I'm not sure where you live in Texas, but Ike is extremely large. The wind field for hurricane and tropical storm force winds is huge and Ike is expected to retain his intensity pretty far inland. Well what can I say!

Well what can I say. We just had a great time on this cruise. It truley was a "Trip of A Lifetime".

Just wanted to thank all of the fantastic people we finally had the chance to meet. You all really enchanced our vacation from start to finish. From the organized functions to every chance meeting in the hallways it truley made for a memorable time.

We'd like to thank all the task force leaders for giving up so much of their time to organize each event.

The picture site is great. Thanks!

After debarkation Disney whisked us away to the Hertz car rental. We rented a mini van and drove back to NYC stopping in North Carolina on the way. The first few days at home were crazy as most everyone can atest to. We made it home safe and sound. Had a week of withdrawal. Then confirmed our booking with Chuck for next August.
Thanks again to everyone.

It was a pleasure knowing you and Johanna and your lovely girls. I heard great things about you and your family from people who had previous meets with you before the cruise. People did tell the truth.

I actually would like to see a real rugby game now that you had peaked my interest!!!

Ditto! When you told me your username I didn't recognize it and was gonna make it a mission to find you. hehe I didn't know you were alone though... glad you had a great time even though you didn't find a roommate!

Well, first count of pictures was about 1600, but I think I got rid of maybe 100 after seeing them on my computer. I thought it was alot until I heard how many some other people took. Glad to see I wasn't the only one glued to my camera!

Whew! Okay, I may not be totally unpacked yet, but I just finished uploading all my pictures! Well, maybe only 99% of my pics - I left out a few that were horribly fuzzy (or incriminating).

I have to say now that I'm really sorry I didn't try harder to keep up with the thread and post more before the cruise. Or at least come to chat every once in awhile. This was the most endearing and entertaining group of people and there wasn't enough time in 15 days to meet you all. The small percentage of you that I did meet were wonderful and I hope to see you all again someday on our reunion cruise!



Monica - I can TOTALLY relate. I shouldn't even be thinking about a reunion cruise at this point because I'm supposed to be job hunting as well. Granted, I left my job willingly (jumping for joy, I might add) to take a little time off before the TOAL, but the bank account is dwindling fast and I don't want to come back from Neverland. I keep clapping for Tinkerbell to come, but it hasn't worked yet. And since I've finished procrastinating with the pictures I have no choice but to start the search. Yuck, growing up is not fun.

Oh wait, wasn't I adopted by 2 different families on this trip? Deb... Roger... Was that just for fun or do either of you have an extra bedroom?

Although something tells me even if I was to move to a new family I still wouldn't have a stateroom host and 24 hour room service. Rats. On to Monster.com next...

In all seriousness (if that's possible), I was apprehensive about going on such a long trip "by myself" (because I intended to find a roommate 18 months ago) but this group of Pirates truly made this a TOAL that I will never forget. Thanks for everything!!

I enjoyed chatting with you at the DCA EP meet, as well as running into you on the ship (at all the bars!! LOL...couldn't resist). I think its awesome you went on this trip alone with just a bunch of virtual friends and ended up making wonderful friends all over the country while making it truly a TOAL. I can't say I would have done that at your age.....I'm a big chicken traveling alone!

I loved your pic's on the photo thread......and laughed so hard at your comment for your PC pic's! I love your vantage point!

The girls and I did a scientific re-creation tonight. It has now been proven it is scientifically impossible to bend over, swing your head wildly, while on a platform that has nothing to hold on to while wearing high heel flip flops. We of course, were unable to re-create the 20 knots speed we were going at the time or the Zombie I had drunk previously.
The girls thought for sure they could avoid the "Tinkerbell Flight" better than me. Ha! They both fell off the stairs trying. (Yes, I caught them).

I guess I will be doing two threads now!!!

Just make sure you get in blood,..... from shutters.... a contract to do pictures in the Atrium.

Work shuts down from the 24th through the 1st. So I get 2 full weeks by taking 3 vacation days. Thinking about taking a train to Chicago the week after Christmas. Not sure yet about that.

Jet Blue gave everyone that was on my flight home a $50 voucher as an apology for the super long delay. But, I think I need to contact them as my checked luggage was soaked. While it was raining at JFK - I don't understand why my bag (and everything in it) got drenched!!

I'm still sick - its a real drag at this point!! I'm actually even considering going to the doctor!

I do miss y'all!! I'm ready for a reunion - 2010 - and we already have a thead!! Thanks Todd

Almost forgot to ask...

Even with all the souvenirs that I managed to accumulate in my long vacation, I realized when I got home that I forgot to get "fresh" maps from Disneyland & California Adventures. The only ones I have are the yucky wrinkled ones that I used obsessively while at the parks those few days (I hated that I didn't know those parks since I could walk blindfolded through WDW).

Since I know some of you practically live in Mickey's back yard (so much better than Hotlanta's back yard), would it possible for someone to pick up a few maps and send them to me whenever you get a chance? I'll PM my address to whoever my Fairy Godmother (or father) happens to be.

Ok..this matters to no one but me but... doing the doc dance!!

Boy, oh boy, I know what you are talking about!

When I got off the ship on September 6th, I had told everybody the day before that I was "ready" to come home . . . and I was. Three weeks on board was just great, but time to get back to reality.

Well, by the time I arrived back home, I was already missing Disney and DCL.

Lo and behold, as I was going through the box that contained all the mail that had piled up over three and a half weeks, there was a document package from DCL for the three day cruise that I am doing with two friends at the end of January.

I was stoked!

So, instead of missing DCL, I'm keeping myself ready for the next encounter.

And, the best part of all, no real worry for hurricanes in January! Now, an ice storm that keeps me from getting down there the day before the cruise, THAT would be a world-class bummer.

I really really liked DL but that was the only thing that bugged me- feeling totally lost! I wore out some maps there too. LOL
