Did you ever have those days were everything goes RIGHT? Yesterday was one of those days for me...

We fired up the pool pump last weekend and was not working properly. Now, DH's only job with the pool is to get that pump going and I do the rest for the entire summer. To say we were having some heated discussions (he was being a typical guy - ya know, like a man asking for directions), about him refusing to call a professional to ask for opinions, is an understatement. Well, he finally asked and figured it out yesterday. Plenty of time for me to clean it up and heat it for the summer-like weather that is coming in this holiday weekend.

Had a teacher meeting - DD got a less than stellar progress report. They send these out in between the closing of the marks. Well, turned out to be no big deal. She had missed a couple of assignments from an absence and just being lazy. That, I can handle/fix. Then, more importantly (I know, priorities), I had not mentioned anything about the cruise yet. She will miss the first three days of school. She is in "Looping" and will have all the same teachers next year. Even though I know they are pretty cool teachers, I was still a little nervous about bringing it up. Well, NO PROBLEM. Her Social Studies teacher will give an assignment related to Panama Canal (which will be fun stuff - he gives weekend homework like hug a tree and stuff like that), and the report we are going to do over the summer and cruise on the PC will be perfect. She will present it to the class when she returns. Whew - one more thing out of the way for the cruise.

Then off to my first follow up with the Onc. Dr since treatments completed. I have been officially been declared.......CANCER FREE!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: Got an appt for my 6 month follow up.

It has been quite a winter and I want to say Thank you :thanks: to all my DIS freinds who have offered up such wonderful support through postings, PM's, cards, a little surpise gifts. It is appreciated more than I can ever express :grouphug: :grouphug:

The "Neighborhood Ladies" are taking me out to a local pub Friday night to celebrate. Since I have a designated driver I think I may just have a drink...or two :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :faint:

Congratulations!!! What a wonderful reason to celebrate!

Attention Pirates and Wenches!!

It's really not THAT big a deal, but I got your attention.

I'm not going to be around now for a while. Deadline is coming up for the wedding and all.....need to be finishing things up and getting ready to go. I'll only be back for a couple of days and then leave for the 6-8-08 Magic Mexican Riviera...whoo hooo...

Anyway.......still not sure if or how I will be able to post any kind of report. Maybe I will start a trip report on that Board.....anywho.....if anyone has any specific questions, my e-mail addy is in my profile.

Will pop in when I can......

CARRY ON.......

Best wishes for a wonderful wedding day! Make sure you post a link to pics!

What a day!

Just a great day to be alive.

So what if I'm still a GTY. So what if I cannot wait for August 17th to come around. So what if I cannot keep up with the fast pace of our pages.

It's just a pretty day and that was enough for me! :goodvibes

LOL - I talked with my mom today and said I had great news for her. (She's been bugging me about whether or not they have a room yet.) She was all excited then I said - you're still in the GTY room with all the other pirates. :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: For some reason, she didn't think that was funny. :rolleyes1

Thanks, I will be so glad when it is finished. :cool1: Cheryl I went to 4.099 today, really needed to go to 4.159. My cost today is $3.9100. :sad1:

And you probably have people blaming the remodel for the higher prices I'd bet.

OK- Listen up folks- American airlines has decided as of June 15th to charge for the FIRST bag checked :scared1:
Does not say if they are grandfathering exisitng tickets yet. They better! :headache:

something special in the air

I got all excited........I got Mickey Mail today. :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Then I realized it's for the Sept 1 cruise that I had to cancel.

But the package is so much better than ours. Has an addendum stating when Pirate Night and Formal Night are.

Have a great, great, great time

I was teasing...thus the smilie. ;)
but... you quoted me where I was replying to M&M not you! LOL

We would love to swim with you! The IL's won't have a pool next door until next summer...... The house won't be finished until the Fall! :)

I'll PM you all my *details*

Isn't that the truth!!!! We're smart enough to know when to come inside! :rotfl: :rotfl:
sho you right... mama don't raise no fools down here. LOL

read your pm in just a minute. :) :)
this is our first time to have an inground pool- since Nov 2006. I wonder if I'll remember that date forever. Hey having a pool in your backyard in Texas is a momentus occasion you don't forget. LOL

I have not had a good stretch of work here this week. We are in the midst of remodeling our pharmacy department and we have now been moved into an area that would resembles a goldfish in a dixie cup. Even worse yesterday a group of 6 people show up to do physical inventory. :scared1: Today the State Board of Pharmacy shows up and I think they are a couple of drug reps and give them the brush off. :scared1: :scared1:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yesterday the IT department was crawling all over our department and interfering with my DISing :rotfl2: . Seems like every time I logged into the DIS they would remotely access my computer. :sad2:

Anyway, I have seen some posting about baggage and wondering if anyone else has figured out the AA policy yet. The first announcement that I read had the May deadline but I thought we were grandfathered in since I bought them back in Oct or Nov. But now looking at their policy on line it does not look that way. Anyone else have the answer. I did print my passenger contract prior to the change.

M congrats on your genetically altered son. :woohoo:
.

Hi all. I'm back from our road trip mini-vacation! How was the Hastle Free Day? I got tired of trying to ketchup. Man you were busy while we were gone!

Wonder how long until they all go that way... I guess I'm glad we just used up most of our miles. Southwest is still allowing 2 bags per person, so we're good, at least for the cruise :) But here's another thought... Aren't people going to just try to carry everything on now? Are they going to start charging for overhead bin space too?

:rotfl: One of the reasons that DH wanted to move was that he was FINALLY going to let us have a pool (he has never allowed a pool, swingset or trampoline since those are the top 3 reasosn kids end up in the ER) and then we bought a house with no pool! But, his parents are building next door and they are building a HUGE pool -- I had a gate put in our fence when it was built. :rotfl2:

Mary Ann - that's WONDERFUL!!!! Congrats!

What a day!

Any of you north of Chicago know what I'm talking about.

I'm in Mundelein, IL these days on a seminar (going back home tomorrow).

Today was one of those "postcard-perfect" type of days: baby blue skies, cotton puff clouds, 62 degree but sunny and feeling of warmth.

Just a great day to be alive.

So what if I'm still a GTY. So what if I cannot wait for August 17th to come around. So what if I cannot keep up with the fast pace of our pages.

Work stunk,it was grey and overcast, and we're still gty BUT...it's only 84 more days until we leave for CA!

I had to call DCL yesterday for something else with the cruise and the rep was so nice I decided to ask about our "special nights" just in case something had been announced. She looked for a while for me and couldn't find anything really except an internal communication telling them (the reps) to "check back soon" becasue it was going to be announced "any day now."

Good evening everyone - going to try to ketchup - had 'puter problems yesterday and even though I have a laptop I spent most of the day trying to get it fixed. It isn't 100% fixed but at least it is working much better

Any computer savvy people out there?

Anything exciting come up today?

Congrats to everyone on birthdays, anniversary, and to Magiroux for being cancer free :cool1:

Don't know if this blog has been posted but here is another from the WB
