Tom, I like to think that my dad and other family members that have gone, look down on us and know what we are doing. It also helps me to think that they are in heaven loving and taking care of my sweet baby up there. I don't know if you listen to country music, but there is a song about hole in the floor of heaven (Steve Wariner)--that really hits home.

Thank You Paula for your kind thoughts. I too share your beliefs that my Mom is looking down on us and smiling with how we've done. Alas, the question posed cited "what IF we could go back to a point in the past?"... and that drew my thoughts to this whimsical possibility. The other date I would love to go back to is the evening of our first kiss - my spouse and I. THAT was kind of fun... and memorable. I was sitting on a sofa watching a movie with my then girlfriend of 6 <SIX> weeks ... and I asked her .. " now why haven't YOU asked me for a kiss yet? I've never had to ask a girl for a kiss before?"... and Alicia replied ... "<she> does NOT ask boys for kisses".... where upon I sort of rolled my eyes and ... we ended up NOT meeting our friends that evening. <wink> And Alicia was the only girl (friend) whom I asked for a 1st kiss. And I waited 6 weeks until that 1st kiss.

I just heard Crash will pay you!!!!:thumbsup2 :rolleyes1

Cheryl...

.. you heard from WHOM that "I" would "pay" Andrew ... for anything? Remember... I am currently "judgement proof" and thus NOT subject to any undue influence in widgeting me from any of my pseudo funds.

What ... ???

Me Burn for ... WHAT?!?!?!

...so will someone PLEASE tell me who I've posted in the animation above (in the rust colored suit?)???

I can't tell from the page of origin - nor does the URL address yield any clues?

OK... time fer me ta go while the "gettin'" is good...

today was an exceedingly pleasant day...

We spent it with old friends of mine - whom I've known for well in excess of 3 decades...

.. our kids played all day and simply ran amok with cheers and chuckles while we sat about and "talked story"...

and the rain is here - but not all so bad during the drive... but at 4Am it's kind of pouring steady....

... so now that I'm getting sleepy again... it's time for me to slip away into blissfully pure and innocent rest...

ps what happened? can't have long threads anymore? so do the old ones get deleted or archived or what? I mean how does having several smaller threads help the board in anyway? I don't get it. LOL

Basically the IT folks have found out that long threads were slowing the whole disboards down, and after limiting threads the boards did speed up, ( well not today slow) but the old ones we are promised would be archived and retrievable but this ones part 1, I do not think has come back.

IT said when you go to a long thread, the server looks through all posts from 1 to the current page so if thats page 70,000 it looks through 70,000 posts, now, if thats true and you have an active thread, and loads of people accessing it all at the same time, think pirate posts, and the system jams up.

Good morning have a very good Sunday.

News from the UK.

Today Sir Richard Branson will fly one of his Virgin Atlantic planes on bio fuel to show it can be done, and try to find out the answers to help cut omissions form planes.

The bio fuel make up is a secret, some people think it might be made up of vegetable, but its also made up of sandwiches and a bit of chicken, in fact, they are recycling all of the left overs from in flight catering, and making them the fuel!

It works well, but the outcome wasn't too good, as the plane had some 'gas' omissions during the flight. Same as us then?

Morning Andrew !

I was just reading the same story. Here's a link for anyone that's interested in the story.

Virgin Atlantic Bio-Fuel

Me and Alex met Sir Richard once outside the Royal Albert Hall and we talked for a good few minutes. He was very interested in listening to Alex about his education and his future hopes. His Aunty lives not far from us and he buys her a new car every year. :) He really is a nice bloke.

WRONG!

The DIS police have been pursuing (in vain) the culprets responsible for clogging up the bandwidth here abouts... and tracked it down to this thread ... and a certain Tortola Aug 2009 meet thread ... in addition to several UK DIS threads... and since they could not narrow it any further without incriminating the INNOCENT... <ahem> .... they decided in desperation to just shorten all of the threads to a so-and-so cap ... and avoid further persecution of the innocent in pursuit of ANDREW... <ahem>.... excuse me... as I wuz saying... in pursuit of the unknown culpret(s). And last I "heard" ... they thought it was the primary fault of a certain scoundrel with 15,000 plus postings (not the measly 8,000 tally I have) .... whose screen identity began with an "A" (not a "C")... from somewhere in the UK (not Socal)... but NOT from Wales (maybe Essex - they think) .... <wink> .....

Here was an image they intercepted with ME along side a "doctored" image of the "suspect"... get it... it's "Doctored" by WHO... we don't know.... who managed to conceal/manipulate the image of the scoudrel opposite me below. Hmmm.... so this was Doctored by ... WHO?

And now ... I must INNOCENTLY slip away ... it's pretty rediculously LATE here in SoCal...

He is a very nice man! Was on our breakfast shows this morning with a few nice Virgin planes on show in the background.

Well I have been able to find the original quote from IT, and restore it as above, makes interesting reading.

Just got back from an awards ceremony hosted by the local Masonic lodge. DD won an essay about George Washington & apparently old George was a Mason and is now quite revered by the modern day Masons. All the winners and their parents were invited to a sit-down dinner and each student had a chance to read their essays to the audience. There were a total of 4 winners out of 74 entries from the 8th grade class. DD won a $50 savings bond, $25 gift card to Staples, $10 certificate to a local sub shop, free tickets to a magic show, an invitation for the family to attend a Masonic pancake breakfast and she even won a door prize of a Foose ball table! :cool1:

That is wonderful!!!! Congrats to her for this accomplishment!:cheer2:

HI Everyone...
remember me? LOL

Okay I'm kinda in panic mode here.
Have I missed anything important yet? like when can we start booking stuff? (as castaway club members/etc.) Are buses already filled up? what about us! LOL ahhhhhh
I have been getting stuff for the kids exchange thing- and now I don't even know if we're on it or not! guess I can give this stuff to my own kids if I have to... LOL

I'm also panicking because I'm not sure how we're going to manage this cruise now. :( I mean things were bad enough with new house and DH not getting overtime almost the ENTIRE year last year (which cuts our income in half btw and that's never happened in all the years he's worked there! figures huh?) -but then they also changed the vacation rules for him. He used to be able to take the vacation pay whenever he wanted- then take off for his vacation and just not get paid during that time- which works perfectly for paying way ahead for vacations right? well now they will only do either/or. If he takes the vacation pay now to pay for the vacation- he can't have the time off later to actually GO on the vacation- he's just being "paid off" for the vacation.
But if he waits and gets the vacation pay when he actually takes the vacation- that means we don't have the vacation pay to PAY for the vacation months in advance! ahhhhhh
I'm not sure what we're going to do.. and he's proposing we just go without him and I really don't want to do that. It's as much his vacation as ours plus he's the one working to pay for it! KWIM? LOL wouldn't seem right to run off for a few weeks on a cruise while he's home still working. that wouldn't be cool IMO

so I'm not sure what we're going to do but we've been waiting on this cruise for so long I am LOATHE to just bowing out of the cruise. we haven't vacationed anywhere this entire time-and if we don't go on this cruise we waited all that time for what? nothing! We gotta figure out something, even if we have to put some on a credit card which I said I'd never do... but never say never, right? LOL

How is everyone? didya miss me? LOL

Hi, BBB! Of course we missed you! Just make it happen . . . you have to be on this cruise!

Good morning have a very good Sunday.

Have a relaxing day.

Good morning, Andrew -- nice relaxing shot of your kids on CC -- was Stephen asleep?

I'm NOT responsible for these HACKED images... As JUSTMEMEGAN influenced the creation of these pooly rendered gestures in pursuit of a few chuckles....

< wink >[/CENTER]

Nice! Now if only we had Stace/Xena with her husband/Chippendale body, we'd be set . . .:thumbsup2

I was just going to say, Dont you sleep????????????????????????

:drive: :artist: :firefight ::cop: :faint: :joker:  ::yes:: :rolleyes2
Have you seen some of these new ones?

We'd love to have you guys there! We figure the more the merrier. And obviously just show up in your attire for the day. We'll accept beach wear, pirate garb...heck, i guess we'd even let the guys in thongs, pumps, and tiaras show up. Imagine those wedding pictures!:scared1:
Then you would need Crash to photoshop everyone. Problem is what would he put everyone in?????

I don't dare complain or I'll end up with a pancake on my head. :sad2:

:rotfl2:

:scared1:

Be very cautious with this one. I had a horrible experience with then and will never stay there and always caution other people not to.

A few years ago, I had a reservation with them but had to cancel. The reservation and the cancellation were both done online. The cancellation was about 10 days prior to arrival, well within their 48 hr policy. I was shocked to see a charge for 2 nights on my next credit card statement. Upon calling Park Vue I was told that I was a no show and therefore they charged me for 1 night per their policy. They could never explain why I was charged the 2nd night. When I explained that I had cancelled and even had the cancellation number, they said I had to take it up with the reservation agency. When I called the resevation agency, they said that since Park Vue charged me, I had to take it up with them. After multiple calls to the management at Park Vue and the management at the agency, the agency finally agreed to issue me a check for the amount charged by Park Vue and pursue repayment themselves.

Every time I spoke with anyone at Park Vue, I was treated as if I was a criminal trying to rip them off. Horrible, non existent customer service. I've even read other reports of folks cancelling and still being charged. For your sake, I sure hope things have improved.

Monica, next time call the credit card issuer and dispute the charge. Let them do the work for you.

Hi BIP!!!! Glad to see you are back. DH and I were talking about you yesterday as one of the MIA we haven't seen in a while. Hope your ears weren't burning. We are counting on you as I know how your family is looking forward to this.

The Xena impression requires 2 soup ladles. Just a heads up! It will probably take at least 2 margaritas, to get her to do it. She's a lightweight.

Oh! We like you! Please stop by anytime.

How cool for your DD! Congrats to her!

Hi Shelley! Good to hear from you. I hope you figure out a way to make the cruise work for you and your family. We're all looking forward to meeting you. Other than your DH's vacation issue (which stinks) , how have you been?
