I am so excited!

Our TOAL is PAID IN FULL!!!!!!!!

Now the big question . . .what cabin do we get? Has anyone else paid and gotten their GTY changed?? My TA (Dreams Unlimited) said she would try to get me a room when she did the final payment, but I guess there still weren't any!

Would love to hear if anyone else has seen a change :)

Can't believe we're only a 90+days out!!

Yeah!!

See ya'll soon!

There is a Woot Off going on today for those that may be interested.

:wave2: all - today has been an experience.

Had the flight from heck but at least I am here. :yay:

Laura, hope you got some rest and are refreshed today. Travel days really aren't fun. Enjoy the meet and your cruise:goodvibes

What was the estimate? To have one dress taken in at the sides (I ordered it big) hemmed, and the shoulder straps shortened, it is costing me $115. :sad2: But, to shorten a skort, a top and the straps on another dress, all three were $50. Seems like a lot to me, but I don't know what the going rate is.

Stace seems like I paid $14 to get a pair of pants cutt off and hemmed a few years ago. I have one too I need to get taken in and if it is upwards of $100 it sure isn't the bargain I thought and I'll just return it:scared1:

Puerto Vallerta: either dolphin swim together as family OR eldest daughter dolphin trainer for a day with me as observer since I'm not interested in doing all that stuff but parent has to be there atleast as observer cost. She wants to be a marine biologist when she grows up and specifically work with dolphins- so this would be a taste of that! She has to get those grades up for last 6wks of school though... we'll see.

If she does that trainer for a day with me as observer- not sure what the other kids will do but probably on ship- DH scuba diving alone... or possibly DH and son doing extreme amphibian together. Poor youngest DD can't do a whole lot of stuff at her age/size on this cruise. :(

Bip, I think Desiree posted that the dolphon trainer has been cancelled. :(

on the planning boards we have been trying to see who is going at what time to help with transportation, etc. If we have missed you, pop over and give a post with your details.

Just got back from the taylor. First dress,no problem...take in 2" on each side and hem. Second dress(Black and White one) needs more done. It's a 16W and I really needed a 20W,so he has to add in a good size chunk at the sides (the "girls" don't fit ;) ) and hem it up.

Kind of a bad day in some ways - and maybe a good day at the same time. Yesterday I had a very busy day as I had several calls from folks I do business with and they were either asking odd questions until finally I uncovered that they were asking indirect questions related to someone I had business dealings with about 7 years ago. It seems this "person" was approaching several colleauges with some kind of "business" proposal of amazing merit.

Well... I severed my relatonship 7+ years ago because I had unconvered that this "person" had a very very dark and desperate heart - and in brief was deemed to be a litigation hazard in the extreme. Sometimes, it takes a little while to fully reveal / uncover what seems to be the truth about someone.

OK... so I did some research on current activity for this "person"... and I discovered without being surprised - but at the same time I was deeply saddened to uncover the details. So I found that this "person" has had litigation begun against him for his dealings in a Ponzi scheme that has defrauded individuals of an estimated $300 million. The chief behind this operation is already behind bars with the FBI awaiting final court proceedings - but the "person" I'm talking about is still free and named as a harming party. One of two leading sales people in the deals evidently. I wonder why these dummies didn't have the good sense to change thier names?

So, one specific example cited a senior resident in his 80s who was led to obtain a mortgage on his home to invest the proceeds in this Ponzi scheme. The poor fellow lost $275,000 and is struggling to make mortgage payments in his 80s!!! How can anyone do something like that to someone in his 80s?!?!? And the data I've seen cites that these ponzi scheme sales people were primarily targeting senior citizens. This is really bad despicable stuff.

It burns me up to see things like this - and to think that the people behind this do it ... for WHAT!? Because they NEED the money? No... as I understand it they just pile it up and blow it on silly material escapades. It's not as if someone were building a self perpetuating scholarship or helping someone terminally ill. Of course - my suggestion that anyone would prey upon others to actually HELP anyone is preposterous... I know. I've sort of always thought that beyond a certain level of wealth - any excess is superfulous.

At any rate - it almost gives me a headache to think about how I'm going to deal with this info with regard to my colleauges - except to simply pass along those elements that are FACTS in this matter - and remind everyone that we have no need to involve ourselves with someone whos' been tainted for near a decade (or longer) - and now appears to be clearly neck deep in the filthy muck of their own creation.

This is not the 1st time I've seen sales people turn nasty and predatory with a ponzi scheme or other bad conduct. In both Ponzi scheme instances a recent bypass surgery procedure led the individual I knew to turn extremely bad. It seems when someone who is mildly suspicious to begin with stares their own mortality in the mirror - they figure nows the time to act without ANY regard for their actions.... and in the process destroy as many as they can in pursuit of something I don't really understand. it defies any reasoning I can seriouisly imagine.

This sort of thing really annoys me - just like the idea of the young girl in Kansas who wired $10K to thieves overseas. Good thing the bank people refused to follow her demands to wire more until she spoke to the police.

These scum really are a drag on our culture advancing into a higher (or decent) state for all.

Forgive me for rambling.... it just leaves me in a near indescribable state.

So why is this a good day? Because I caught wind of this activity and I'm going to put a stop to it sucking in anyone I know in business (as best i can).

I need to get some chicken soft tacos.....

First of all, I will remind you I am in the mortgage industry. SO, being that the company I work for has not been in the news (whew) and we are basically taking over numerous transactions for people whose original lender has gone out of business or is in the news too much...

I have heard stories that are truly mind boggling. Some things some lenders (or realistically their sales people, mostly brokers) have done to consumers is just horrific! There are many many good people in the industry on both the banking and brokerage side, but the bad apples just seem to be able to ruin peoples lives to make personal gain, and they just don't seem to care! UGH! I will spare you the details, but DOUBLE UGH! The worst part is the because of the depressed home values, there are many that we can't help.

Secondly, GO CRASH! If you can save even 1 person from financial downfall, GO! :woohoo:

I'll tell you my embarassing story....24dd (21 at the time) convinced me that I needed a size *L* for a type of underwear I wanted at VS. I tried to tell her that even though she thought I was big that a woman that wears a size 6 can not wear a *L*. She convinced me that with that style, fabric, ya da ya da.

A few days later I am walking out of CVS and I feel my undies *fall* fast. I nearly always wear skirts........ I called her... I think she snorted she was laughing so hard.....

I'm in. (Well, if it fits into my crazy family calendar!)

:)

The date for the mini-meet is Saturday, July 12th. This is the weekend of our "Railroad Days" festival and there will be fireworks that evening. Being close after the 4th, we get a really good display - the fireworks company rewires the "duds" from the 4th and we get them as a discounted price which means a longer, more spectacular show for the money the festival folks spend on it.

The festival also has a carnival (surprisingly really good last year - clean, friendly, good assortment of rides!) and shows. The headliner for the 12th is Micky Dolenz of the Monkeys. There are food booths which include your typical festival stuff and some of the local restaurants.

I am trying to convince Dan (DH) that we should try and have a cookout at our house for lunch that day and then we can all head over to the park for the late afternoon/evening. Right now, he is doing a lot of construction and yard work so it isn't really a good time to get him to agree to company! I'll work on him once a couple of the projects get done!

Maybe I can sweet talk you into babysitting my camera..... not sure about leaving it in a locker...

Sure - I can babysit another camera! Dan is going to take our point&shoot on the zipline, but I'll be keeping my XTi down on the ground with me.

Cabo, I have done the glass blowing factory before, with Princess cruises, it is very interesting and nice to view, but its over and done fairly quickly, and then to the shop to purchase glass, good for kids to see, but not a long tour, unless changed.

Thank for the info Andrew! Is the only glasswork they do there blowing or do they use other methods as well? We tend to be rather interested in glass since my parent's hobby is making stained glass windows and DH collects glass (mostly depression glass, some early American glass).

Stace seems like I paid $14 to get a pair of pants cutt off and hemmed a few years ago. I have one too I need to get taken in and if it is upwards of $100 it sure isn't the bargain I thought and I'll just return it:scared1:

Wow! I guess I really owe my mother. Since I am completely inept at sewing (DS9's cubscout badges are about as good as I get) she always hems up my slacks. Since I am short, most pants need to be shortened. Every so often, I will find "short" length that fits - but if they are "petites" the waist is usually too high for me. "regular" fits me better everywhere else, but tends to be 6" or so too long! At $14 per pair for the last 25 years (I don't think it was as much a problem when I was a kid) I must owe her hundreds by now!

Pamela

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2: I'M snorting!! I'll admit that this IS basically what happened to me the other day......maybe if we just wore those "string" things, it wouldn't happen. :lmao: :lmao:

Because then our *hiney* cheeks would hold it on! :rotfl:

I consulted the calendar and as of right now, we have nothing. I think the only thing that may come up is my son's Little League tournament will be going on during that timeframe. With the whole bracket win/loss etc. We may not know when he is playing until we get much closer. Even if he plays, unless it is the championship, we would just probably have some of us go down and dad can stay home with DS.

What city is the gathering. We love fireworks, so if we go, we will probably get a hotel for the evening. (It would probably be a 1.5 to 2 hour drive home.)

Thanks, I look forward to this! :)

Discount dud fireworks....Sounds Dangerous:thumbsup2 ...where's this meet again?

This is not the 1st time I've seen sales people turn nasty and predatory with a ponzi scheme or other bad conduct.....

Of course, I still think Social Security is the biggest Ponzi scheme of them all. :sad2:

Being in the financial services industry, I get to hear the stories too. I know a couple at my church that loss around $50K on some scheme involving investing in phone cards. Unfortunately, like most victims, they were too embarrassed about it to really pursue it with authorities. They actually sympathized for the guy that took their money and were trusting him to try and recover some of their money. There are at least two large mortgage fraud cases locally. One had the mortgage company working with clients to refinance...when the check came from the new lender, the mortgage company owner cashed it and never paid off the client's original mortgage.
