I have looked on the DCL website also and they just don't show it at all. I asked my TA about it and she said it doesn't and the receipt from them is the only "proof" available.

Does anyone know how this affects our 2008 taxes? I remember there being some issue the last time they did something like this.

I have not looked too closely at this - however I assume anything you GET in that ESP deal will be ... taxed in 2008! So don't spend it ALL unless ya plan on setting a little aside next year. Which is the eternal trap most folks face.

It was last year our CPA noted something where we could obtain a refund on past taxes if we filed new returns. SO we filed and got a refund from the State and Feds... now come this year we get a 1099 misc income report from the Feds and State... so they giveth and now they taketh... is that how its' spelled?

At any rate... gotta go for a spell now... TTFN!

Ok so its not as bad as I thought it would be. Thank god for direct deposit. My soon to be 90yr old grandmother had to file taxes this year for the first time in many many years to receive this money. Explaining why to her was challenging for my mom. I simplified it for my grandmother... just sign the form and don't worry about it. The money will be a nice surprise for her. I love my grandmother very much but sometimes her short term memory is tough to deal with. Otherwise she's in great shape.

My grandmother will be 100 in August. Each year my DH does her taxes for her. This year the amount she will have to pay went up by about $50. From around $180 to $230! (Somehow I suspect it costs the IRS this much just to process her return!). She is notoriously "thrifty" so my father plans to point out to her that she is getting back a lot more than she is paying (even with the extra $50 ) so she will hopefully not be too upset.

So I'll be lurking between bites here - I got me a nice bowl of Chinese curry chicken over rice with some left over chicken I made last nite. My older daughter has a Daddy - Daughter day today free... so I was going to run her around to the beach - and maybe we'd go out for a visit to a museum - or the California Expo center at exposition park (FREE) and we'd try that only if we didn't score some matinee WICKED DEAL tickets for WICKED... now I have to check if we can make todays' matinee lottery. TOmorrow we're off for Yosemite. It will have 50 degree highs (burrrr) and rediculous lows. We're hoping for spring melt off to feed the waterfalls - and Sunday has the end of season festival at Yosemites' ski resort - Badger Pass. Also, I've signed up for a photographers' walking tour given through the Ansel Adams gallery in the park. We got a cheap rate at the Yosemite View lodge of $125 for a river view room with fireplace and jacuzzi tub. Plus all the pools are heated (one indoor) - so it should be a decent weekend if nothing complicates it further.

Ok... no Wicked matinee... only an 8pm show and it's sold out, but they still run the Wicked deal lottery at 6PM... I don't know if we'll try forthat or not. Gotta think about it a little since we're traveling tomorrow. About now my spouse would be saying I'm crazy for even consideiring it.
