We were lucky enough to be seated at a table next to our canine cruiser friend, so we had to get a picture with her.

Here she is taking a dip at Castaway Cay.

Joel.....the frame was SOOOO nice! Thank you once again for it. And thanks also for the lovely FE gifts you guys left from every port. You all were so generous and thoughtful. Kylie and Drew really got a kick out of the surprises.

I still can't believe we ended up with 5 of a kind. Drew thought you were giving us good cards on purpose! The poker run was a lot of fun, and several people mentioned to me how much they enjoyed it. Very clever!

I have so many photos to share with you....we will have to just burn them on a disc. There are tons with Kylie and the girls. Kylie told me she kept calling her friends at school "Christa" yesterday. She said it happened at least 3 times. She said she was just so used to saying her name the last couple of weeks! :goodvibes

 I don't think Christa and Kylie could have had more fun and they certainly kept the Shutter's photographers busy. Christa and Katie didn't start school until today...so they had a day to recover. I look forward to hearing how their day went. We'll have video and photos to share with you guys too....sounds like a good reason to get together.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Roger......that was so fun seeing you guys as we left the terminal. Our kids LOVED your girls! They have been telling their friends at home all about the new friends they met on the cruise.

Here are a few photos of our kids together.

Thanks Deanna! My girls had a lot of fun with your two as well. I just tallied up the photos and have 5300. :scared1: I am still trying to put them in the correct day folders. I have a bunch of them together I just have to find them. Madison and Austyn miss all of their new friends. It was truely a pleasure getting to know you and Rob.

Cherie has been watching over my shoulder telling me which ones I can post :rotfl2: . Seems I have several of you in compromising positions that I will email to you or save for the 12/5's first pirate run.

She's a good woman.

Thanks to those who returned entries for the FE Pirate "Poker" Run.

That was such a fun idea Joel!

M.....here is a cute shot of your Drew and my Drew playing together at Castaway Cay.

Cute! I think that was shortly before their quest to find Ali & AJ.

HAVE A BLAST EVERYONE!!!!!

Just marking where the computer sez I left off....

and otherwise I wanted to say ....

It was so much fun ... I am SOoooo tired .... I wish I had had time to meet so many more than I did... however I'm grateful to have had a moment or more to sit and chat in person with so many! If only we had another 5 days embarked... if only I didn't get sick with that darn cough so many had as I did!

I'm just about to dive into the morass of things that need immediate attention now that we're back home - so I really really gotta go now... but late tonite I might be back to sit and catch up a bit.

I shot 1800+ photos in 10 GB and one of my BILs shot 675 images in just under 2GB. Plus I have another 2GB of images and video clips shot with the new underwater/shock-proof Olympus.... Add to that the 37GB of HD video footage I shot and all I can say is WHEW! And I didn't even bring my cherished DSLR! Just as well maybe since Canon announced a drastically improved model that I am now coveting.... the new 15 megapixel APCS-C sized 50D!

3qtr-001.jpg

At any rate... I hope everyone has had safe and uneventful travels home. See ya all again REAL soon!

With warmest regards to ALL!

Hi everyone!

Just finished getting all the photos onto my work PC (we put them on the laptop during the trip and I still need to copy them to the home PC, but this way I have "off site" backups) and it looks like we topped out around 1770 photos. I know that is a drop in the bucket compared to some, but it is going to keep me busy for a while going through them all :scared1: I know that there are plenty to weed out, so I won't be uploading all 1770!

Tom - are there any limits on the photo sharing site? Should I upload at the full size? The jpgs range from 3,000 to over 5,000 kB each.

From a WB'er, more laundry rooms, with aircon!

I agree.. more laundry rooms:thumbsup2

And on a sad note..came home to find out that Petey our younger cat had died:sad1: last Friday he wasn't feeling well and they took him to vet on Saturday..cancer was all throughout his body....it was a shock because he NEVER showed any symptoms...we are all heartbroken including my Peanut cat,,he misses his buddy....

Chrissie

I am so sorry Chrissie..:grouphug:

Came home to some sad family news. Found out my uncle passed away. Tough timing (well it's always tough) but this past weekend was our family reunion. None of his part of the family were there. We always referred to him as our "Fearless Leader" since he was the eldest of my dad's siblings. He lost his wife of 60+ years about 6 months ago and deteriorated rapidly after that. Broken heart I believe. Wish I could go to the services but I have no one to take care of Trevoy.

Monica - :grouphug: sorry about the school situation and Trevoy.. hope things turn around for him.. condolences about your uncle..

Though it still looks like a very distinct chance we will be going on strike as of 12:01AM Thursday. The union is recommending that we vote no on the contract Boeing is offering and also vote to authorize a strike. We vote tomorrow and will know by tomorrow night if we are striking. I need to look over paperwork to find out what the company is offering.

Discovered that while we were on the TOAL, someone was using my debit card number fraudulently to the tune of about 2500.00. Since DH and I both have our cards, they had to have made a card with my number on it. All the activity took place up here in Washington. Don't know when, where or how they got the number. I should have the money back in my account in 10 business days at the most. It could take up to 60 days to research everything.

Hope you get the credit card straightened out.. and your job strike.. :grouphug:

:cool1: Where's our thread??? ;)

2) Go back to the old menus! I thought the food was repetitive, unimaginative & not very good. About the only thing I enjoyed at dinner was the bread. The steak dishes were usually okay, but everytime I veered away to try something new, I didn't like it. The baby scallops were chewy & fishy tasting & they showed up frequently in any seafood dish I ordered. Desserts weren't that good either. I still managed to gain a ton of weight though. Go figure!

I agree Diane.. the menu's were unimaginative.. DH ate from the kids menu a lot of the time..

Great pics!
the last one- Rita is in the picture!
Look at red hat on lady- look over to left directly from red hat- you can barely see her (brown hair and face is all you see) directly like under where the guy is standing with black swim trunks on... like look at his arm- where his hand is- that's Rita!
I saw the photo and thought you might see us- but all you see is Rita. I'm probably slightly off the picture to the right as she kept wandering a little away from me the other direction (and I wasn't worried- she swims like a fish) Cool beans you snagged a picture of Rita without even knowing it. LOL

And I have to get up early to get everyone out to get Ruby to before school band practice at 6:45am which is also totally ridick (IMO- what happened to after school practices? I mean for real people..... she has to get up at like 4:30 to shower and get ready for that and I have to get everyone up to take her that early. give me a break band director.. puhlease) I'm seriously a bit worried how she's going to have time to do her homework! She's in all advanced placement/honors classes with band and soccer. IDK what practices and games she'll have with soccer (don't know yet) but with band it's band practice from 6:45am to school starting, Tuesday nights 6-9pm, games on Thurs and Friday nights, competitions most saturdays AND they said they'd schedule after school sectionals after the 2nd week? (this is the 2nd week btw LOL). Even just band alone I'm wondering when she's going to have time to do homework and/or sleep- add in practices and games with soccer and woo boy...... it's going to be tough!
(ps. I had no idea they put her in all AP/honors classes either. I knew she was in advanced classes last year and got credit for the algebra she took last year but IDK what I was thinking- I just didn't realize that meant she'd be in AP/honors classes in highschool too. LOL Her plate sure is full- that's all I'm saying. I don't know if she can manage all this plus all her church stuff too! And she's starting a week after everyone else. Let's all say a little prayer for Ruby please.... no joke- she's not the most organized kid by a long shot and her grades had started dropping the last half of last year.. mostly from not turning in her homework that she had completed! She does it and then loses it in her binder/backpack and/or forgets to turn it in till it's too late. I'm a bit worried with her having so much on her plate AND in honors classes.....)

Remember when I wrote this last night?
Well I just got the email from the band director about their first game tomorrow night..... and they are loading up at 3:30 (the minute school gets out) and will be returning from this away game approximately at 11:30pm.

now I ask you- when is this child supposed to do homework? I mean nevermind the fact she has makeup work to do for missing the first week- nevermind that. When are they supposed to do ANY homework? I think I'm gonna find out if they can bring homework on the bus because this is totally ridiculous..... 11:30pm is way past her bedtime anyway! (friday games I was aware of- and no biggie because they don't have school the next day and only sometimes have band competitions on Friday and she'd have the rest of the weekend to do homework before Monday- but on A THURSDAY NIGHT being gone from 3:30pm to 11:30pm? arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh)

:scared1: Just saw that someone uploaded the speedo parade...My apologies to those blinded by me :flower3:

Thanks to those who returned entries for the FE Pirate "Poker" Run. We had around 45 entries returned. I posted the results on our door, but since it was the end of the cruise, thought most wouldn't have seen, so I'll list them here. We actually had a "Five of a Kind" submitted by our wonderful tablemates Deanna (buckifan) and Rob. We made them "Honorary" Pirate Kings as they weren't really FE participants, but we wanted to share with them some of the fun. We awarded them a nice DCL Pirate Photo Frame. Of the FE participants, the awards were:

PIRATE KING: Tiger24 with a Full House (3 Queens, 2 Kings). Awarded: An antique deck of Souvenir Panama Canal Playing Cards. Printed in 1926, these were very nice. They had images of the construction of the canal and images of early transits. The suit of Spades featured early 1920's images of U.S. battleships transitting the canal. You could tell the story of Pearl Harbor with these cards, as the Arizona, Maryland, West Virginia, Tennessee and others all passed through the Canal and were imaged in this set. I showed these to Captain Puckett (apologies if I have his name wrong) who was doing the Canal presentations all week. He had seen many of the images through the national archives, but wasn't aware that they were at one time printed on souvenir playing cards. So he mentioned he'd be checking out e-bay when he got home.:) He was a super interesting guy. I saw him up on top deck after the mexican deck party as my DD9 and Rob's DD8 wanted to stay for the Cheetah Girl premiere. I asked him if he was from Ohio because he really seemed to talk up Ohio's part in constructing the canal. He seemed surprised, but said "Yes, I'm from east of Columbus." He sat down and chatted for the next 1-1/2 hours while we waited out the Cheetah girl movie.

COMMODORE: Fincantieri with a Flush. Awarded a deck of cards with the group's "DIS & Captain Jack Arrrr Back" logo on the back of the cards.

CAPTAIN: 4FosterKids with a Straight. Also received a deck of cards with the group's logo.

CHARTMAN: Tina (I believe ID is CastawayTina?). She submitted the worst hand with a Jack being the high card. We awarded her a Captain Jack Sparrow Pirate Flag.

Thanks again to all who played along. We had a fun time planning it and it sounded like many of you enjoyed it.

LOL
That was such a fun idea... and we would have participated but we totally couldn't find the flag. LOL
We wouldn't have won anyway... we had a run of 8's and a joker- but then got a Q so we only had 4 of a kind counting the joker as an 8. LOL
It was fun playing it though- kept looking for another card to arrive and getting excited when we'd get another 8 or the joker LOL --- what a great idea!!!!! and so sneaky to not let us know who was doing it- even before the last card and realizing we had to find where to present the cards each day I was wondering who was doing the pirate poker. LOL

Did they find Aly and AJ? They were over by the rugby game at the end of the family beach. ;)

Hey there!
Did you see my post thanks to you a few pages back? hope so! :)

Pamela

Feel free to upload full size, we have a traffic limit of something like a terabyte??

Clearly this was written prior to the evening show. Sad to say but Darren Romeo was the worst show I saw on board. But then again I didn't go see Aly and AJ and I heard that was bad. I don't understand how Darren Romeo could have won "Entertainer of the Year".

ITA!!! DH walked out, and so did our table mates. If I could have gotten up without disturbing the ppl next to me, I would have..but I had ds with me, nad it was easier to sit there and suffer.

I didn't go to the concert..DD went on her own..we went to Aruba to shop :thumbsup2 .

Just a reminder we have the photo sharing site at http://thepiratezone.smugmug.com

Several people are already uploading some great pics!

Also, the Pirate Night photo, courtesy of Ed Martin and his wife can be viewed/downloaded at http://www.rgpweb.com/PirateZone.jpg

Many many huge thanks to them for all they did!

You can access instructions on uploading/downloading to the photo sharing at http://www.thepiratezone.us/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=305

You can also e-mail photos to the site at thepiratezone@email.smugmug.com but you must put Pirate in the subject line (nothing else)
Thanks again for posting this and to all that post pictures. I will eventually too!
I'm looking thru and already snagged some of the sailaway party- thanks to those that took pictures of us. LOL
(LOL @ tom mentioning who's idea was it to wear black shirts on deck 10 meeting on embarkation day. Well it wasn't me! Which is why we were all in lime green shirts except for DH who likes black -so he wore the black shirt. LOL It sure makes it easy to find us in the sailaway party too! LOL)

OmG I totally didn't know they REALLY did the speedo parade for the wenches tea!
Oh I'm dying here.. :lmao: :lmao: hil-arious

Many hugs to my friends who came home to departed pets...

Mine were alive but i don't think kept as well as I would have liked...

Abby hit shedding season so we pretty much had to part the dog hair to even get in the house. Her ears were pretty matted too.

Wonder what the dogs did the whole time?

Some better news on the job front. (not great but something)

I'm going for an interview for a temporary assignment at the local community college. It's only two weeks but at least a foot in the door.

Okay who is this family?
This darling girl was PRECIOUS at the Club's talent show and I had no idea it was a daughter of a DIS'er???????

Extra special thanks to:
All those that particpated in the FE exchange- what fun that was and what awesome items we received! Thank you all so much! (and special thanks to Julie for task forcing the cabin updates for the FE exchange!)

All those that handled the shirts, lanyards, nametags, wristbands, patch exchange, etc. You guys are awesome!

A Litle Pixie Dust for the water shoes- thank you!

Cruisin'Mike's wife Linda for the use of her tiki mickey shirt/skirt- I appreciate it so much!!!! I almost forgot to return it to you- that's why when I was packing the last night I had my husband run it up there real quick (and apparently you weren't there so you may not know my husband ran it up there LOL) I really hope that didn't mess up your own packing! I'm sorry- I really did almost forget to return it to you! :scared1: (and thank you for the FE gift- way cool- love it!!!!)

Lotsofboys for the tickets you bought for us.. you saved us a ton of money and I didn't even find you on the cruise to give you real hugs for doing that for us! wahhhhhhhhhhhhhh (did you get my note on your door though? I wondered if you got it)

darthrugby for all you did planning and organizing the rugby practice, game and ofcourse for the Konk Kooler & DH's beer. You rock! Jeff had a great time- especially for someone who didn't know a lick about rugby until the practice. LOL
And btw..... it's Nicolette I'm supposed to be addressing the DVD to that I'm sending-right? I found it last night........ in the inside zipper pocket of the luggage that I decided not to take and took everything out of it (and put that stuff in other luggage to take less with us) but apparently FORGOT to get the stuff out of the zipper pocket. That was one of the many things I left in that luggage like a goofball. LOL And I managed to make sure I kept your address that you wrote out. I'll be sending that to your daughter tomorrow- promise! :)

CaptainCrash- for the ice cream bar eating contests which I think were totally awesome! DCL should totally add that to their navigators as a regular thing they do. LOL Extra special thank you for the tinkerbell shirt! That was so unexpected and I'll be honest- I worried it wouldn't fit me because well, things just usually don't fit me- especially Disney tees- they are usually too tight in areas I don't want them to be or otherwise too long in length and too long on the sleeves- but this one fit PERFECT! I absolutely love it. I wore it on the day before Castaway Cay but I don't think I saw you that day. I'm sure if I had seen you again I'd have been gushing about how it fit me perfectly. Maybe I need you to go shopping for my clothes since you made it look so easy? Or your wife if she's the one that picked it out? :lmao:

Doreen, Marty, Daniel and Karen for being the best tablemates (& teen spy/personal photographer... hehe) anyone could wish for. We miss you already!!!!!!!!!

Wendy (smeecanada) for organizing the Electrical Parade meet and being so kind & friendly to us during the cruise!

Julie and Monica for organizing the fantasmic meet and putting out sheets for us and sitting there forever to hold spots for us and everything. that was awesome! (and special thanks to Monica for listening to me the few times I saw you and I'm sure I went on and on and on just gabbing away LOL I hope I didn't make you late to that last dinner!)

Grandmax3 for organizing the Wenches lunch!

All those that participated in the pirate procession at dinner on pirate night- that was so awesome and your pirate outfits were incredible!

Todd for putting up with everyone wanting their photo with "Captain Jack Sparrow". ;) Did anyone else even bother to get photos with DCL's Jack Sparrow? LOL we didn't......

And to anyone else I may have forgotten AT THIS MOMENT but please know everything you did is appreciated! I know there were lots of other things organized that we didn't personally participate in but you all deserve huge thanks for doing your part to make everyone's trip truly a TOAL! :grouphug:

I'm just bumping this up- cause I wanna.

Hey folks, I hope you can bear with me through another post like this, but looks like I'm in for some rough times ahead. Trevoy is really depressed over being home. This is beyond the normal post vacation blues. He's really down. Added to that is the stress over going back to school, which is his main trigger for his depression. And he's afraid of my brother again. Trevoy was talking to his grandma about the trip and admitted that he got into it with me. My brother overheard and pretty much went off on Trevoy. Unfortunately I wasn't around and don't know exactly what happened.

We've got an appointment next week with the therapist, but I'm going to try to get him in tomorrow after school. I'm seeing the same symptoms as in the past and I fear that another hospital stay may be coming on.

:grouphug:

Good Morning from Nassau.....

Just arrived at Nassau, really hoping we make it back to CC on Friday, we just have to wait and see what Hanna does. I should be updating my blog this evening. We have the Pirate Party tonight......;)

Just thought I'd drop by and say hello.

Had lunch with Todd and Melissa yesterday on CC.

Hazel and I have dinner each night with Becky(minnieandmickey). Having a great time. Should be updating my blog later this evening. Will be getting off the ship in a little bit. Angelina asked us to see if we could a special t-shirt for her here in Nassau.

Bye for Now.......:wave2:

Hi Andy!!!

Man, that looks like you all had a BLAST on the Jolly Pirates cruise! We totally should have done that. I mean my son really wanted to do seatrek but DePalm Island turned out to be such a total bust for all of us really... hindsight 20/20 because now I see we should have done that excursion instead! Looks like you all had a lot of fun on that excursion!
