I had to get out the hankies for this one.
I am a sucker for a preemie story and clicked on this one;
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25063903/.
Turns out it was the same great hospital Megan was born and the Dr's in the story are the same ones Megan had almost 12 years ago. The Dr. Swinndenerman (sp) was not Megan's Dr. but he was brand new low man on the todem pole so he was almost always the one I got information from on Megan.
Megan had the same heart surgery and intestinal surgery one of their babies did as well. Their kids were 1 lb 2 ozs and Megan was a big 1 lb and 5 ozs.

Also the drug the mom has - Magnesuim Sulfate- was the same I got and I was titled back for 3 weeks. I gues I am extremely lucky I did not get sick like her.

It's so sad to read that! I can't even imagine having a micropreemie even though I saw a bunch of them in the NICU. My first Drs office said the extra fluid just happens sometimes and the midwife didn't even think it necessary for me to see the actual Dr in the office. In this town, there's 1 OB/GYN and 1 midwife. They're the only ones that deliver babies... Then we were told the worst right before DD was born - severe clubbed feet, severe neurological problems, might not live, MOM might not survive the labor, etc, etc. The were TOTALLY wrong! Those were the Perinatal "experts" too...

There was no magnesium sulfate for me there was just water water everywhere and then she was comin.

Here's the picture of our matching shirts from the last cruise. That's the first time we all wore matching shirts -- even my in-laws joined in. The sling's from my rotator cuff surgery two weeks prior to the cruise!

They say 'Troop Treece'.

Hope we remember to get pictures! Thanks for sharing :)

Hello Everyone,

Just wanted to drop by real quick and let you know we are still alive and kicking. I know everyone here must be getting so excited about the Repo Cruise, I know you are all going to have a MAGICal time.

Below is a link for pics that were taken last evening (6-13-08) at home and at WDHS Convocation last evening (6-13-08) of Angelina and the Class of 2008. I will be adding more pics to this album after Angelina's Graduation ceremony this coming Tuesday June 17th. I still need to work on the tags for the pics and hopefully I will be doing that over the next few days.

Hey Andy:wave2:

Paula thanks for all the hard work. I was leaning towards #3 but I see it doesn't include a trip to his shopping mall????
That's what was holding me back from #3 as well. I wanted to emerald shop at Mr.Emerald's store, but I also wanted to see the Las Bovedas:confused3

Wristband update.
Here is a list of all who have ordered as of right now. I just update my spreadsheep! He He!
Thanks so much Tina:thumbsup2
On that note, I apologize in advance if I appear tackily clad on embarktion day. I am either going to be wearing a pirate shirt way too small or too big. I was really confused on the sizes.

Coral
I've seen girls tie the ends of t-shirts with elastic hair ties. Ok, they were in middle school, but it would solve the problem of a too big t-shirt:confused3

The ones that say better shopping are where the emeralds are. But there are also other stores there for shopping--coffee and leathergoods stick out in my mind. #3 is shopping in the dungeons--they have the hand crafted souvies. From CC

Paula, If I wanted to send my family back to the ship after tour #3 and go by myself to Mr. Miles store to emerald shop, would I have time to do that ? Would anybody else want to share a cab and do the same ?

Good afternoon everyone!

Well, it only took 3 weeks of my spare time but I finally finished our fishextender. He's a sample:

WOW:worship:
I've always run short of patience for projects like these;)
It looks great:thumbsup2

I am really footwear challenged. On one hand I hate shoes but on the other- realize they are a necessity.
My savior in this lifetime dillemma is when The Walking Company opened up near me this year.
So far I have a pair of wedge heels for the 1st time in a VERY long time. I now wear them to work and I honestly cannot tell I actuallty have heels on. They are by Sofft.
The 2nd pair I bought from them was a pair of Teva leather sandals. I was anticipating wearing these on excursions since they are weatherproof. Then.... I started reading where a lot of excursions recomended close toed shoes. Back to TWC I go for shoes that meet that criteria.
Bill and the girls have new Keen's and they all love them. So I was looking into those. I wanted a certain style and lo and behold- Online they had the leather Keen's (still waterproof) and they were even $20.00 off so $75.00 instead of $95.00. :cool1: Yay me!!!
Good news is you do not pay shipping from the store but the bad news is they will probably not be here by next Sat when we leave for WDW.
Oh well, good thing I have those Tevas. ;)
We bought some Keens from our local sporting goods store. I need close toed shoes as I have a habit of stubbing by big toes a lot:headache:

Thanks so much to all those that prayed for our family. Emma is doing much better. It was quite a scare but the infection was caught early. She is so fragile that the little things are turned into big things real quick. Whew!:)
Glad she is doing better. CF runs in my DH's family. He lost a cousin when she was very young, but another cousin is still around and in her 50s. She had a lung transplant a couple years ago and is doing well last I heard.

Scrapbooking!

How about Day 5 (Thursday, August 21) as the day we do the scrapbook swap? In the afternoon around 2 or 3? Or in the morning around 11?

To email me add @aol.com to my screen name.......We can start keeping track of who wants to participate.
Sounds good. Maybe better in the afternoon to avoid conflicts with Palo brunch, but not too late. Drink Tastings might be at 3pm:confused3 So how about 2pm :confused3

I used to love going by the NICU when I worked in a hospital to see the babies. So small, but so amazing:lovestruc

G'mornin' pirate:s
Last baseball game today. Wow. No scouts, no CCD, no hockey (at least on weeknights), no baseball, maybe we'll be able to eat dinner before 8:30 pm!

Thanks. I'll have to bang on them. I guess they have a double secret grandfather clause.

M, someone here gave me the heads up to check with AirTrans customer service. I'm totally blanking on the name, but I wouldn't have sent in the email if she hadn't have posted that she also bought her tickets in January and was not getting charged the fee for the 2nd bag.
So Thank You to whoever that was:yay:

Here's the response I got:

Those are all the exact reasons that my first thought was *2 pm*. :)

Don't forget to email me @aol.com!! :)

Well......

The alarm woke us up at 3am (PDT), caught the 6:40am flight to Atlanta, and then the 3:30pm to Columbia. I'm now in my father in law's place on Lake Murray.

For the TOAL, I wanted to do a time lapse movie of the transit, so I bought a new Canon P/S which has this facility built in. I tried it out on the 30 min flight from ATL to CAE. Here's the result: Atlanta to Columbia in 2mins 25 seconds.

Andy

Which Canon is it? I want to get a new one for DH and that is an awesome feature...

Well..the Mickey Mouse Club t-**** isn't going to work...the blue background doesn't look right on the t-**** we bought..so we are doing different ones. We decided to do fun ones for our Vow Renewal day:

I will transfer them on the shirts when I get back from vacation.

Cute picture....

But that text placement creates an "ODD" off-center look to the image. Why not take the text and put it above and below a "centered" image.

(Sorry there's the design geek in me coming out)

Hey everyone thought I would do my monthly posting.
My DH and I saw the travel nurse today and wound up with 3 shots, typhoid, yellow fever, and the flu shot. The first 2 were ones recommended for the countries we are going to be in, the flu for being on the ship. She said we could take malaria pills as well, but we didn't see where it was going to be necessary on the maps she gave us. We are going to see what our DR thinks though. She said with being on a cruise ship we probably wouldn't really be at risk, but better safe than sorry.
61 more days until we leave, and I can't wait.

That's ok..I appreciate the comments. I didn't print anything yet because I wasn't completely happy with it and figured when I get back from vacation I would have a better outlook..:rotfl2:

I will try your suggestion.

Typhoid and yellow Fever are recommended for the countries we are going to? :scared1: I asked our Dr. and he said that we didn't need anything....I didn't see anything from DCL..were we supposed to get certain shots?

I had asked my doctor, and she said I didn't need anything additional as well . . . don't worry about it. If they were truly necessary DCL would send out information suggesting them. Some people's physicians are probably just being super cautious, and that's fine too.

OK first off I posted it just to say what we got not to alarm or insenuate that anyone would NEED them. So if I have panicked you I am so sorry.

I don't think you need anything, our travel nurse went to a certain website and looked it up. It was strictly precautionary and she said that we didn't have to get them since we are on a ship and the risk was very low, and since we didn't have to pay for them, so we figured better safe than sorry.
I just looked at the travel packet and the yellow fever was for Colombia, and the typhoid is in general due to the countries we are in and the fact that it is a contagious disease. Flu was just for the ship. And a according to the maps malaria isn't needed in the areas we are going to.

Thats ok..I was just going to be bummed if we did because I had checked with the Dr. DD is a pain when it comes to shots and I thought it was going to be a struggle to get it done if our Doc was wrong...no problem! :)

What was recommended was the Hep B (which we started in Feb) but that is something that would be of help in general no matter where you live.
