There are also several other zipline companies in Puerto Vallarta if Los Veranos ends up selling out for all the times that could work for those on this cruise. Here are some choices for ziplining in PV:

Thanks for the link, Julie.
At first my two boys told me they did not want to do this because it was too scary. About 2-3 weeks ago I showed them the video & asked again if they were sure they didn't want to go. After seeing the video they wanted to go. I'm still not sure they won't back out when we get there.

Yes, Pick up at the office is correct. We will all need to take a cab from the port to their office. I think they said it was about $4.00 per person. I think we can get together and go as a group when we meet up at their office before getting in their bus to get to the zipline.

Hope you get in! It will be a fun group.

Coral

I think if we get enough people, for an additional fee ($15 pp ??) they would pick us up at port and would also change discount to 25% instead of 15% on line discount.

My boys will be there too, I think they will all end up going if the others are doing it...

Tom, Are you booked on this?

d'oh, must have been typing at the same time.

I definately think they will be more inclined to try it if they know the other kids are willing.

I think sk8/M is looking at it to, her kids are in the same age group, and Rogers daugthers and....

I spent way too much time getting caught up. We need to have a warning on real information just like we do for math alerts. I think the Dis created a bigger monster since our old board disappeared!!!:lmao: :lmao:

I've been thinking about this. So many were intimidated by the pace of our thread when it started a year ago. It slowed down significantly. But now with the new thread, it's been fast and furious again. I LOVE it myself. I never had a problem with the pass of the old thread. It was a lot of fun for me. But I know many who did not like it. Not sure how we solve that though. I do not want to tell anyone not to chat, cuz that would have to apply to myself as well. But maybe you're right, we could title our message if it is an actualy cruise planning message. :confused3

Otherwise maybe we could go back to the old fashion 100 or 1000 post summaries? Now that we have Crash as the thread starter, we will be able to add the summaries to the first post much easier.

DS10 is not the most adventurous. He just rode splash mountain & BTM for the first time last April. He was so proud of himself & wanted to do all three mountains, but space mountain was down when we returned with our passes.

One thought I passed onto the webmasters was to allow sub-threads. Have a heading with date of cruise then have one roll call, one chat and one planning info threads underneath. Would give the best of all worlds?

Tell him its like Star Wars..... all the times they swung across some chasm....

Beautiful:thumbsup2

How do you pack a tiara (especially one like that) without smooshing it in your luggage:confused3

I'm not a glove person, so I will pass on the gloves:rolleyes1
I may bring a tiara if I can figure out to pack it:rolleyes:

I love it too.

Haven't gotten gloves yet so I can't help Mike with that question. Actually, the more I think about it, I believe I have gloves in with my various Halloween costumes. We had a 1920's Speakeasy party for my dad's 80th birthday a few years ago. I was in full flapper mode and had long gloves. I'll have to hunt them down. The party was in November, so I probably picked up the gloves at a Halloween store.

As for packing the Tiara, some actually come in a box so you just have to keep that. Mine didn't have a box, so I just found an old gift box I had around the house. It was slightly too big, so I stuffed it with tissue and place the tiara in there. It does take extra room in the suitcase, but otherwise it will squish out of shape. I know space will be at a premium this time around so I'm not sure what I'm going to do.

My DH was saying that that is what his Star Wars Forums are like and wondered why they didn't do the same here.

What about having links to the sub-threads on the first page of the "main" thread :confused3

Thanks for the quick responses everybody!:thumbsup2

Linda's worried about the gloves being tight too, so maybe we'll try a bridal store.

Another thought would be to custom make them. Way back for my senior prom my mom made me some fingerless gloves. They were simply a piece of satin, tapered to fit my arm, with a point over the hand and a small piece of elastic that I slipped over my ring finger. I think the 'elbow' end had a small amount of elastic to help it stay up?

Hey Julie -
I've been checking out horsebacking at our ports in Mexico - I keep getting feedback from others that the horses are in terrible condition. I am having 2nd thoughts about booking. I've had horses all my life and it would be really disturbing to see abused animals - I know I couldn't ride one.
Thought I'd share as I know you've booked a private ride.

Where are you getting this information, Chris? The stable I booked with is one some friends of mine had used and thought the horses were in fine shape last year. Is it a general thing that we need to be careful because horses are often mistreated or is it that people say all horses are mistreated at these ports? I certainly have no interest in supporting the mistreatment of horses.

I might run out to the Mall and pick up a cheap one last minute if I find I have the space.

In the meantime, my DD Kelly will get to re-use hers from her First Communion:goodvibes

What kind of shoes are you planning to wear?

Sneakers -- there's no way I can pack riding boots! I grew up often riding horses and wearing sneakers, so I think we can handle it. I wouldn't do sandals, though.

Whoops -- misunderstood the question, you meant ziplining, but I would wear sneakers for that as well. Nothing that can fall off!
