wow! that is adorable....how did you get all the princesses at one time? my dd would freak out!! is this at a special gathering? or was it just luck??

It was because of the entertainment CMs in training who were extremely unorganized and rude at the Cindy pictures Sunday night. That entire night went badly. It was our 4th cruise so we know the drill but the CMs didn't. We were first waiting for Cindy along with DD's 2 friends and they were standing to the side of where the characters usually stand at Preludes. One went up to get her picture & autograph & all of the kids just started walking up to Cindy. The CMs didn't do anything...until CM Deville showed up & grabbed DD by the shoulders leading her behind a line of several kids who got there after we did & she was then seperated from her friends. Even the girl's parents who the CM put next in line were saying that she shouldn't be there & my DD needed to be next with her friends. That was her friend's first experience on the ship with character lines & her mother was not happy. We next went down to see Bell and SW who were on he schedule on the PALs line only to be told by the CM there that the schedule had been changed & they would not be appearing that night. The other two girls went up to bed & we hit the shops before heading that way ourselves. We stopped to see Peter Pan and when I turned around, I saw Belle & SW in the atrium. I told DH to take DD down there & put her back into her SW costume for a picture & I would be right down after getting Pan's autograph for her. I said something about it being run by a bunch of ameratures that cruise. Well, the CM with Pan happened to be the manager BJ, who I have talked to the previous 2 cruises & she recognized me and asked me what was wrong. I told her that I was greatful to see her because I could get some right answers. I asked if she had a lot of new CMs this cruise because things just weren't being handled very magically. When I told her about DD being moved the way she was, BJ was not happy about it either. I told her that my concern was that we had friends who I had raved to about our character experiences on the ship & they were not having a good view of it so far...not to mention that the next morning when DD told the girls that she had seen Belle & SW after being told they wouldn't be there...it wouldn't be pretty. I just hoped to avoid problems the rest of the week for us as well as anyone else who didn't know that it should be handled differently. BJ had me move to the side away from the line & told me to go to Studio Sea with DD after the princess gathering in the atrium for a private photo session that was scheduled to make up for it. I was stunned but did ask if her friends could be there as well since one of them was who I was more concerned about. That is who is in the picture with DD.

Anyhow, that is how the got their picture with the princesses. The girls were floating on a cloud the entire time and all of the princesses took the time to talk to everyone there. BJ brought us autographed copies the last night at dinner. I wasn't expecting that either...but imagine that they can't post the pictures in Shutters because it would create more problems than it would be worth.

Now that I finally made the ketchup, is anyone still here???

I loved all the pictures.  I wish I had a photographic memory so I could remember what everyone looks like.:lmao:

I got carded at TGIFridays recently & I was all excited so I said, "Really?" and the waiter replied, "Nah I was just kidding!" What the???? You mean asking for my ID is hysterical? I thought that was unbelievably insulting!

What a jerk!!!!!!! Must have been a stinky teen! ;) ;)

Think of it this way......one day he'll have a gigantic beer belly and lots of ear hair that he can grow into a combover for his bald head :lmao: :thumbsup2

How cute! DD is quite taken with them as well. This was her first time meeting Prince Charming. We called the reservation the girls' date. :goodvibes

When we were on our way to the Princess photo session I had to ask the character manager if Aladdin would be there too, because if not, we would stand in line to see him (but didn't want to take the time from another child). She assured me that Aladdin would stop in to see DD...and he did, along with signing her story book.

Beautiful pics of your adorable DD Lisa :thumbsup2

I just want to add that when the girl was standing there to get her pictures I did tell the CM to just let her get her picture done, then let DD get one with her friends.

Also, when waiting for Aurora before Cindy it was DD's turn and another girl walked up with her mother & went right up to her. David was the CM there (tall guy who is always very professional...friends with the Grand Duke BTW) and he started to tell them to get in the line to wait their turn but I told him not to worry about it. An extra 30 seconds wasn't going to make a difference. So it wasn't the girl getting in front of DD in the line that bothered me...it was the CM's lack of supervision and the fact that one of them grabbed DD by the shoulders & moved her when it wasn't necessary. Poor DD wasn't going to say anything to an adult but was crushed to be seperated from her friends. The incorrect info given was irritating but it was the handling that pushed me over...whatever happens isn't going to affect my vacation.

Hi MR:thumbsup2 I wish I could go back to read the chat last night. I look at my keys when I type so I missed so much.:sad1:

Hi Lisa, I can't believe the CM did that!!! Did anyone admit The CM's were new????:confused3 No one touches my child unless I gave permission!!!!!!

"I've Lost Me Luggage"
A leprechaun arrived at J.F.K. Airport and wandered
around the terminal with tears streaming down his
cheeks. An airline employee approached him and asked,
"Are you homesick for Ireland already?" "No," replied the leprechaun,
"I've lost all me luggage!" "How'd that happen?" asked the employee.
"The cork fell out!"

How sweetly lies old Ireland

Emerald green beyond the foam,

Awaking sweet memories,

Calling the heart to home.

Go E-A-G-L-E-S!!!!

I was on the August cruise when Invincible opened up, my DS and I took it in the first showing on the cruise!!!

Tom alot of us here were on that 8/19 cruise also :thumbsup2

I think he was a vacuum cleaner. And now they use Henriettas (uprights).
So sorry if I am wrong. But I think that is what I read:)

OK, I think. Just fastforwarded Sundays extreme makeover home edition and had my weekly cry. Goodnite all. Work tomorrow:surfweb:

Calling it a night folks. We're heading up to a golf show in Albany tomorrow and then up to Lake George afterward. It will be busy day so don't know if I will be around at all. And Monday afternoon I'm heading down to NYC to the FAO Schwarz store - we have a doll signing for the Last Mimzy (we did the collectible dolls) with some of the stars from the movie (including my personal fav Timothy Hutton) so I probably won't be back on until Tuesday night.

Have a great rest of your weekend and see ya on a flip side somewhere...

Lorri in case we don't speak for a while have a BLAST!!!

Has anyone eaten snow since childhood? I know, I know, don't eat yellow snow. No need to go there people. But honest to goodness tasted fresh fallen snow? I was outside shoveling for an eternity and on a whim, went over and picked up some nice clean snow and chomped on it. The taste just brought back a flood of memories of wet soggy mittens, building snowmen and digging snow forts, actually enjoying being in the cold for hours on end, hot cocoa and toast. Course, the backache I'm dealing with is severly limiting my sitting in one place too long so it's time for bed, but wow, what a unique sensation.

That gave me an awesome visual Jen and sent me reeling way back in time....to a simpler time..........thanks!

Glad to see you back Bip:)
thanks. I'm "kinda" back. I'm trying to read and catch up but like today... whooey, like 42 new pages to catch up on! I'm not posting a whole lot but I'm here sometimes. :)

Well that's one thing that can be said about Disney that is still quite different than most "companies" or businesses or whatever you want to call all those things. You know what I mean. And that one thing is- Disney may not be perfect but they darn sure try to make things right when they mess up!

We had a "similar" situation... our very first trip to WDW a few years ago and our very first time to get pictures taken with Mickey. This was "sort of" a big deal for my children but it was a MAJOR deal for me. When you see DH on the cruise- ask him how he felt about my Mickey obsession from the day we met. LOL I've always wanted to go to WDW and Mickey has always been my favorite character. (no princess for this tomboy! LOL) We were never able to go- but I had tons of Mickey stuff, clothing, you name it. He hated that I'd wear so much Mickey stuff- said it was "kids stuff" when we first dated. (he did not hinder me from wearing it by the way. Even then I knew who wore the pants in my house. LOL)
ANYWAY, our first day of our first trip to WDW and the first time to take pictures with Mickey. Stood in line at toontown for about an hour... and finally it's our turn. I saw others getting their pictures taken with their own cameras so I knew that was allowed and I was glad- please keep in mind that this was like in 2002 and DH had only been at his job like a year and a half and this was a spur of the moment cruise BECAUSE the entire plant had been closed down and everyone laid off for "atleast" 2wks so he took his vacation instead of taking the vacation pay in lieu of vacation (like he normally does- or did... until we actually started taking vacations). Anyway, point is he was laid off right before Christmas and we made a spur of the moment decision to go and we weren't doing all that great financially. We spent our vacation pay on that and had no idea how long the lay off would continue after we got back (turns out it wasn't any longer than 2wks but we didn't know that at the time!)
ANYWAY, point is we were not spending money like it was going out of style and I didn't really want to spend around $20 a picture while there- so I was using my digi camera. So I was glad to see everyone else was doing the same thing...
To make a long story short- I asked the lady (now I know she's a CM LOL) to take the picture of us as she'd done with others but I tried to explain to her that there was a slight delay after she pushed the button. To just hold it down and there would be like a 1 second delay and it would take the photo. She couldn't grasp that concept and kept pressing it and then putting the camera down to tell me it's not working and it would flash and take a picture of the floor. :sad2: She did that 3 times and then MICKEY GOT RUDE AND ABRUPT WITH ME! He stalked over to her- obviously upset and yanked the camera out of her hand- stuffed it in my face for me to take it and then turned around to take the photo of all of us with him. Everyone was smiling but I'm there standing with a camera in my hand and NOT smiling... I was on the verge of tears. Because of the way he acted and because I didn't think I'd buy the picture.
I did end up buying the picture because it would be the only time I'd ever have a picture of my "first" time with Mickey -and now I had the proof of how upset I was and camera in hand/etc. to remember the moment forever. :(
Also as we were walking out- I was getting visibly upset (ie: eyes started tearing up you know) and as we were walking out I was telling my husband (in a hushed voice no less- swear!) that I couldn't believe Mickey had behaved that way and no sooner had I got the words out of my mouth as we were walking out that door than the other young (very young) male CM at the door made a rude comment to me saying it's your own fault, your camera doesn't work. I, being who I am, turned around, stopped and said excuse me? First off my camera DOES work, she wouldn't listen to me and secondly I'm talking to my HUSBAND and I'd appreciate it if you'd stay out of my conversation and I walked out.
Might not sound all that nice but remember I didn't say it in a mean voice because at that point tears were falling, my voice was cracking. Try to imagine someone in tears saying that- it doesn't come out "mean". Yanno?

Oh, did I mention this was CHRISTMAS DAY when this happened? Guarantee it was the first time I ever cried sad tears on Christmas day (and we were poor as kids so that's saying a lot LOL) and it was supposed to be the happiest place on earth!

Anyway, after we returned from that trip, I found this board, read all the wonderful things and saw how that was NOT how a character greet should be- I wrote to WDW and they wrote me back and then called me... and I talked to someone "higher up" and they offered me on our next trip (I had planned to go back in Jan myself on a solo trip and then we had already planned a long family trip -onsite that time/only WDW that time instead of US/IOA also/etc.) that he would have us meet with Mickey again and promised it would be different that time.

It was wonderful and made up for the first time (even though really the "first time" can't ever go back and change it, yanno? But I'm healing slowly but surely. :lmao: ) - we had a meeting with Mickey our first day at MK on that trip and then they had us meet (without lines- took us back ways into rooms!) some other characters and Cindy (Rita was in :cloud9: ) and Goofy even got Jeff to laugh at him! (for my non-disney husband that's huge...) and we then got to go with the CM they had managing this to take us the back way to ride Goofy's ride and they gave us a special moments certificate from Mickey and they took tons of pictures of us with Mickey and those characters and gave them to us for FREE. (it was a total of about 6 or 7 pictures, the rest were on my camera anyway) It was a very special meeting, not unlike your daughter's/her friends with the princesses.

So that's why I say- Disney may not be perfect... but they do give it the good old college try- to make it up to you if they mess up.
:thumbsup2

Hi MR:thumbsup2 I wish I could go back to read the chat last night. I look at my keys when I type so I missed so much.:sad1:

Hey Cheryl I've been catching up so I don't know if your still up but I wanted to tell you you did great in chat!! You kept up with those chatting for a long time. Don't worry what you missed, it isn't even possible when looking at the screen the whole time to read it all anyway! It is fun though isn't it. Getting to know everyone in "Real" time!

Hey There Shelley!! Thanks for checking in....you have alot of people praying for your speedy recovery. I just saw your "cake" quote and I am so sorry you are going through this Pal :grouphug: :grouphug:

Okay just about caught up and calling it a night!

Good Night Friends!!

I have, but like you am trying to respect peoples lives outside of DIS. Now having said that, in the case of BIP, we all knew something was going on specifically. I think that if someone who is a regular poster was missing for an extended period of time, one of us would eventually ask if anyone had heard from them.

Yeah .... I kno... and I agree, if we had someone sort of dissappear for an esxtended period I KNOW something would eventually be said. Somehow - somewhere. Sad thing though is with just under 1000 posts a day (or every other day) I wonder who would catch it being said? I have resorted to PMing folks when I think I've crafted a particularly funny posting which is tailored for someone. I figure - it was intended primarily for ONE poster - and public for all to share with too.

At any rate... my prior posting which you replied to was really more poking a little fun at the idea while offerring a "late" explanation of sorts. I honestly did notice their absences - but chose not to say anything (yet). When Lisa returned I believe I was on hand for one of her first few postings and I took it upon myself to post a welcome back thing. I must have missed the moments when toher folks returned.

Oh well... :) I think it's understood we all mean well... eh?
