We have a couple of apple trees and a plum tree. It's not the squirrels that get to the fruit...it's the birds! I have absolutely NO idea how to stop them.

We have a couple of fruit trees in back too... but our problem appears to include possums, rats, squirrels, birds ... and once we had a family of bobcats visit our back yard. Our neighbor saw them enter one very early morning - but neglected to tell me till a couple of days later <?!?> and they were long gone by then. Not to say they were after our fruits.

We get these beauties, but they are usually after my little dog!

One time I had the pleasure of seeing Mama bocat and four little (tiny) cubs. She had sent the cubs up a tree to keep them safe from me. They were up there, hanging on for dear life and crying like mad! If only I'd had the camera.

7 Off Topic Questions​

1) What did you think this threads' "Topic" was anyway? Pirates and Smilies and Cake , oh my!!!

2) Do we really NEED a topic (yes or no answers are strictly forbidden!!!) <chuckles> No, I mean, yes, No, I mean no.

3) How many siblings do you have? Only child. Funny thing most people figure that out, without me telling them.

4) What are your top 2 hobbies / interests? Scrapbooking and TV, or reading, ya reading.

5) What is the first "favorite thing" about DCL that comes to mind when asked ... what do you like most about sailing DCL? Friendly and safe, oh and food.

6) Same spontaneous type answer as #5 above to this query: What do you like about the DIS forum? Be candid on initial thoughts, please. No trite - well conceived replies... That there are soooo many different topics, there is something for everyone.

7) What was YOUR first job that paid $ that was not from your parents or a relative? A camp counselor at a sixth grade camp in the Angeles National forest. Went up with the kids on Monday morning and came back to town on Friday afternoon. I lasted only a few weeks and then quit. Got a horrible flu and it was snowing and freezing, quite the experience, I was 18.

It's not that any of us don't want to notice (we really do) it's the fact that there so many of us! We need a scorecard to keep track of who's in and who's out!

It's like having 15 children in your family and you take them to the grocery store. You hope that you don't forget one in the ice cream section!

We do care; it's just hard to keep up with us all!

And I am only #55 on the thread, so no I don't post as often as others. I am a really shy person in real life (till I get to know people), I think that's why I wait to the end of the day to post. I've been on the net for over 10 years and never chatted. Way too scary, but I'll have to try it one Friday.

OMG!!!

I actually WAS thinking we had not heard form BIP, JustMEstce and Friend_of_piglet at one time and/or another in the past few weeks. Same of Andy and everyone else. I did not know or consider it to be tactful to popint out that a few of us actually "had a life" outside of the DIS (chuckles).... so I ended up focusing on continuing to ketchum as opposed to inquire about anyones temporary absence. Isn't it 24 hours someone goes missing before we call the cops ,,,, and here its' 30 days before the DIS cops or a monitor is flagged?

Aside from all that - I don't want to miss anyone on the "Missing in Action" list... so let me be the first to say... has anyone noticed anyone off this list missing recently??.... [/CENTER]
