Still none for me!

But on the plus side, the fish extender that we ordered off eBay came today, and it looks cute. Much better than Linda and I could have made.

Me either. Our TA got my parents but ours was not with it.

I have been looking at the FE ebay options. There are 2 we are trying to decide between. Glad you were happy with yours.

I know ZIP about NASCAR.
If you had the chance to drive 4 blocks to get Jimmy Johnson and some other NASCAR guy's autograph, would you do it?
They are going to be at my local Jimmy Johns's (Can you say "I would like a #1 w/ all veggies?" Yum!!!) this afternoon signing autographs. I have ZERO NASCAR memorabilia for them to sign.
I was telling my cousin about my old neighbors that would have the most obnoxious NASCAR parties. He said "I love NASCAR". I said "That is because you are a redneck hick". Every summer at our family reunuion we collect all NASCAR stuff we can and trade it back and forth. He knows I hate it so it is the running joke!
What can I have them autograph?

I wouldn't drive 4 anything for Jimmy Johnson, but depending on who that other guy is, I might do it.

DS is a big fan, and I put up with it because I like to look at the pretty cars and the pretty drivers. LOL.

Hmm....what to sign? Sometimes the Dollar Tree and Big Lots have Nascar items...or Walmart. Maybe just print a Nascar logo or #48 (Jimmy's number) and have him sign that? Usually when there is a signing, there's also a trailer with souvenier stuff too. You could just get something there. How about a beer helmet since it's a running redneck joke??

Take your car and have him autograph it. :lmao: Think of the resell value.

Ok, you laugh, but when Mario Andretti does signings at his winery, people do ask him to sign their cars.

I laugh more at the thought of Mario having a winery than I do at him signing cars.

The beer connection is good- especially if it is really cheap beer. I have heard of the other guy but I can't remember it. The only reason I remember Jimmy Johnson is he has the same name of the old Cowboys coach.

Update/funny comment relating to my special "kiss" I received this week.

Dad came to pick up today and said "So, I hear he has a girlfriend?"
I said "Well, he is just a sweet kid!"
Dad said "Well, I hardly ever get one from him at home. You do a great job with him.Thank you!"

Chrissie

What a great "Thank You!" You still must be on :cloud9:
Thanks for continuing to share your story.

WalMart ... no, seriously. The WalMart in Acapulco has a HUGE liquor store inside. The first plan was for the Dad's to go to WalMart and stock up with adult type beverages, while the Mom's took the kids sight-seeing (I've been to Acapulco before). I really wanted the kids to see the Cliff Divers and I'm still holding out hope that the 1:00pm is supposed to be 1:00am ;) I just know that with a lot of sea days and canal crossing day coming AFTER Acapulco ... the bar bill for our group might reach really :scared1: numbers without a trip to WalMart :rotfl2:

Any idea if the one in Puerto Vallarta does too?

Character Meals
Our favorite is Goofy's Kitchen, they do brunch and dinner. But brunch starts at like 7:30 or 8am, so it really is breakfast.

We've done Ariel's, Lilo and Stitch and Plaza Inn when it was princesses, it's Minnie and friends now. We did not have a pleasant experience at any of those. Although others have had great times. The only one we have done but it does consistently get good reviews is Chip and Dale breakfast at Storyteller's.

Other Meals
We don't really have any must do's for non-character meals. Blue Bayou is nice as a splurge since it is pricy. And you can't beat the atmosphere, eating inside the Pirates of the Caribbean ride. If you want the famous Monte Cristo, its only served at lunch. But you can also get it at Cafe Orleans.

We've got a few must do counter services places, French Market and Bengal Barbecue. Other good ones are Pizza Port and Rancho del a Zocalo (or something close to that LOL).

Dining at DL is a different animal than at WDW. There are not as many table service places. And it's not as competitive to get PS's (called Priority Seating at DL, not ADR) as WDW.

More info on our website
Roger created some blogs for the restaurants

And I put some reservation info there as well

What Monica said.

Our girls really enjoy Goofy's Kitchen but it is pricey but no worse than Chef Mickey. We have also enjoyed Ariels Grotto (all the princesses are there) and Lilo and Stitch breakfast at PP. Our favorite non-character dining is at Storytellers Cafe. Choice of menu or buffet. Not as extensive as Goofy's kitchen but good food. There are many good restaurants in DTD. ESPN zone, Rainforest Cafe, Brennan's, Tortilla Joe's, House of Blues and more.

Goofy's Kitchen over at the DL Hotel is a lot of fun. Usually the first question out the kids once they find out we're going to DL, is are we going to Goofy's Kitchen. :cool1: Not sure if we'll go this year though.

Thanks for the advice and the links to the planning boards. There's some good information on there. I think we'll probably try Goofy's Kitchen and the character breakfast at Storyteller's Cafe. Other than that, I think we'll just wing it. Those character meals add up quickly! Oldest DS turned 10 a couple weeks ago, and I'm having a hard time adjusting to the fact that he's now an adult (at least in Disney's eyes!) :scared1:

I noticed in the media coverage (last week??) that there is something to the effect that cruises starting in one US Port and ending in a different US Port would require passports...so maybe that explains it. I'm not sure. I don't know the details and had asked about others thoughts on this, hoping someone who knew more than I did could help...but didn't get an answer... I am not sure if this is something new (I had not heard of it before) or if it is in effect for the May cruise......

:wizard: pirate:

That starts in 2009

So what are y'all planning on doing that short time in acupulco?

Little or nothing really. Rumor has it that Disney has made arrangements to see the cliff divers in the morning :confused3 We'll most likely just poke around town a little and head back to the ship. Or maybe I'll stay on and do wash.

I got my cruise kit today from DCL. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Can I pack and go now please.:worship:

Anytime....

One note from it:

Please note. Under currently proposed U.S. Government regulations, all U.S. citizens, including children, will be required to have valid U.S. passports to sail on the Panama Canal cruises....

At least we did not waste our money on the passports!!!:yay: :yay:

Are you sure they're not required. It seemed like there was conflicting info. At the top right part of the page, it said that passports are required for both repo cruises, then it said at the bottom of that same page that US Citizens had a choice of documentation. I read it quickly and don't have it in front of me, so I may be all washed up.

We do need passports. Period. Columbia and possibly Panama Canal trigger the requirement.

You want another one..... Permenantly......

I'm not kidding either....

Right now her cell phone is still shut off... and she's been screaming at us all night for the past three nights....

My DH's wallet and my phone disappeared this morning. At least my phone materialized at the HS though but i needed to pick it up so was late for work..

And on top of this she's refusing to take her meds...(ADD/ODD) :headache:

Anyone here a social worker or know how foster homes work....?

Who am i kidding? No one would take her..they'd beg me to take her back...

My only solution at this point is to change the locks on our doors and she'll just have to wait till we get home from work to be escorted inside...

Sorry you're having such a hard time. I have to admit that these ST stories are starting to scare me, and I will have four of them someday (although not at the same time, thank goodness!) :scared1:

Not a rumor they will definitely be holding a morning excursion as they have made special arrangements with the divers
