I got a call from the company I interviewed with. They are in the final selection process and asked that I provide them 3 references. I've sent those off so we'll see what happens.

Yes. LOTS! And heat makes it worse...it was 106 yesterday......

He thought the pain was from something else so, he was using a heating pad for 2 wks before he went to the Dr.
Our oldest 2 children get shingles, also. So, does his mom & brother. This was the first time that dh got them... I told him there must be something hereditary about the *chicken px* virus since they all get cold sores, too. Luckily there are so many good medications out there to get rid of the stuff quickly.

Although the dr wouldn't even tell him what was good to take for the pain. He kept ignoring dh whenever he asked. It was his regular dr so, he should be able to tell by his records that he isn't some type of pain medicine junkie.

Poor guy! Prayers that he is feeling better soon!

That would be awesome and would love for it to happen...but I'm a teacher and I don't know if my principal would appreciate that...I wouldn't mind, though.

I'm a Melissa...in some of my undergrad classes, there were 4 of us! This is probably half of the reason why I hate my name.

My name is not common now, but it was for my age group. In 7th grade there were four of us with my name in my section. My English teacher called me "Linda by the Winda" and he actually remembered the nickname ten years after that!

I am only because I have had a bunch for years that are still good. I have AT&T and the minute ratio is not good. Mexico or any part of will use 8 minutes of my time, Columbia will use nine minutes to talk 1 minute and Arbua and the Islands my cards are not good because of their government restrictions. We have 8 suitcases weighing between 47 and 49 pounds each, plus 2 garment bags that we had to body slam to get closed. Door magnets, Pirate Navigators, kids journals, etc are still going in the side pockets of those. Then we have 4 or 5 carryons. We'll be tipping our porter well and it will definitely be worth it!

Pointer Sisters - I'm still back on page 55.

As for porters, I was talking to our porter when we got on and off in July, both of the guys said that they like Disney. Said the people are a lot nicer than on some of the other cruise lines. And that they tip well too! Don't know if he was aiming but we tipped him $20 for 6 of us so just about $1 - $1.50 or more. I thought we cheated him but DH said that was fine and the guys seemed really happy. He stayed with us while DH parked the car.

106...yikes! It's been fairly cool here this week (highs in the upper 70's). The kids must have thought summer was over as they asked me if it was going to be hot on the cruise...

Those are great... just make sure your name and stateroom are on it... wouldn't want anyone getting a couple of boxes of goodies by mistake, now would we???

I have two classrooms....one for the "play" centers, and the other for academic work, etc. The toy room is pretty much all ready to go. I have three bulletin boards up in there and did not take them down, just covered them up. Lazy? Sure, but they're good enough to stay up all year.

In the other classroom, I left my Circle Time bulletin board up because it never changes and because you have to stand on a ladder to hang stuff up on it. The other two boards I put up new fadeless paper and the decorations up at the end of last year and covered it with black garbage bags. I also have two bulletin boards in the hallway, but I couldn't decorate them for two reasons: 1. the custodians were painting the hallways and 2. they're falling out of the wall.

I have my work cut out for me when I get back.

I think this is what is worrying me more than anything. We also usually drive so we just pull up and drop the bags off at the terminal. I guess we'll figure it all out.

We're flying in to LAX also. Arriving tomorrow at 1:15. How about you?

The bags are packed and in the minivan. The carryons are ready by the door. Now if only I was tired so that I could get some sleep. We leave in 4 hours!!! I can't believe this is happening. In 24 hours I will be seeing DL!!!!!

Just one more tip... the laundry rooms were a ZOO on board... think 15 days... take soap with you - they started to run out by the end of week 2... put change in either an M&M's tube (quarters of course...) or an old prescription bottle to bring with you.... and you're not going to believe it....but the ONLY sane time to do the wash was at 2 AM... (we had room service delivered and brought drinks and had a mini party...)

Which is exactly why I have packed enough for us for the three weeks we will be gone so that I do not have to deal with that madhouse. We have heard horror stories from the WB repo cruise and I really do not care to have any part in it. I know that we will be sending DS & DH's dinner pants to be cleaned after two wears or one if they get really dirty. Other than that we should be covered.

JetBlue and Delta have grandfathered us with the baggage charges, so we are still allowed 2 each.

Gosh you all are so awesome and I am trying to catch up with all of you.

Just saying hi and can't wait to go.. Just been cleaning house and making sure everything is clean because I don't want to come up to a dirty house lol

I hope everyone is having a great evening. DS had his first day of high school. Yikers I feel so old I just remember when he was in my arms and now I can't do that anymore, I may sound dumb or weird but I miss that with my kids. They grow up so fast and now so stubborn. I sometimes miss them being small and wishing I can take advantage of it more again. Only me and DD are somewhat packed and the boys are making me nervous because they want to do at last minute YIKERS. I am just alittle pantic because they haven't done nothing.

I am just trying to make sure no one forgets anything.

Oh, question I know that people have asked this but on the medicine such as Pepto Bizmo ect..do we have to take the box or can they be in the plastic with the labels on it? I don't want to take the whole bottles or boxes. Trying to save space. DH says I don't really need any medicine but I worry that the kids may need it or him, himself lol. I don't know what to do about that. I am putting it in a ziploc bag.

We are doing dinner at Kona. We've never eaten there and dd wanted to eat at the Polynesian.... I told her that her middle sister (17dd) and I thought that hotel was too loud. But, loud is right up her alley! LOL!
DH's favorite resturant is Teppan Edo.

Yes, I am quoting you again... I just found out that Primeval Whirl is going to be closed when we're there starting on Sept 2nd. I think that and Spectromagic are the only 2 scheduled to be closed when we're there.
