Hmm....seems as if I missed the morning rush and now I'm here talking to myself.

No worries.

I'm supposed to be working. I just can't get into it. Ever since they switched me to a new positon last April, I've felt like I'm just floundering. I still haven't gotten the hang of it. Surprisingly on my annual review I was rated as meeting expectations. I fully expected to be working under par.

I suppose I should be thankful to have a job. If this position hadn't been found for me, I would have been laid off. But I hate it and there's no other open position that appeals to me.

Guess I'll just keep plugging along until something else comes up. My boss did mention to me yesterday that my old group has hinted at wanting me back and this is something we can look at possibly mid year. So there is hope.



Sorry, just a small moment of feeling sorry for myself.


Now back to our regularly scheduled chit chat.

Well, okay....it will have been a year by the time I go. It FEELS like 5 years!
And my excuse for not noticing the missing Fast Pass is that I was having too much fun with the Captain!
Yeah, uh huh...that's my story and I'm sticking to it......

It's never had fastpasses when we've been there either. We went not long after it had be refurbished and were in a line near the river boat dock. Man that line moved quickly. I forget the exact numbers but it is or is one of the highest capacity turnover per hour rides that Disney has. Something like 2000people per hour.

Pirates used to have Fast Passes, but you could get one for that ride while still holding one for another ride. But yes, the line for that one does move quickly. Probably because they have so many boats and they each hold a lot of people. I love that ride, I think it's still one of my all time favorites.

While I love,love,love DD/SIL/DGS - I am in L.A. to be DGS Matt's Nanny. So its fun & lots of work - I do extra home schooling for Matt to augment his Special Ed classwork. And - the car is packed - so I'm on the road tomorrow - I'll check in when I get there. Hopefully it will be a non-event 7 hour drive!! Maybe I should listen to my Spanish CD to get ready for our cruise!!

Its fun but pretty rough so if you have a bad back etc, it might be best to skip it. Also I don't think its worth waiting for ages for. When we were there in 2005 it didn't have a fastpass either.

This raises a question for me regarding currency - will the US $ be accepted everywhere we dock or are we going to need to g et any local currencies?

I'm guessing everywhere will probably take US$ - they are easy for the locals to swap - just make sure its notes as they may not be able to change coins.

Happy to be corrected if I wrong, but I've found pretty much anywhere US$ are accepted if you don't have local currency.

Hi Everyone! Finally made it onto the board today - Wednesdays are just nuts! It tends to be busy at work and then I have to leave early to take DS8 to Fiddle lesson. THEN, to avoid having another evening booked, we go straight to a Karate lesson (they want him to do 2 lessons per week and this is pretty much the only way to do that and not have the poor kid out 4 nights per week ) We get home a little after 7pm so it is a very, very long day.

On the plus side, Thursday and Friday evenings are totally free this week so I actually get to stay home and relax!

DH just told me that he has to go out of town on a business trip on the 14th. When I said, "your kidding, they're sending you out for the 14th?" He was totally clueless and took several minutes to figure out what was 'special' about the 14th! I just better get flowers out of this one!

My DH had to go on a business trip a few years ago and they left on the morning of the 14th of Feb. I was so angry because the only reason he had to fly out on the 14th is because it was cheaper. His boss got to wait unitl the 15th of course. I did get some nice roses out of the deal and we celevbrated a day early

The 14th is just a date on the calendar on which everything costs 4 times as much as it should. Since your DH (as all the fine swabbies on this board do) shows you how special you are and how much he loves you throughout the year, his absense on this day should only be in person, not spirit, and with or without flowers, you will feel special.

Well, I got to sleep in 3 hours longer today than this day last year! As I recall, I was up at 0330 (my time) trying to get on this crazy adventure.
I also remember "working from home" that day to contribute to the several hundred pages we posted! Too bad we can't go back and skim through it - that was a fun day.

For anyone who is thinking about or who has already booked transfers thru DCL from DLR to the Port, the schedule is as follows: The bus will leave first from the Disneyland Hotel at 12:00 pm, Paradise Pier at 12:10 and Grand Californian at 12:20

That reminds me, I ordered a book called "Just Enough Spanish" earlier this week. Maybe I'll actually learn a little before TOAL.

Funny, I read Pamela's post and I thought - Wow, the 14th must be their anniversary. V-Day is so not a thing for us. I think it is silly.
