Fun YES! But you couldn't get everyone to buy both black and white shirst and now you want them to buy a 3rd??? Good luck with that one.

I'm already planning my purchase though.

Hey its one less outfit you need to plan for dinner .....This makes it easy ...We are buying ours as well .....

I had mentioned a few weeks ago that my ds12 is very passionate about animation/cartooning. Here is a drawing he whipped up this morning and I thought I should share it with all of the Disney fanatics I know! Sorry the quality isn't the best, I don't have a scanner, so I took a picture of it.

I think it's quite clever.....I had never thought about Peter Pan having to stop for directions....

Richard called..the CHP arrived and he made it off of the freeway..unfortunately, he has advised me he is going to work since he was almost there. When he gets there, I am going to talk him into coming home and getting his back checked. I know he is frustrated as we just got the car out of the shop a week ago from the last fender bender..both times he has been dead stopped on the freeway and people weren't watching and hit him. The car is only 2 months old and I know he is really frustrated. I will feel better when he gets checked out.

Thanks for your thoughts....I appreciate them.

Hope all continues to be okay!

I love it  ! The Mickey head antenna bopper is a great touch also.

One more from me this morning :lmao:

Someone asked me about shorts in the dining room so I asked about this. Shorts are allowed in the dining room, provided that they are the longer dressier shorts (they don't want you to look like you just came from the pool).

No speedos then?

Hi everyone..

Could you do me a favor and think good thoughts for DH..he just called..and said someone hit him on the freeway (brand new car - believe it or not..he was hit only a few weeks back and we just had the car fixed!) He is waiting for the police to show and he says his back hurts...he says he is fine but stuck on the freeway at the moment. I am nervous that he is stuck on the freeway..will be glad when the police arrive and he manages to get off the freeway and home. Says the car is still running but damaged.

I looked on the traffic site in our area and found him!

How scary.. is he okay/ Is he going to have it checked out at the ER?

No speedos then?

No! I want to enjoy my dinner :lmao: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

Do your boys always wear long pants to the dining room? Or do they sometimes wear nice shorts? I'm having trouble finding reasonably priced slacks for DS9 that fit him - he wears a SLIM size because he is so insanely skinny. (9 years old, 51 inches tall & 52 pounds!) The slims are almost never in our stores (regular and husky only - I guess they don't think there are skinny kids :confused3 ) and I haven't found anything with a good price online. He doesn't fit any pants from last summer, so one pair of black pants is all he's got right now!

Kids being sent home early due to excessive heat (and some schools without a/c)

Hey M, like the East sweltering heat?

DD's school is 2 stories and built in 1939. No air. DD said that the teacher has 4 box fans going and it is still hot. Yes, dd is on the 2nd floor.

Commercials can really be embarassing around the kids. What do you all think about that new "Swingtime or Swingtown" show that is going to on Thursdays:rolleyes1

I have no desire to watch that. I did see the other commercial yesterday on the travel channel and got distracted and saw the end of what it was and thought yuck! I don't know about things anymore. DD use to say cr*p alot and I would tell not to stop. Then we are at a Girl Scout function and her learder was saying it. I said to her, that's where she got it from and the leader says it's not a bad word! I said not really, but it's not something to use in polite conversation!:lmao:

Schools are closed here but because of the flooding, not the heat. State of emergency is Southern Wisconsin :worried:

The main lake in Wisconsin Dells is spilling over it's banks. They fear they will lose the lake completely. Three houses have fallen in. The lake is rushing toward the Wisconsin River (along with the three houses!). :scared1:

Wow. You guys sure have gotten it. Stay safe.

Great News from DCL on Luggage!!!!!

The information that was given to me and numerous other people over the weekend and late last week pertained ONLY to the resorts! Disney Cruise Lines (at least for now), is still allowing 2 pieces of luggage per person to be checked with the onboard airline check in

I will check back again in late July about this but as of right now even if you weren't grandfathered, you will be able to check two pieces of luggage. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yes! Yes! Yes!

Hope everything turns out OK. I was rearended once too, not fun.

OK back to the salt mines!

I have always had the same problem with ds12. I always thought they were just sold out of all of the slims. :confused3

I have usually had good luck with Old Navy and Gap, because in addition to carrying slim sizes, they also have the adjustable wait bands in many of their pants for boys.

I will probably pack a couple pairs of khaki pants and his black suit. he can mix, match, and reuse shirts for dinner. We are also planning on doing laundry since he still uses his clothes as a napkin :headache:

Personally, I think nice shorts for your ds on nights that are not Formal or Semi-Formal would be fine. But then again, what do I know....I am in the shunned section!

We drove by the Sunrise hotel yesterday while driving to dinner. I told my wife to take a good look. She said that it was OK, nothing special. For one one night it may be OK. I don't want to give you an endorsement since we just saw the outside.

Thank you, Roger. That's sounds good enough for me.::yes::

He has an appt with our Dr for this afternoon..he says his back is spasming.

I hope he is okay Des. I was rear-ended years ago, and had to sleep on the couch for months because I would wake up in so much pain. For some reason the couch (I think because it was so cushy) made it feel better. :confused3

I have a similar problem - 10 year old DS who weighs only 60 pounds and is 54 inches tall and who his dr refers to as "one of gods skinniest creatures". I did find 10 slim pants in Super Walmart for him that have the adjustable waist. They were very reasonably priced (like $12 or so) They came in black, navy and khaki. I bought one of each pair and he also has many pairs of the long plaid quick silver shorts that I bought polo's to match. He will also wear those to dinner some nights.

LaTanya - I missed your original post - our prayers are with you and your family. What a terrible loss.

Grown Up Princess Night
2nd Formal Night (Ballroom Under the Stars)

The poll is complete and the 2nd Formal Night has won (looks like M's campaigning was succesful :rotfl2: )

Second Formal Night Praises Semi-Formal Night as Grown Up Princess Party Rallies Around It

RALEIGH, N.C. -- Hours after Semi-Formal Night conceded, the reunification of the Grown Up Princess Party continued as Second Formal Night was joined by prominent Semi-Formal Night supporters in a speech here.

"I just want to take a minute to thank Semi-Formal Night for the kind and generous support it offered on Saturday," Second Formal said at the start of its speech here to a crowd of several hundred. "Semi-Formal ran an historic campaign that shattered barriers on behalf of cruise ship theme dinners everywhere who now know there are no limits to their dreams. And more, it inspired millions with its strength, its courage, and its unyielding commitment to the causes that brought us here today -- the fancy gowns, the long gloves and the sparkly tiaras."

That praise of Semi Formal Night, Second Formal's first public remarks since Semi Formal left the race, came after Pdarrrah introduced Second Formal by saying "I know I'm late but I'm on the train." Pdarrah had backed Semi Formal in last month's primary here, which Second Formal won easily.

Also in attendance for the speech were Pirate Night, Mexican Night, Mickey Mouse Club Night, and the former Tropicalifragilistic Night.

My kids wear long pants, but I'm not offended by others in shorts.

I have skinny boys as well. DS8 is wearing 5T & 4 regular shorts!
I buy most of my skinny boys pants at Old Navy (great sale prices) since you can adjust the waist. Target has some as well.

As for the DCL show on the travel channel, I ran to the living room to turn it on when I saw the post. I pretended that I was flipping through the line-up guide when I saw it. I called my FI in to see the show with me and acted like I had never heard of DCL. It was pretty funny! He also got something in the mail from DCL with the logo prominently displayed on the top. I'm sure he knows I figured it out, but I'm still playing along for now. hee hee hee :rotfl2:

:lmao: :lmao:

OMG!!!! that one came on while we were watching one of the old INdiana Jones movies with DD10!!!! We have just about decided we will DVR everything so we can skip through commercials!!!! What are they thinking?????? You guys are not alone, count DH and I in!!!!!!

I was wondering what they were thinking myself!!! I really don't need my kids asking questions all the time! LOL!

I just don't see anything on TV that would be supportive of the kind of kids we desire our kids to be. Either it is too violent, has many s** connotations, or is just fluff (no thoughts needed . . .LOL). However, we do discuss this topics and it really burns me that even Rush Limbaugh is allowed to cuss occasionally (and the kids point it out, too . ..).

Okay, down from my soap box . . .I miss the Lone Ranger and the Beverly Hill Billies . . .LOL:hyper::hyper::hyper:

I agree! :thumbsup2

It totally :furious: me to be watching a program with the kids and then all of a sudden a totally unappropriate commercial comes on. By that time it is took late and the kids already saw / heard what you didn't want them to. Has anyone seen the commercials for the new tv series coming to CBS called Swingtown? They have got to be kidding and they show the commercials for it during prime time. I couldn't change the channel fast enough one night while watching tv with the kids

I hadn't heard abou this show but, a friend told me this weekend about it... Is this really what we want our children exposed to????

I am so sorry to hear this! Unfortunately we know about flooding....

Whenever I see something about a Queen..I think of Tori...when she was about 5 ..we were in the car and stopped at a light and she said very sincerely and with great thought...Mom..when I grow up..I don't want to be a Princess...I want to be the Queen...the Queen has ALL of the power. I laughed so hard..I missed when the light turned green.

That sounds like one of my girls!! :rotfl2:

I hope that the Dr is able to help him So many times with back injuries there isn't much they can do -- btdt!

It is VERY good! Does he enter his stuff in any contests??? I can't wait to show this to my kids!!!
