Had to pirate:
;)

Just ran across this for Jolly Pirates

I would not hesitate to take my kids on Jolly Pirate.

Two weeks ago we headed to MooMba Beach on Palm Beach for Jolly Pirates' "Sail, Snorkel, Swim, and Swing" from 9:30am to 2:30pm. You can easily get to Palm Beach via taxi for $10 or via local bus for $1.30 per person. There is a free shuttle from the ship to the cruise ship terminal. To catch a bus, simply exit the terminal, turn right, and cross the street to the Bus Terminal --- an orange building with white columns and benches. Take the #10 "Hotels" bus. Palm Beach has several stops. Get off at the Holiday Inn, walk through the lobby to the beach, turn right, walk about 100 yards to MooMba Beach. Jolly Pirate's office is just behind the large thatched roof beach bar. Check-in for Jolly Pirates was at 9am. It's $53 per person (less a 15% online booking discount) plus tip. We set sail in a pirate ship for three snorkel sites: two reefs and a WWII sunken German cargo ship. We also got to enjoy swinging off the ship into the ocean. We were fed a very tasty lunch which included pork ribs, chicken skewers, pasta salad, slaw, fried banana and a roll. The free bar offering up rum, whisky, Pirate Poisson, Pina Colada, sodas and water, was open the entire trip. Snorkels, masks, vests, and fins were provided. This is a very fun excursion for all ages. Recommended! Hint: if you are just looking for a nice beach, consider Eagle Beach which is on the way to Palm Beach.

A warning about re-booking an onboard ressie... Unless DCL changes their policy, you have to *call* them for a change in date. This is why I wasn't online on in January 2007 to book this cruise. I hated the idea of trying to take up two cabins only to cancel one of them, but it ended up killing us on price.

The new ships would be awesome - I'm planning on trying to get onto one of the inaugural sailings myself, but I hope DCL cleans up their ressie system first.

Ooooh, you're right:sad2:
That also limited our options when we wanted to transfer the ressie to the repo:headache:
Hadn't thought of that:confused3
Maybe I can talk some family into a trial cruise before one of the inaugural ones:rolleyes:

I heard back from them - they refuse to give us a refund. I told them that I will never fly with them again - they hoped that I would reconsider. I don't think so. So now back to me being vindictive and packing the largest suitcases, carry-on's and personal bags that I can. And to be completely honest with you, this is the same stuff I that I would of packed anyway but checked in the large carry-on's so that there would be more room for other's but now Delta has basically made it impossible for people to do this.

That's such a cute age:lmao:

Tom, what a beautiful place. It really needs to be on our list of places to see.:goodvibes

WOW, they look like postcards:thumbsup2
Jealous of you folks that travel so much;)

So many breath taking and thought provoking places to see around the world. What a trip, eh? When I was growing up my family ran thier business 7 days a week every day of the year - and it used to be a "fantasy dream" of mine to go camping or visit places like Yosemite - because all the other kids would talk about going camping and vacationing to national parks and so on. And we NEVER went on vacation - just a once a year buying trip to Hong Kong and sometimes China. And usually I would not go... so please don't be jealous as I'm making up a bit for a wasted youth without vacations of any sort! So we more or less never went anywhere except to work.. consequently I grew up thinking it was OK to work EVERYDAY all the time. And Paula, I know you run a 24/7 enterprise... < wink > ... so I kind of understand how that can be.

I think I've mentioned before how I've often told Alicia how I'd love to get into a business again like the one I grew up in. I miss handling CASH and all the HORSE TRADING! However, Alicia knows I'd be perfectly happy running it 7 days a week all year long - and shes' insisted we NOT do that - and continue with having vacations and time off every now and then. Sometimes I think I'm going batty from lack of engagement with my free time.

Now I've ONLY been to Yosemite 3x in my life. This one time last week - once before about months ago... and the first time was about 18-20 years ago with Alicia. If only I were a truly artistic photographer good enough to capture the kind of images I admire so much.... sigh.

For me there are truly sooooo many place I still wanna visit - many really are kind of modest in nature (Grand Canyon, WDC, NYC and AUS/NZ) - and a few exotic and complicated (I'd like to go sky-diving AND scuba diving some day). And even some are somewhat unrealistic - like I'd like to go into space ... and yanno - the prices are really coming down on that.

At any rate... when ya think Disney will have a shore excursion of a suborbital space shot from Cape Canaveral?

I wanna get a tatoo! Just a little one in an inconspicuous place. Kevin says "One idiot in this family is enough!" :sad1:

I actually would like a tattoo too - however I don't have the muscular arms to properly enjoy the kind of Maori style arm tattoos that seem interesting to me.

db_therock-side-081.jpg

Besides - I don't think I could handle the withering looks Alicia would give me....

... so maybe just a little one would be a wise consideration, eh?

Something like this one below maybe?

PLEASE let the forecasters be wrong..... they're saying we may have up to six inches of the fluffy white stuff on the ground by mid-day tomorrow.:headache: I like the weekend forecast better-- upper 60's and 70's by Monday.:cool1:

Love that image!!! Don't know why, but it's just so cool!

It's gonna be 70's here tomorrow!!! :cool1: Sorry don't mean to rub it in, but it's suppose to be rainy & carpy here over the weekend so it's a trade off!

Oh Crash,
:lmao:
One of my friends was going through something of a mid-life crisis and decided on the barbed wire around the upper arm tattoo. He was soooo proud of how his barbed wire went all the way around his arm rather than just half way. Apparently most people don't have the tattoo go under the arm because the skin is more sensitive there. He did get me considering to get one myself around my 40th birthday. I couldn't find anything that I liked enough to make permanent though:confused3

I will see your 70's and raise you. Going to be 90 :cool1: Saturday and Sunday.

Hey -

My DGkids love the idea that I have tattoos' - I have permanent eye liner (which are tattoos!)
However, I am thinking about getting a "real" tattoo - I need to talk to a tattoo artist - something w/ my DGkids names & hearts or .....? I told the DGkids about it and they want to go w/me to pick out just the right one. Melissa (DGD) is very artistic and is going to start designing some for me!!

Some people have an attitude about tattoos - frequently negative! I happen to have a wonderful friend who has an elaborate tattoo over quite a bit of his body - it represents a wonderful love story. It's beautiful.

It is a personal decision - if its what you want - do it!!!

(caveat: while I am a "grandma" - I am also from the "60's flower power" generation!) Peace & Love !!!
