Thank you! I have to admit that I love martini's!

I do tend to check every day but don't usually have time to post every day.

I love the flavored ones, not so much the real ones. Appletini, Cosmo, etc is my preference....woooo whoooo.

WHEW!!!! Now that I think I have really found the end of this thread...
We are going on the cruise as of today!!!!
There will be my DH, Me, and our DDs ages 17, 15, 12 & 8.
I am going to try to catch up to speed on some of the important things that have deadlines.
Anyone have an abreviated list? Like t-shirt orders, exscursions and such?

Glad you found us!

LOVE YOUR AVATAR! I have vista and I have about 10 different martini glass images that do a slide show on my desktop! I'm new at this, but the DH has been talking you everyone out here months, months, months (you get the idea!) Do you check every day?

Okay, so then we are doing the martini tasting, right?

I have a good question or a good point... How can the airlines charge us for luggage that we can't take on board. We can only take 3 oz of 3 items of liquid. Heck what about men and ladies bringing razors and shaving cream. I can't go a week yet alone a 3 night stay with no real shampoo, hairspray and mousse...

Are they making us go without makeup as well,, lol Can you imagine what
we will look like as a society.. Now I have to pay $50 more for the price of beauty..lol:rotfl: along with my makeup because they wont let me take these items on board....gotta love it.....:confused3

Then off to my first follow up with the Onc. Dr since treatments completed. I have been officially been declared.......CANCER FREE!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Got an appt for my 6 month follow up.

It has been quite a winter and I want to say Thank you :thanks: to all my DIS freinds who have offered up such wonderful support through postings, PM's, cards, a little surpise gifts. It is appreciated more than I can ever express :grouphug: :grouphug:

The "Neighborhood Ladies" are taking me out to a local pub Friday night to celebrate. Since I have a designated driver I think I may just have a drink...or two :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :faint:

Mary Annn that is great news.. CONGRATS!!!

What a day!

Any of you north of Chicago know what I'm talking about.

I'm in Mundelein, IL these days on a seminar (going back home tomorrow).

Today was one of those "postcard-perfect" type of days: baby blue skies, cotton puff clouds, 62 degree but sunny and feeling of warmth.

Just a great day to be alive.

So what if I'm still a GTY. So what if I cannot wait for August 17th to come around. So what if I cannot keep up with the fast pace of our pages.

It's just a pretty day and that was enough for me! :goodvibes

I work in downtown Chi.. so hard to say if it was nice.. but glad you enjoyed the day. BTW my parents used to live by you in Cal City

Congrats on getting a cabin & welcome aboard!

I can honestly say that I can't catch up! I usually go back and read the last 4 or 5 pages and will sometimes go further back if I see something that I want to read further or comment on.
Yep.. I don't try to ketchup... last few pages and then a hello..

:

Well, I had a very exciting afternoon. My son and his school were taken to our CITY HALL and the Mayor gave a proclamation to them re: their Mock Trail Championship of our REGION. They came in 3rd place this weekend. Over 600 schools and over 8500 students competed... It makes a mom so proud... Then we were on the news as well. I got 4 phone calls in a row.. Like my family didnt know I was there as well...lol

That is very exciting. You have reason to be proud, Mama!! Congrats!!

WHEW!!!! Now that I think I have really found the end of this thread...

:welcome: :welcome: :welcome: Yep, like others said, head over to the piratezone. It is much easier to keep track of all the planing stuff that is going on.

wow, you all are amazing! I introduced myself a couple days ago, was not on again until today, and you added over 50 pages to the site! How long does it normally take you guys to catch up each day with postings (obviously showing how much of a newbie I am )

Sometimes, I never catch up. I just jump into the conversations going on at the time, so just jump on in

I got all excited........I got Mickey Mail today.

Then I realized it's for the Sept 1 cruise that I had to cancel.

But the package is so much better than ours. Has an addendum stating when Pirate Night and Formal Night are.

:sad1: : Sorry you had to cancel your cruise. Now, doesn't that just make you crazy? They have their nights announced and we just sit here waiting...past the Hassle Free Booking Night, no less :headache:

Happy Bee-lated Birthday Christopher (KSDisneyDad)!!!

img_1038.jpg

pirate: 'ing to wish you a HAPPY 40TH!!!!!
Attention Pirates and Wenches!!

It's really not THAT big a deal, but I got your attention.

I'm not going to be around now for a while. Deadline is coming up for the wedding and all.....need to be finishing things up and getting ready to go. I'll only be back for a couple of days and then leave for the 6-8-08 Magic Mexican Riviera...whoo hooo...

Anyway.......still not sure if or how I will be able to post any kind of report. Maybe I will start a trip report on that Board.....anywho.....if anyone has any specific questions, my e-mail addy is in my profile.

Will pop in when I can......

CARRY ON.......

Stacey, have a great time at the wedding and your cruise. You will be missed :grouphug:

Hi all. I'm back from our road trip mini-vacation! How was the Hastle Free Day? I got tired of trying to ketchup. Man you were busy while we were gone!

Yep, we were *busy* discussing how wonderful that "hassle-free" booking worked out for all of us

I am hoping my DD doesn't find out. She is 11 and will be one of the ones in Quest for the trip. She loves sleepovers.

Same with my DD (12). She lives for sleepovers. Perhaps they will have one in their age group too :confused3

OK, I gottta go now but before I do so ...

An Open Apology...

I'm terribly sorry "XXX".

I am NOT the smartest swabbie. Your opinon must be shared by others ( that my posting of the Hillary NUTCRACKER was less then ideal )- and to all I must post an open apolagy. And I will now.

I meant no harm - as you must know. However, I also may have inadvertantly implied a single grating POV which was not really my intent. I was just looking for a nut cracker image - and this one popped up - and it struck me as unique - different - perhaps entertaining and approximately the right dimensions to fit the page. Something difficult to find sometimes. It did not cross my mind that it would be all that contentious.

Without mentioning you by name - I will post an open apology now.

I really gotta go now or risk disappointing the kids.

I would like to suggest I am still a somewhat INNOCENT SWABBIE in this matter....

Aww, Crash..:grouphug: :grouphug: I am innocent (this time)

I got so frustrated in Walmart this weekend that I left my cart in the middle of the aisle and walked out. Called a friend and told him he needed to take me out for a drink! I was bumped into twice, had people walk in front of my moving cart 4 times, and had someone roll their eyes at me when I said "Excuse Me" so I could get through the aisle. This was all done by employees!!! Then there's the list of rude customers, but I expect that when I go there.

I can certainly relate to what you are talking about.....Even though our local Walmart has the best prices, by far, I can no longer tolerate their total lack of customer service.

I know that there had been some discusion on the pirate zone boards about a hummer limo tour on the saturday before the cruise. But my mom and I may not be abvailable to join in on that. Has anyone looked into other tours like grayline or starline?

I've never been to LA so we'd like to hit the major sites....

Are you talking about a different date? I wish I could make the 8/16 one too, but have to pick up the luggage (also known as DH :duck:) that morning. I would perhaps e interested in a different date.

You also need shoes. It's not quite West Virginia.

Shoes, did someone say shoes? If there is anyone that is an expert on shoes, it is J.R. ...or was that SWMBO :scratchin :scratchin :scratchin

I don't think I booked anything for myself that would involve actually walking... I hate to sweat so, if I can avoid it, I do! LOL!

I saw on the planning boards that alot of you booked the walking tour in Columbia....... You know it's hot, right?

we plan on getting some of these...

:yay: ..mag., that's news..worth....:drinking1 ..raiding..the rum!

ps, before its all gone.

Sorry, Lil Grumpy...you got lost/overlooked in my last quote.....:thanks: :thanks: for your well wishes

OMGoodness....she has been using her thighmaster!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

No worries. You never offend me. I appreciate your kind thoughts and inspiration. If I have to put up w/ a couple of pictures of Cheryl beating John or a Hillary Nutcracker (liked that one)- so be it. :lmao:

My dad is big time Hilary supporter and he LOVES the nutcracker -- he bought a couple for his sisters that also support Hillary.....
Yeah and they are Athiests, right??? :scratchin ;) - ETA- that's the IL's. Guess your Dad can have his nutcracker.
We are, too. We fly in the early morning of the 17th......
What are you flying and where are you staying the 17th?

Hey, dude . . . I've seen that on lost of different venues already. I didn't take any offense. I thought it was rather Hillaryious.

Another good one ;)
I hope you aren't giving us your best and are saving some of your wit for the cruise. :)
I have to admit I was a bit intimidated when I found out a Catholic Priest was going to be on our cruise but now I really look forward to meeting you.

Hopefully we can get to say hello:goodvibes
I'm so happy for you. DH gets to see his Dr tomorrow .
I hope so too. I will send you my cell phone number when it gets closer and we can see what we can do. :thumbsup2
Good Luck to your DH. I will be thinking good thoughts for him.

You can check more liquids- just not in your carryon.

Members of the Packing Crew may pick up their orders in person on Packing Day - 2 July.

Argh! I've changed my mind!

PM the Quartermaster (Esteri) or send an email via the contact form in the cart. Let me know what you want to add (or delete) and I'll let you know where your stuff is in the process, and how we can handle it. No spoiler here, but why are the AI winning songs always so carpy?? :scared:

M congrats on your genetically altered son. :woohoo:

Thanks.
I think.

I hope your week gets better Roger!

I'm in my *mid* forties...which I will be unitl the day I turn 50! :rotfl2:

ITA! I was in my early 30's until the moment I turned 35. Now I'll claim mid-30's until the moment I turn 40!

--- oooppss I forgot to hit submit this morning ------:rotfl:

WoW! Your own personal time warp. Awesome.

Now where did I leave my flux capacitor?

But the package is so much better than ours. Has an addendum stating when Pirate Night and Formal Night are.

Wonder how long until they all go that way... I guess I'm glad we just used up most of our miles. Southwest is still allowing 2 bags per person, so we're good, at least for the cruise :) But here's another thought... Aren't people going to just try to carry everything on now? Are they going to start charging for overhead bin space too?

Just give them time. Between the airlines and TSA we won't be able to carry anything on anyway.

I had to call DCL yesterday for something else with the cruise and the rep was so nice I decided to ask about our "special nights" just in case something had been announced. She looked for a while for me and couldn't find anything really except an internal communication telling them (the reps) to "check back soon" becasue it was going to be announced "any day now."

A week late and thousands of dollars short

I was told the special night was the BALLROOM UNDER THE STARS on the night before CASTAWAY CAY... Also, when asked what it was.. she said you pull out all the stops for a grandballroom attire..:confused3

allshookup... thank you for the BDAY greeting to my DH MARTY...:cake:

Well, I had a very exciting afternoon. My son and his school were taken to our CITY HALL and the Mayor gave a proclamation to them re: their Mock Trail Championship of our REGION. Welcome to all the new pirates and familes... Its tough to catch up.. but just go to the first page for a quick recap..

Congrats to DS! How exciting. Some of my favorite undergrad classes were debate & courtroom rhetoric. It's amazing how those skills transfer to so many career paths.

I'll admit to being TOTALLY excited about Ballroom Under the Stars, Fish Under the Sea, whatever. I hope it wins the GROWN UP PRINCESS POLL!

Okay, so then we are doing the martini tasting, right?

Did someone say martini tasting?? :upsidedow

I have a good question or a good point... How can the airlines charge us for luggage that we can't take on board. We can only take 3 oz of 3 items of liquid. Unfortunately they can charge for whatever they want as long as enough people will pay for it. I am so over air travel at this point. We're driving next summer.

Thanks, MrsScooby. I got a quote of $96 at the Sunrise Hotel. Anyone heard of it?
I haven't heard of it, but it's only for one night, right ?

Then off to my first follow up with the Onc. Dr since treatments completed. I have been officially been declared.......CANCER FREE!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Got an appt for my 6 month follow up.
That is awesome to hear Mary Ann:goodvibes  Makes you appreciate all the good stuff even more:woohoo: Take it easy on the booze though;) :rotfl2:

What time are you getting into San Pedro?? :confused3 Looks like I might get to make the dinner with all of you!!:woohoo:
:woohoo: :thumbsup2 We're there too:dance3:

I've never been so proud to be a WENCH!
Go wenches!!!

These are the best words I have ever read to live your life by!! I know its long but very interesting and true!!
Love it:thumbsup2 I put it up at work. Thanks Cheryl.

I don't think I booked anything for myself that would involve actually walking... I hate to sweat so, if I can avoid it, I do! LOL!

I saw on the planning boards that alot of you booked the walking tour in Columbia....... You know it's hot, right? ;)

Hoping for a less than sweltering day:confused3 I really want to see the city:woohoo:

And you probably have people blaming the remodel for the higher prices I'd bet.

Monica, I hear all kinds of things. :sad2: But it makes me feel good when my customers tell me how they like things.

I got all excited........I got Mickey Mail today. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
Then I realized it's for the Sept 1 cruise that I had to cancel.

But the package is so much better than ours. Has an addendum stating when Pirate Night and Formal Night are.

I agree! It couldn't have been that much trouble for them to give us something like that:confused3

:yay: :yay: A big welcome to both of you. There is NO WAY I can keep up with the thread either, but it is fun to try.:)
