Okay........The flu finally made it my way here. I was up all night and now DH is on his way home with it!!!

We need to have warm weather here.

I had an uneventful drive from L.A. to S.F. But, after having a fun get together w/DS & all DGkids - including dinner out - I got food poisoning!! YUK!! So, now playing ketchup - here and w/my "to-do" list.
We were going into S.F. today to watch the Olympic torch relay - but that got nixed also.
Although a bit chilly - the weather is great and just going to be nicer and Warmer!!

Sorry to hear that both of you are under the weather. DD7 has reinfected the crud around our house too.

I ordered what was on the TX website as birth certificates for passports.
I am used to the "raised seal" ones. I am not sure I received the correct ones.
The Title is "Department of State Health Services. Vital statistics Unit".
It has the girls name, Date of Birth, Place of Birth, Father, Mother etc..
The verbage at the top says it is a "Certification of Vital record".
It is too late to go to the post office tonight, just wondering others thoughts. Does this sound like the documentation to use for passports? It definitely is not what we used last time we got their passports.

All documentation submitted as evidence of U.S. Citizenship will be returned to the applicant. Evidence documents will either arrive with the issued passport or in a separate mailing to the applicant. You may prove U.S. Citizenship with any one of the following:

Previous U.S. Passport (mutilated, altered, or damaged passports are not acceptable as evidence of U.S. citizenship.)
Certified birth certificate issued by the city, county or state

NOTE: A certified birth certificate has a registrar's raised, embossed, impressed or multicolored seal, registrar’s signature, and the date the certificate was filed with the registrar's office, which must be within 1 year of your birth. Please note that some short (abstract) versions of birth certificates may not be acceptable for passport purposes.

I've been listening to the news re the Olympic torch relay. It's just as well we didn't go - we had planned to take the ferry over to the city - thus being right at the Ferry Plaza - the announced route. Apparently they changed the route to avoid the protest groups - we would have missed it!!!!

They are headed your way now across the Golden Gate (watching it live on the internet). Edit: Looks like they stopped on Doyle Dr. Might not cross the bridge after all.

Good thing you didn't go. You would have been stuck in the crowd and not see the torch at all.

Not sure what the price is but I've heard it's rediculously(sp) high.

I just got off the phone with Delta and they stated that I had to put the request in writing through the Delta.com website - just did. They were completely uncooperative and I told them that I would never fly them again and tell everyone I know not to.

I did mention that their website still doesn't say anything about the change and the official answer now is that because it doesn't affect people until May 1 there isn't a need to put out that info yet.

It really is a shame that they are treating customers like this. I just can't understand why. I guess because they can, some folks will say nothing because its easier. Good Luck, keep us posted.

I heard back from them - they refuse to give us a refund. I told them that I will never fly with them again - they hoped that I would reconsider. I don't think so. So now back to me being vindictive and packing the largest suitcases, carry-on's and personal bags that I can. And to be completely honest with you, this is the same stuff I that I would of packed anyway but checked in the large carry-on's so that there would be more room for other's but now Delta has basically made it impossible for people to do this.

Thanks for the well wishes!! Last week we had the "crud" DGS Matt (7) brought home!
It was easier to get over food poisoning!!
