QUESTION FOR THOSE WHO HAVE CRUISED DCL WITH A PASSPORT BEFORE....

Now that we have gone and spent all the money for a passport I want to get the stamps in it when we go somewhere. I think that I read on the main board that you need to drop your PP off at guest services to have them do this. Is this right or is there something else you need to do. TIA!

More importantly, what flight are you taking? ;) Have you convinced DH that the ship sails on 8/15 yet?

I still want to leave on 8/14. DH wants to work as much of the weekend as he can, but there is no way we are not leaving after Saturday. Since that is the case, he can't work any of the weekend, hence we can leave Thursday. Sounds good right?;)

Sounds like a plan to me! :thumbsup2 Can he take a laptop and just work in the hotel while you enjoy DL?

Even Rich was watching the thread today. They let me go earlier so DS is coming over to help with some printing. Hopefully he will bring the laptop.

Lisa, I remember in Nassau, if you wanted to get your passport stamped, there was a booth in the terminal. Probably the same in the other ports.

I am not an expert on this as until now DCL, have taken our passports into custody for the full cruise as we are Non USA residents, however I to have read on the main forum, that you can get your passport stamped with the ports of call, just go to guest services, it has to be on the day off the port call, not after, and they will get it done. Use your D/L to get on /off instead.

I guess they take it off into the port building and get them to put the stmp in during the day.

We have been on the eastern and western but do not remember a terminal in any of the ports. :confused3

I guess that I will take them down to GS the night before the port then. Thanks Andrew. :)

I might try it as well, as I understand from my UK, friends they didn't take their passports on the Westbound Repo, and didn't have to get up at the crack of dawn on the last morning to call in with USA Immigration.

Maybe the USA does want our $'s nowadays, up to now I always think, why bother, have a vacation and loose all the rest on the last day.

That is why I went for stickers that DD had to put on the back of each card! Finnished & packed the last of them today, so very little else to do now until the last minute when all hell breaks loose!

Celestine

That's exactly what my DW said to do. I should have listened.

I just called Disney to ask about this...

And they said getting passport stamps with the ships' assistance was NOT an option.

Perhaps the CM I spoke to and her advisor off line (whom she consulted) do NOT know how to get stamps which otherwise are available.

Well...

... this sounds promising ... however, I would NOT want to get a port stamp from other than an authentic govenrment offficial rendering official stamps .... NOT an unauthorized tourist stamp. Otherwise, if this is all they do then I might as well set up a booth and offer Passport stamps for a modest fee, eh?

Thanks interesting, I have read of people doing it somehow, and hey have posted it on the main board, maybe they took them into the port and asked.

Yup...

If no one else is doing it in port than look for my web booth and I'll furnish pseudo stamps for a modest fee... I do accept paypal.... and for those from overseas I do accept pounds sterling too.

< wink >

Keep checking the Disney cruise website for the Cabo dolphins. I was able to change our time this week. We are now going at 9:45 I believe it is. I was afraid of being in the water at 2:30 if I couldn't use sunscreen. I know it won't be that much better in the morning, but it should help a little bit.

I'll keep checking the website. There does seems to be quite a bit of movement with excursions becoming available and then being fully booked. I am beginning to have a change of heart about the 2:30 time slot though which I don't think is so bad - we'll still have most the the day free. I do agree with you about the afternoon sun though.
