DW=Disney World???? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Laurie, sorry to hear that about Reebok:hug:

Thanks.

The hardest part of owning a pet:confused3

What's the oldest anyone's cat has lived:confused3
Reebok's 16 years is a record for us I think, but I've heard for cats living till their 20's.

Laurie, I had Snuggles put to sleep at 22 and Patches at 16. It's hard to do.

I don't have a picture of Snuggles on my computer, but he looked exactly like this maine coon.

Laura, keep me posted on your situation -- we had PMed about it earlier -- let me know if you want to talk.

I suspect you and I find the prospect of Andrew sleeping through all that funnier than most people do, but I'm definitely with you on this one . . .

I cracked up that this one for a long time - my girls were just looking at me like I was  :rotfl2:

This is true......I am lucky to be a part of a great circle of moms (well...families, actually...but the moms organize everything :) )....and when someone has a baby or a surgery, etc....we jump in to set up a calendar of meals to be taken to the family. We just go ahead and have everyone pick dates, and tell the family "These are the dates we have dinners covered for you." And of course, Julie's suggestions of doing laundry and caring for children are great as well!

Wow - that is wonderful D - I wish I lived in your neighborhood. Fortunately, my mom is still around and only 2 miles from me so if I need help - I can always go to her.

It's the Federal Government. It isn't that easy. From Publication 552:

How Long To Keep Records

You must keep your records as long as they may be needed for the administration of any provision of the Internal Revenue Code. Generally, this means you must keep records that support items shown on your return until the period of limitations for that return runs out.

The period of limitations is the period of time in which you can amend your return to claim a credit or refund or the IRS can assess additional tax. Table 3 contains the periods of limitations that apply to income tax returns. Unless otherwise stated, the years refer to the period beginning after the return was filed. Returns filed before the due date are treated as being filed on the due date.

Table 3. Period of Limitations
IF you...THEN the period is...

1: Owe additional tax and (2), (3), and (4) do not apply to you -- 3 years

2: Do not report income that you should and it is more than 25% of the gross income shown on your return -- 6 years

3: File a fraudulent return -- No limit

4: Do not file a return -- No limit

5: File a claim for credit or refund after you filed your return -- Later of 3 years or 2 years after tax was paid.

6: File a claim for a loss from worthless securities -- 7 years

Hello All, :wave2:
Not sure what to say except it's been way too long and I missed you all. I just wanted wanted to post a ' Hello "

OK I agree with Tom on this one English Please?

Although, let me tell you - my brother and I always thought it was 7 yrs until last year when my brother got audited and charged from 10 yrs before. Apparantely they were back auditing and he ended up having to pay it. Sure was a shock to him - :scared1: So from out here in CA - I know its been as long as 10 years. I have now told DH that we are to keep records 10 yrs. Better safe than sorry. my brother did not have any paperwork so he had a hard time contesting it. Which he lost anyway.

yikes, there's still ice everywhere.
2 hour delay, boo

No delay for us, which was just dumb, because the sidewalks were a sheet of ice. I just found out that DS10 fell twice and his friend fell 3 times. And I drop them off 1/4 block from school!

o.k you asked.............:rotfl2: NYC, Philly, Detroit:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

GO PHILLY!!!! WOO HOOO!

;)

While that was an eggs-cellent response, frankly I was eggs-pecting it.

Seriously though, you people crack me up.

Anyway, time for me to make my eggs-it before people start shouting eggs-pletives or crying fowl over my yolks. Y'all can go back to posting about your eggs-cursions and scrambling for the next pirate: .

(In case anyone was wondering, I poached some of these puns. My brain is too fried to come up with anything funny on my own.)

OK J.R. There's no egg-scuse for that many egg puns!

I passed my Top 200 Drugs test today!!!

It was actually on over 250 drugs, and we had to know what they were used for, starting, typical, and maximum doses, side effects, and interactions. It was pretty stressful, because we need to pass it to be allowed to go on our clinical rotations. So that's one more hurdle over, and that much closer to finishing!

Hi Kristina: How has the weather been in your parts lately?

Pretty icey...pretty cold...

What's the oldest anyone's cat has lived:confused3 Reebok's 16 years is a record for us I think, but I've heard for cats living till their 20's.

My FIL's cat is still alive at roughly 17 best as we can guess. I remember then getting it as a kitten off a farm when dh and i were first dating back in late 1991. It was pretty ferral then and my now deceased mil was the only person who could get near it without being clawed to death. Even after they declawed it, he still bites (well i think it may be a he, who knows).

It lives in FIL's basement now mostly (it's kinda incontinent) and is still mean as ever.

But what about the other 3500? :confused3 :rotfl2:

Congrats :cool1: Mike I remember that test and it is nerve racking. At least now you can start sounding like a pharmacist.

greetings..:cool1: ..

is anyone off work for President weekend? I am taking DS#1 college shopping..

well off to ketchup

My DH doesn't like the high pitch barking that sometimes comes with the small dogs. But if we could get one to use the litter box with the cats I might be able to persuade him:idea:

Well, for non-barking dogs I would tell you to get a husky but they require A LOT of exercise and sometimes the howling gets a bit loud. But once I spayed her - she was ok with it. I've been lucky in that our 2 dogs don't bark but the down side - they are NOT watch dogs. But they do look scary.

Also, if you don't have a good vacuum (boy that looks funny????) don't get one - one of mine is 41 lbs - and that with gaining weight from being spayed and the other one is 58 lbs. Both inside dogs more than outside but actually very good dogs. They got out once - due to DH not locking the back gate but they didn't make it far before someone in the neighborhood recognized them as neighborhood dogs. Got them back only about 45 mintues after they left. Good thing was that I have them microchipped. So whatever dog you get - make sure you have them micro-chipped.

Timing to be right!:lmao: Sorry, Laurie, but it's just like children -- if you wait for everything to be right before you have them, you never will . . .

Of course I am a bad person to consult with -- we had no intention of getting Linus, we were in a pet store getting food for Belle and a local shelter had puppies on display. My oldest became enamored of this little ball of black fur and I made the "mistake" of letting her take him out to hold . . . he came home with us that day and he's the best impulsive decision I ever made . . .the funny thing is that she picked him out but he picked me -- so he is definitely my dog, and Belle is the girls' dog.

NEVER let the kids play with the animals. I took DS out looking because I was thinking of letting him have a dog. Once he played with Freddy it was all over. We've had him for 4 months now.

Just wanted to say, this whole issue is somewhat overblown - I think it is a sales tactic to sell more expensive TV's! The over-the-air broadcasts will no longer be available in analog, but "digital" does not have to be HDTV. There was a good post on this over in the photography forum a few days ago. The relevant info is a couple paragraphs down... http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=23108265&postcount=2

For those with cable and satalite, it is a total non issue. For those with an antenna, it may effect them, but there will be cheap converters available.

Pamela

And you can apply for a coupon to offset the cost of the box. I have cable but my parents refuse to get it. My dad is too cheap to pay for TV when he can get it for free. So I signed them up for the coupon as soon as the website opened up.

You could use it for the Zip Line......:confused3

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

 I don't think so.

If you want a sane dog - do not get as husky!

Disney Visa has a special rate for cardholders on the Adventures by Disney Backstage Magic tour at DL if anyone is interested

I got that too.....tempting, except that any time I would be able to go is of course Peak season.

This was from one of my favorites signs that used to hang in the office when I used to work for one of the Bell companies:

"There are two giant entities at work in our country, and they both have an amazing influence on our daily lives.

One has given us radar, sonar, stereo, teletype, the transistor, hearing aids, artificial larynxes, talking movies, and the telephone.

The other has given us the Civil War, the Spanish American War, the First World War, the Second World War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, double-digit inflation, double digit unemployment, the Great Depression, the gasoline crisis, and the Watergate fiasco.

Guess which one is trying to tell the other how to run the phone business?"

Hey, I need to post that in my office.
