realize they've been using your chapstick on the cat's butt.

Darn, the one time in several weeks that I've found some time for chat and you all cut out early!

Must have been a very quiet chat tonight. I was also there late and it appears everyone had already called it a night. Sorry I missed you Monica, I would have enjoyed catching up with you!

I went to build rockets for cub scouts tomorrow, came back to chat and nobody was home! Sorry I missed you Mary & Monica.

In all fairness, it is 1:20am EDT, but I figured the left coast contingent would still be there. Oh well.

G'Night pirate:s
Long day tomorrow.

I posted this on the main board:-

Today May 12 Disney Magic Goes To Europe

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Today is finally the day the MAGIC sets sail for Europe. For the next 14 days she will be making her way across the Atlantic to her new summer home in the MED.

I will be going on one of the 11 night Med cruises in July.

I just want to say thank you to DCL for considering the people of Europe in bringing the flagship of the DCL to the Med, hope it isn't just a one off, and maybe when the two new ships come we will be considered.

Good luck to all the cruisers, on todays trans Atlantic crossing, please keep us informed as I am sure its going to be a very special cruise.

After Castaway Cay six days at sea in a row, I am sure DCL will pull out all the stops to entertain you during this time, as they did on the Panama cruise in 2005.

Then Teneriffe, Cadiz, Gibratar, before the new summer home of the Magic Barcelona where I will see her in July.

ENJOY and TAKE CARE of her across the Atlantic.

Good morning and Happy Birthday from the "other" UK diser

I'm not very happy, I've just had a "call-out" so I have to drive 35 miles down the coast to Great Yarmouth to see someone :headache: I was looking forward to a relaxing weekend as well.

Catch you all later.

Well...

... looks like I missed another round of Friday nite chat. Our daughters' gymnastics class was cancelled on account of her coach being sick... so we substituted with a spur of the moment run to Disneyland. Traffic was nominally a pain being a friday afternoon - but we got there just under 3 hours drive... including a 30 minute detour for dinner (take out boxes for the park) and a 20 minute diversion to meet enroute to consolidate into one van for the drive. The distance is only about 67 miles but we had to take a zig zag approach to avoid traffic snarls... and to use car pool lanes. Only we found on one long stretch (91 freeway) they had closed most of the car pool lane for rennovation. The 67 mile drive on an early Sunday morning can take as little as 70 minutes... so yeah... increasing it to just over 2 hours adjusted for the 2 stops is not really too bad.

So... tomorrow there's a Mommy and Daughter Karate class... and I think my spouse is gonna enroll our 2 kids into Chinese school. I don't converse in Chinese anymore so am throughly out of practice. And it would be nice if we could provide some cultural enrichment for our kids. Locally we have a well resolved program that attracts students for quite a distance - and the total attendance easily spans several hundred students for the once a week classes. I was astonished at how many students attended when we surveyed the program a few weeks ago. Plus... we're getting encouragement from others in the community to send our kids in.

Aside from that... Sunday we were gonna do Disneyland - and now we won't. So that opens up our Sunday for other diversions to celebrate Mothers' Day. I'll confide a little something... I still don't know WHAT to get for my spouse. I've been with her 23 (24?) years ... so I have a clear idea of what she does NOT want - and just about everything she might want has been given to her... or she got it on her own. The same is almost true for me (I still don't have a Viper in the driveway or a current model DSLR). So... I am left mildly perplexed over what to get. The kids already have hand made gifts for Mom from school... and I think I might just sneak off to Costco to get a nice floral arrangement for presentation Sunday. anyone have any creative suggestions over what I should consider giving for Mothers' Day?
