8/17/08 Captain Jack's Repossession Repo Cruise to PC thru TPC #8

:rotfl: One of the reasons that DH wanted to move was that he was FINALLY going to let us have a pool (he has never allowed a pool, swingset or trampoline since those are the top 3 reasosn kids end up in the ER) and then we bought a house with no pool! But, his parents are building next door and they are building a HUGE pool -- I had a gate put in our fence when it was built. :rotfl2:

So I need a pool.....

I got all excited........I got Mickey Mail today. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Then I realized it's for the Sept 1 cruise that I had to cancel.

But the package is so much better than ours. Has an addendum stating when Pirate Night and Formal Night are.

I got it, too, Monica -- I also thought it was better than the repo mailing -- what's up with that????:sad2:

wow, you all are amazing! I introduced myself a couple days ago, was not on again until today, and you added over 50 pages to the site! How long does it normally take you guys to catch up each day with postings (obviously showing how much of a newbie I am :) )

Don't worry about catching up if you get behind . . all information that is relevant will be posted on the first page or the pirate zone . .

WHEW!!!! Now that I think I have really found the end of this thread...
We are going on the cruise as of today!!!!
There will be my DH, Me, and our DDs ages 17, 15, 12 & 8.
I am going to try to catch up to speed on some of the important things that have deadlines.
Anyone have an abreviated list? Like t-shirt orders, exscursions and such?

Welcome! As others have said, look to page 1 and the first post for lots of useful info . . .

Mysterious Husband Marty Says thank you to all of you for the birthday wishes... Now where is that Chocolate volcano cake you sent with the wishes....

"Marty" just doesn't sound as mysterious as I had made him out to be!:rotfl: :rotfl:

PM me with corrections or additions, please!

What a day!

Any of you north of Chicago know what I'm talking about.

I'm in Mundelein, IL these days on a seminar (going back home tomorrow).

Today was one of those "postcard-perfect" type of days: baby blue skies, cotton puff clouds, 62 degree but sunny and feeling of warmth.

Just a great day to be alive.

So what if I'm still a GTY. So what if I cannot wait for August 17th to come around. So what if I cannot keep up with the fast pace of our pages.

It's just a pretty day and that was enough for me! :goodvibes

You must have brought the nice day here.:thumbsup2 We are about 25 mles soutwest of Mundelein. Weather here should be 72 average for this time of year but going to be warmer for the weekend. Hope you liked your visit here!! Wave as you go past my house!!;)

Oh my so does my DD who will be 6 and three quarters come the trip. There will be no explaining it to her!:scared1:

Maybe you could beg a little!!!:rolleyes1

I have not had a good stretch of work here this week. We are in the midst of remodeling our pharmacy department and we have now been moved into an area that would resembles a goldfish in a dixie cup. Even worse yesterday a group of 6 people show up to do physical inventory. :scared1: Today the State Board of Pharmacy shows up and I think they are a couple of drug reps and give them the brush off. :scared1: :scared1: Yesterday the IT department was crawling all over our department and interfering with my DISing :rotfl2: . Seems like every time I logged into the DIS they would remotely access my computer. :sad2:

Anyway, I have seen some posting about baggage and wondering if anyone else has figured out the AA policy yet. The first announcement that I read had the May deadline but I thought we were grandfathered in since I bought them back in Oct or Nov. But now looking at their policy on line it does not look that way. Anyone else have the answer. I did print my passenger contract prior to the change.

M congrats on your genetically altered son. :woohoo:

Sorry you had a bad day!!!:flower3: :flower3:

Almost a riot at O'hare when people found out about the baggage fee from American. People interviewed at the airport were very angry!!:headache:

Thanks, I will be so glad when it is finished. :cool1: Cheryl I went to 4.099 today, really needed to go to 4.159. My cost today is $3.9100. :sad1:

Going higher tomorrow.:sad1:

Sounds like a great deal! I can totally relate to the not liking shopping. I can't tell you when the last time I was at the mall.

I would be glad to shop for you !!:woohoo:

: Now that is just ridiculous. I would much rather see them increase the darn fares instead of charging extra for everything.

So would I!!!
.

Hey, dude . . . I've seen that on lost of different venues already. I didn't take any offense. I thought it was rather Hillaryious.

I guess we have the same sense of humor!!:goodvibes

Did you ever have those days were everything goes RIGHT? Yesterday was one of those days for me...

We fired up the pool pump last weekend and was not working properly. Now, DH's only job with the pool is to get that pump going and I do the rest for the entire summer. To say we were having some heated discussions (he was being a typical guy - ya know, like a man asking for directions), about him refusing to call a professional to ask for opinions, is an understatement. Well, he finally asked and figured it out yesterday. Plenty of time for me to clean it up and heat it for the summer-like weather that is coming in this holiday weekend.

Had a teacher meeting - DD got a less than stellar progress report. They send these out in between the closing of the marks. Well, turned out to be no big deal. She had missed a couple of assignments from an absence and just being lazy. That, I can handle/fix. Then, more importantly (I know, priorities), I had not mentioned anything about the cruise yet. She will miss the first three days of school. She is in "Looping" and will have all the same teachers next year. Even though I know they are pretty cool teachers, I was still a little nervous about bringing it up. Well, NO PROBLEM. Her Social Studies teacher will give an assignment related to Panama Canal (which will be fun stuff - he gives weekend homework like hug a tree and stuff like that), and the report we are going to do over the summer and cruise on the PC will be perfect. She will present it to the class when she returns. Whew - one more thing out of the way for the cruise.

Then off to my first follow up with the Onc. Dr since treatments completed. I have been officially been declared.......CANCER FREE!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Got an appt for my 6 month follow up.

It has been quite a winter and I want to say Thank you :thanks: to all my DIS freinds who have offered up such wonderful support through postings, PM's, cards, a little surpise gifts. It is appreciated more than I can ever express :grouphug: :grouphug:

The "Neighborhood Ladies" are taking me out to a local pub Friday night to celebrate. Since I have a designated driver I think I may just have a drink...or two :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :faint:

Congrats on your AWESOME NEWS!!! I'm so happy for you and your family! Have fun going out with the girls!

It takes me for-EVER. I've never caught up from falling behind somewhere around the 15,000th post through 108,000th (+/- 3,000) where we more or less are now. That is - although I'm sort of a regular around these parts - I've missed maybe 5-10% I'd estimate.

As for catching up on these past 50 pages you're talking about - I guess the answer lies in how attentive you were in that Evelyn Speed Reading class you took, oh.... you DIDN'T take that class? Oh well.... :confused3

At any rate - I'd recommend you just catch up with what ya can - enjoy yourself - and post (multi-quote maybe) as you like. Sometimes I multi-quote and sometimes I don't.... it's that little [ " ] button at the bottom right of every posting next to the "quote" button.

Also, if ya wann post images - I can send ya a long winded tutorial if you're interested - just let me know and I'll PM my version over to ya!

OK... so Prince Caspian was a very LONG movie - and a bit predictable. But the girls all had a blast! Well - for the little one this was true up until the point where she fell asleep in my arms in the theater.

I gotta go make supper for the family now. Not sure what I'l make though - I might have to run out for some fresh groceries to prepare something.

I may return later this evening....

Attention Pirates and Wenches!!

It's really not THAT big a deal, but I got your attention.

I'm not going to be around now for a while. Deadline is coming up for the wedding and all.....need to be finishing things up and getting ready to go. I'll only be back for a couple of days and then leave for the 6-8-08 Magic Mexican Riviera...whoo hooo...

Anyway.......still not sure if or how I will be able to post any kind of report. Maybe I will start a trip report on that Board.....anywho.....if anyone has any specific questions, my e-mail addy is in my profile.

Will pop in when I can......

CARRY ON.......
Hey Stace:yay: We'll miss you. Can't wait to hear how it all goes. Good luck:goodvibes

I would like to suggest I am still a somewhat INNOCENT SWABBIE in this matter.... [/CENTER]
I found it funny Crash:hug: It's been a tense year for politics though.

Thanks all!! This birthday was actually quite depressing and I normally don't take birthdays that hard. Although I'm trying to stay upbeat, I just have a hard time saying I'm 40.
Yeah, I wasn't thrilled when I turned 40 either:headache: It gets easier after that:upsidedow

It rained here:guilty:

Wow - it didn't take 4 phone calls to get that!!
:lmao:

I know! It just showed up, and with lots of information including which night is pirate night and which is formal night . . . why so much info for a short 5 night cruise when we can't get much for the 15 night????

Oh, well, it was fun to get this one . . .

Now have stateroom number, excursions nearly sorted am getting down to the very serous business and cannot find the answer.

Can anyone tell me or has seen on the blog from the E/B the wine prices and list. Need to know how to plan the cost of this also.

Bren

No room here yet! :sad1:

Yanno, I still don't have my information for this cruise. Good thing I knew when Hassle Free booking night was. They let me book, so my money must be good enough for Mickey. Wait...they didn't let me book. Esteri had to do it for me. See, Mickey really does hate me.

Happy belated Birthday!

I've been practicing saying "I'm 40" for the last couple of weeks as well as the "40 is the new 30" and neither has made it any easier. Tonight my DS (13) asked me if I was going through a mid-life crisis, I asked him what gave it away.

I heard today that even though Prince Caspian was the #1 movie at the box office this weekend, it had the worst opening this weekend in over 3 decades.

Hi M - Looks like you are getting your wish at the moment! pixiedust: Current results:

Folks in Chicago, you know how this works, vote early and often.

I had my crisis at 34.

I have the muscle car, tatoo, and race finisher t-**** to prove it.
