Welcome to the "shunned section":thumbsup2

I will have a difficult enough time to get DH in a sports jacket,.. so hopefully we won't offend anyone..

As long as he desn't show up in a muscle shirt and speedo, he'll be fine! ;) ;)

I really didn't catch up very much...but sending good thoughts to those who need them right now....

Chrissie

Please say a prayer for my cousin and her family. Her husband was killed in a motorcycle accident early this morning. Today would have been his 43rd birthday. They have three daughters (16,13 and 10).

He just got home from Iraq about two months ago.

Omg, I'm so sorry. :sad1: :grouphug:

So here is what happened tday!

I had to go to the mall to exchange shorts that were broken (the zipper didn't work!).

While I was there I popped into Macy's to see if there were any new markdowns...(2 weeks ago the dress I was stalking in my size was gone :worried: )

So strolled into Macys and what do I find...MY DRESS!!!!!! IN MY SIZE!!! It was marked down again..so it went from $170 marked down tday fro 39.99!!!!And I had a coupon!!!!!!!!Final cost!!! $30!!!!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
(now that's shopping!)

Yippie!!!

Chrissie

My DS10 has the 3:45 100 degree game!!:scared1:
So glad my kids are done with little league:rolleyes1
I remember freezing during the fall night games-going home to get blankets and gloves:faint:

Hello everyone . . .just thinking about cruising (instead of working!). Got back from our state homeschool convention yesterday. Only have one more trip home to see my parents and then we can truly focus on our big TOAL .. . well and there is the expectation that our house will sell and we'll move between now and then, too.

Have a wonderful day!
Hope it all works out:yay:

Best thing with Chris' game, worst they can finish is second place.... its championship, so fingers crossed.
fingers crossed:thumbsup2 ::yes::
Tell him we're rooting for him:woohoo:

Well, looks like we will be moving to the shunned section of the ship. Can't justify the expediture for 3 tuxes or extra packing room for three in the limited luggage.....

So we will not be doing tuxes for the formal nights....
I was wincing over the cost of 2 tuxes, if we had to get 3 I would probably follow suit:confused3

I'm sure it will be a mixture of different things. We'll all be staring at the folks in the cut off shorts and dirty t-shirts on formal night;) Want to bet how many of those we'll see:rolleyes1

And so I bid you all a fond adieu!

In case you wonder what might have become of me, I'm turning off my computer in a couple of minutes and heading out of town for my annual retreat.

I seriously doubt that I'll have any internet access while at the retreat house, so I'll come back on board when I get back this weekend.

See ya . . .
Have a good time:wave2:

Saying a prayer right now.

We will join you! DH will bring one suit - it will do for formal, semi formal and palo dinner nights. I will bring two or three dresses and that will do me. i figure DS MIGHT dress up one time with a tie but that will be it for him. Honestly, SINCE IT IS VACATION, we will just decide as we go. Last time we skipped formal night for topsiders and had a wonderful family dinner. I know........ instead of formal dinner lets all just meet up at the bar in our shorts and t-shirts! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

I hope I have not missed anything. I have not had time in the past week to get on here much. Next week is the LAST WEEK of school - WOOHOO!!! We have our classroom parents coming in on Tuesday for a year end celebration. I have been working non-stop on a slide show for them. I just set the music to it today - I used the Brother Bear soundtrack as it was so appropriate for my special kids. I made the copies so I think I am all set. Everytime I watch it I get teary eyed, I am going to miss these kids.

I am sending out prayers to all who need them as we are in need as well. DFIL has Parkinsons, we were to take him on our cruise last Jan. with us but due to complications we ended up going without him. Since then he has a difficult time with his "systems". On Thursday he failed a Barium Serum (swallowing) test. They actually stopped the test early as they were too afraid my FIL would aspirate his food. The only option for DFIL is a feeding tube. He is still at home with DMIL but I am not sure how much longer she will be able to take care of him. I am not sure how a feeding tube works, all i do know is my FIL loves to eat so this will be a difficult process for him & us.

I may not be around here for the next week, we are extremely busy since this is the last week of school - DS has exams and DD has her speech to give for SCA reporter. We also have my classroom party, DD is flying up to Junior Girl Scouts, DD9 first swim meet is this friday & DS11 will go to a babysitting certification class. One more week...........just keep swimming, swimming, swimming, just keep swimming........

I was just telling my DS that you also had a DS that didn't like to smile for pics and lo and behold we get to this one:rotfl2:
What a great pic:thumbsup2
Thanks for posting them:cool1:

Thank God I'm not the only one:thumbsup2
I think Mike and I were both saying that a big part of the fun was the anticipation and planning. Once the cruise starts--it's the beginning of the end:worried:
So relieved to know I'm not the only one worried about this:)

I'm so excited about the cruise and planning things for DH & the kids that I am totally dropping the ball on planning the WDW portion afterwards.... and 24dd is really looking forward to making this lots of fun for her dh.

We will add your FIL (and MIL) to our prayers. My grandfather suffered from Parkinsons for many years.

.....

My Mom had parkinsons. We pureed her food for while and that seemed to work. She also had a thickener too to make it the right consistency so she could swallow it.. If it was too liquidy she would choke too.. i am truely sorry that you have to go through this. Parkinsons is just horrid and my poor Mom was trapped in a body that didn't work for her and her mind was fine so she knew what was happening.. just a terrible disease.. she suffered so long and just kept getting worse year by year/ month by month:hug: I will keep your family in my prayers...

Congrats Chrissie.. that is great... a beautiful dress at a great price... Woo HOO:thumbsup2

Good evenin' pirate:s We had a great weekend, but good golly am I tired.

Spent all day Friday at Busch Gardens - great day to go. We didn't wait in line more than 10 minutes and at about 7 pm they started leting us just stay on some of the coasters. It was hot for a few hours, but otherwise great.

Saturday was water park day - we stayed at Great Wolf. Fun stuff! Then we had to go into Yorktown to pick up my race packet so we had dinner & went back to the slides.

Sunday, up at 0430 for a 7 am race start. I'm not a morning person, but boy am I glad the race started at 7. It was 90 degrees by 9 am. I hate hot.
But Yay Me! I met all three of my goals for the triathlon:
1. Finish!
2. Under 2 hours (1:42:40)
3. Not last in my age group

This was my first open water swim & I had a really tough time - it took me about double time it should have. I really wasn't freaked out, but just couldn't regulate my breathing, which is pretty important in meeting the 'don't drown' umm, I mean 'finish' goal.

650 meter swim, 12 mile bike, 5K run before 9 am. Then I had barbecue and a beer. Triathlons are really just an excuse to drink before noon. :)

We went back to Great Wolf for a few more hours & I was even able to get myself up the water slide steps.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Please PM me if I missed something important.

Hey everyone.............remember me? It is sooooo hard finding the time to get on this thread. I start a new job tomorrow. I am really getting in over my head with lot's of stuff.

I will be in a real pressure cooker for the next couple of weeks. Once I get things going it will be my responsibilty to find someone to take over while I am gone in Aug.

I am very concerned about all of the problems with the airlines. My Mom works for Cont.... and they are laying off 4,000 people. Hopefully she will be safe.

An airline cancelled my DD flight for June 26th.:scared1: We are going to work out a way to just go and pick her up.

Still trying to get through all the red tape of a neighborhood watch and still running for board of directors of our homes association. What was I thinking?:faint:

I did find some nice thong shoes for formal.:thumbsup2 Will try and take a pic. I haven't found dress or gloves yet.
