Yeaaaaaaa that's the ticket!

Hello All,

Please do not ask too much about my absence, lets just say thank you to Webmaster Regina, who is a loverly lady, and has sorted the thing out.

Sometimes a couple of small things, escalate due to circumstances being in the wrong place at the wrong time, and things that are not 'clear' on an ongoing thread, might be misunderstood by the people doing a fine job moderating us all.

Thank you for the high number of e.mails or PM's many from here, and hopefully you will all accept me back.

Whats happened this week, well we had two very large storms here very windy, I think the first was the storm from Florida with the tornadoes, that went through East USA with Snow storms over to us with more energy over the Atlantic.

I lost further weight down to 15.4 now thats 13% of me gone since December 31st.

Alice DD has passed a high number of 'top of the class' exams, with certificates for three, being the best, and had to have surgery on her teeth at the same time (nasty).

Stephen DS, has been in trouble at school, and needs a lot of love at this time, the thing is if your teachers think you are a naughty boy, you then get treated as one, and it circles down wards.

I had some 'results' on my ongoing tests with now two Diagnosis of my condition, so at least now, they know whats wrong with me they can try to solve it,

The funny thing is when the Consultant says can I bring in x number of medical students, and when I agree, he says to his 5/6 trainee doctors, now see this guy, he has two very rare conditionals that are text book / essay type stuff and you most likely will never ever see this again in your career!

Not sure if thats good or bad?

Anyway, nice to be back.

Welcome back Andrew! Sounds like you've got a lot going on right now. Hope all is resolved successfully!

No, it hasn't come yet :headache:

We did receive her birth certificate yesterday, and called the passport office again, and they said they still had no record of the passport being returned to them. At least with her original BC, we can apply for a new one if we have to.

So glad your kids can go on the TOAL now!!!

Glad you got the BC back anyway.

I went on a job interview yesterday and as I sat there filling out the application, I paused at the question regarding if I'd be able to provide proof of citizenship and the right to work in the US upon hire. Of course I answered yes ... but what I really wanted to say was, "That depends on when you want me to start." See, we finally applied for our passports this past weekend and were told we'd have them in 3 - 4 weeks :confused3

The timing might be a little tight between the interview cycle, an offer of a position/accepting a position, giving a 2 week notice and the processing time of said Passport. Because we all know that I sent my only certified copy of my BC w/the passport application AND I cannot remember when the last time I saw my social security card might have been

HOWEVER ... if this new opportunity works out, I'd happily make a trek to the Social Security Office, or pay the fee for a new BC :rotfl: Just found it amusing that the passport sagas continue for so many of us in so many different ways.

Best of luck in getting the job you want!

Something to give us all a laugh, a bit at my expense.

As you know I have been trying to loose a lot of weight, and I have been cutting back on my food and that includes McDonalds, and also going out for long walks and jogs.

Now the change in diet has had a recent adverse effect on my constitution, and with the lack of Mc’d’S fries, I haven’t had anything to grease me up inside and had become a little constipated.

So I went to our local Pharmacy, for some laxatives, and asked the young girl on the till for some,

She didn’t know what they were, she shouted out to the next lady, ‘This man wants some laxatives, do you know what they are’, in front of all the people in the shop. She said to me, sorry I am only 17 just started this week. Anyway, the next lady didn’t know as well, so shouted out to another, and let’s say I was getting a bit embarrassed but everyone knowing.

I said, maybe ask the pharmacist and she did come to help.

Anyway, I think everyone in my town knows now, -and now the Dis,

Best not go there for anything else 'men' are embarrassed about buying.

Yes thank you for sharing that embarrassing moment with hundreds of your closest internet friends! :lmao:

We spent the evening at DD's school at a fundraiser- Auction and such. Fortunately or unfortunately- depending on how you look at it- I won everything I bid on.
We ended up with Pizza lunch w/ Miranda's teacher and a friend, Miranda's name on the school marqee during her b-day month of Sept, notecards made by her 2nd grade class. Megan got a middle school pack w/ 2 school t-shirts and a gym bag, a big sundae kit w/bowls, ice cream fixins, coupon for ice cream cake, scooper and a really cool ice cream lazy susan etc., and the big thing of the night which was Megan having lunch with the mayor of our city! She got a really cool city gift pack and the mayor will come to her school and have lunch w/ her. That should make her feel very special. (Hope it works, she needs the ego boost).

Congrats! Having lunch with the mayor is very special indeed! :cool1:

I hate when the news teases you with their news stories and it turns out to be a 30 second blurb.
They mentioned Night Kingdom and when I googled it , yes they are throwing around the $200-$250 ticket. Last month when I was driving into Sarasota, I was catching up with my dis podcasts and they were talking about the 5th park . They said they heard it would be a villains type park. Who knows.:confused3

Here is the latest from Jim Hill who orginally broke the news on Night Kingdom. He goes into alot more detail than before.

Andrew I am shocked that you did not post this here first. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: After all I am a pharmacist and Mike "crusinmike" is finishing his pharmacy education. And after all Mike and I could have given you some great free advice and Crash would have been able to supplement our comments with photos. :scared1: Besides we are all family here.

PS WELCOME BACK!!!!

... [ed]...

Crash, hope your family finally recovers from this flu. I tend to agree with Alicia about not pumping in antibiotics when not necessary. I know it's hard to watch them suffer so.

Well Arlene...

... Thank You kindly for the supportive thoughts... however, the time has come for my spouse to call in sick tomorrow - and that's NOT because shes' gonna play hookie to skate to San Diego - mind you - it's because she IS still sick. In fact - she has a 10AM appointment with a doc to most likely get medication(s)... and Kalea is scheduled to see her doc tomorrow at 9:30 for the same reason. Now - Kalea is exhibiting tremendous attitude and has been very energetic in spire of her fever - and she's an angle about taking her medication.

Oh well... you and Alicia were CORRECT to wait until now to see a doc to determine if meds are necessary. Time had to be spent to let a suspected illness run its' course... and if Viral then it would have faded yesterday - and with cerainty we'll see if its' around tomorrow, eh?

So, Julianna is free of her fever as of this morning - however she is still coughing. Her sniffles seem to have mostly dried up today though... and I am generally 80% of normal - I feel a bit fatigued - but otherwiseam NOT ill.

Oh well... at least there is good expectation Julianna and I will be able to hang with my BIL and his kids tomorrow and for the weekend. Alicia has already said she cannot last a day at Legoland - so for now she is not planning on going - but will rest at the hotel. Fortunately, we have a nice hotel in La Jolla for her - and it should serve well for saturday.

And for something a little different - check out this crazy motorcycle image I found for BIP:

Wooden%20Harley.jpg

This unusual little motorcycle is obviously made of wood, but with a real engine and running gear. A few 2x4's, 4x4's and a bit of 2"x12" make up the frame, forks and seat. Look closely the the front end! It is a working suspension mechanism composed of two coil springs, some steel rod and two 2x4's functioning as a counter-levered shock absorber! It's the first wooden springer front end I have ever seen, for sure.

The wide West Coast style handlebars were hewn of out of a small timber with just the right amount of curvature. Wood screws, lag bolts with nuts and flat washers and are the fasteners used. The galvanized brackets and steel strapping used to complete the chassis are construction items commonly found in residential and commercial building. That's an old scooter rim on the front, and the rear tire and wheel was salvaged from a small automobile. Don't know what engine was used but it looks like a small 2-stroke.

So for a thread of unusual motorcycles - try this link - and take a close look at one of my favorites ... posting #13

Are you waitlisted for early dining ? If you are I'm pretty sure that by linking they will move you to the early dining:confused3

I am already on early dining. I think there are a couple of folks who are thinking they want early but currently have late. Just wondering if linking them to us will have any effect.

Thanks for the birthday greetings for Robert, I'll be sure to pass them along when he gets home from work shortly.

Happy Birthday Robert!

My best "constitution" inducing product ;) is Light Lays. They have Olean in them and after a few of those - no more problems ;) .
Or if all else fails- use Alli or get a script for Meridia. I heard if you take Meridia and eat Mexican food - just have your food delivered to the restroom.
I can't believe I am even posting this. :rotfl:

I had no idea Walt Disney discovered the Osmonds.
They said the 4 older boys went to try out for Lawrence Welk show (my childhood favorite) and could not get in so their Dad took them to Disneyland. They were on Main Street and Dapper Dans was doing a quartet and they said "You are 4 guys, are you a quartet?" The Osmonds said "sure" and sang for them. Someone was so impressed they went and got Walt Disney himself out of his office to hear them and just like that " The Osmonds!

Lori are you still coming to Schaumburg??? :goodvibes What happened with the job interview??:confused3

Hi Cheryl, I'm still coming to Schaumburg. I never heard anything from the company so I'm assuming that I didn't get it. Oh well, just have to wait for the right one to come along.

IS IT REALLY? According to my taks list, I am still stuck on Wednesday.

That's why drink beer, eat pizza is always on my task list for the end of the week. I motivates me to get everything else done.

Good morning all. I don't know where my time has disappeared to.:confused3
Just wanted to drop in and say hello.

Stace, I sure hope you get to feeling better. Sorry you will be missing the mini meet.:sad2:
