:scared1: OH MY!!!! Maybe I won't push to book the horseback riding excursion for DD in Cabo. It doesn't seem like good karma in that port.

Remember Cabo is where I was almost drowned and beaten to a bloody pulp. And my glasses are still there somewhere. Not planning ANY excursions for Cabo.;)

No, I forgot which port that happend to you. :grouphug: They don't want you advertising Cabo...that's for sure. :)

I'm so Happy!!!! :cool1: I was checking out Mousesavers for any ticket discounts and happened to notice that they had one for members of the Teachers Union,of which I am! So I sent an email to the folkes, asking if it was available to people from out of state, received an answer of "yes". Gave them my member # and I will have a 1 Day Hoppers (for $70 each) in my mailbox within 2 weeks!!!! :dance3:  :dance3:  :dance3:

Hi everyone ... Just wanted to thank you all for your kind wishes. Mom is doing as well as can be expected. She is in a lot of pain, but they can't do anything until she is off the coumadin. She is also suffering from Pancratitis, which I believe is caused by the inflammation from the Gall Bladder. I felt so useless last night, as it is hard to see her in such pain and knowing that you can't do anything to help. I live an hour and a half from the hospital. I don't know if I can make it there tonight, but will definitely be on the phone to talk to her. My brother Chris is a little confused being at my place, but he is so happy-go-lucky, that as long as he has his movies, he is fine. He doesn't like hospitals at all, so he was quite happy to leave and come to my place.

I haven't really been following the boards that much. I hear there is a list of cabins for the Fish Extender Gifts. Where and when will this list be available? Are we to print it first? How many FE Gifts are we up to now? I have enough gifts for 150, so I should be fine. I can give extras to the crew. I also remember reading about an onboard DIS newsletter for our group? Again, where and when will this be available and are we expected to print it before we leave?

I just found out that my friends dental hygenist is also on this cruise. Don't know if she is on the DIS or not. Anyone out there from K-W area????? If not, I will definitely educate her on this great group of Disney nuts!

Wow, I think this is the longest post I've had on the DIS, or at least on this thread.

Glad for the good news. :thumbsup2

Great deal Debi!

I cancelled our Acapulco excursion. I have heard from so many people here at home that Acapulco has really gone down hill. So we may be joining those going to the fort or just play it by ear. Have heard good things about Cartagena! Met a lady over the weekend whose dh flew there Saturday.

Cruise Questions!
Is anyone bringing 2-radios with them? Wondering how the reception would be with all the metal. Also is anyone bringing extra hangers? I have a bunch of plastic and also cleaner hangers. I seem to remember that there aren't many hangers in the closet.:confused3

I know everyone is going to be majorly jealous but... The Jonas Brothers are moving to Dallas! :rotfl2: Apparantly one of the brothers was born here so they are "coming home".
I feel sure I will not run into them at the grocery store.

Our DD turns 10 on 8/19. We are bringing some decorations for the room, a bday tiara and the card to get signed at Guest services. I will bring a small gift or 2 to open and we were just going to give her shipboard money to buy some stuff onboard and cash for trinkets in the ports. She loved shopping in the ports during our 2005 trip. Luckily she has 15 family members cruising with us, so it will feel like a celebration...although the thought of 250 pirates singing is amazing too.

Our daughter also has a birthday (turning 9). I am planning to decorate the door differently while she sleeps, and have some birthday decorations for the room that I am going to try to get in there without her seeing. Also plan to surprise the kids with the dolphin encounter that I reserved yesterday.

I think given the number of BDays we are hearing about on here...there will be lots of singing pirate: s

I didn't realize the card could be signed, so I will have to pick-up something soon for that.

Keep the ideas coming...I would love some more surprises.

uh oh! I am not sure I know how to make sugar-free chocolate chip cookies.
Give me a hint and I can go from there.

Oh Coral, it's gotta be the Real Thing or nothin' at all girl! Kevin's on an insulin pump and counts carbs and has gotten to be quite the expert at it actually. Oh before I forget, he wanted me to ask you a question; we always pick up sandwiches from Arby's to eat on the plane and at layovers,is there one fairly close to you that we can stop by before getting to your place?

BIP, I have the same problem with pants/shorts. I just went to buy some new and one size the waist was huge, and the size down wouldn't allow for eating at all! So, for now, I will just stick with what I have and cinch up the waist with a belt on the ones that are too big. Also, please don't worry about the dining room. I don't remember if you have early or late dining, but my DH and I won't be dressing up as pirates. The kids have costumes from Halloween, but we don't, so we will just be wearing the bandanas. You have paid for the dinners when you paid for your cruise, so just come and enjoy them. We all want you to come to dinner.

Ditto!! :grouphug:

How on earth did THIS happen??? I've been reading and reading and doing my best to stay ketchupped on this thread ... but I haven't POSTED until now :scared1: I'll be lucky if the Captain doesn't make me walk the plank ... gotta remember to save some rum as an bribe ;)

Ok, 4 weeks out (give or take) and I'm starting to panic about when and how I'm going to accomplish everything that needs to be accomplished between now and then. I'm starting to make baby steps ... but it seems that for every task I cross off the list, I'm add two more to the bottom

See you all in only 26 more "wake-ups" pirate:

From what I remember, you guys have been to the bridge, right? So I guess that wouldn't help make his day more special...but you can ask someone to do it, if you thought he'd enjoy it again.

Can we request to go to the bridge for a special occasion? My DD would flip!!!:dance3:

I do the Arby's thing too! It is so convenient isn't it!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPHANIE

WOO HOO. I posted a picture and centered it. I think I am getting the hang of this. And just for you Stephanie.:cake: :bday:

UGH! I am upset because now DD is disappointed with our plans in Cabo. I finally got through to the horse stable and they told me that there is no way that we can get there for the 10 am tour if the ship is not scheduled to be in Cabo until 9:30. :( DD found out that we were planning to take her since she has been doing so well with her lessons this year and now we can't go. :( The only stable that I have found that will let kids under 10 ride is The Gold Mine Ranch in Aruba. Has anyone found any info about this place? It looks good online but I would like to make sure that the horses are well cared for and healthy. I am going to start reading through Cruise Critic to see if I can find something there. TIA!

Did you reserve the Dolphin Encounter at Sea Life Park? Which time slot did you get? We are also surprising our kids with this excursion.

We're still doing that tour as it is the one thing DD was adamant she wanted to do. We're not doing the shopping one. Hoping that DCL have acted on prior feedback & have the tour description ready incase a trip via guest services is required on return!

Celestine

We're doing the Acapulco Highlights, Shopping and Cliff Divers. I have always wanted to see the cliff divers. I booked Palo Brunch and Tea and then went to shore excursions. The one without shopping was gone. I would do the tour on my own but I too am afraid of not getting in because it must be a special showing. Also, the fort opens later so I figured the only way to get to the fort and cliff divers is to do the tour. We'll see what happens. Is anyone going to Hard Rock Cafe in Acapulco? We collect the dressed bears from all the Hard Rock Cafes.

Our anniversary is on 8/20 and that's the night we're going to Rhythms of the Night in Puerto Vallarta. We will not be having dinner in the dining room. Can we postpone our on the cruise celebration to the next night? Do they do anything for anniversaries?

Hello All! This is our 1st post, though we have been eavesdropping for years! We are going to be cruising with all of you on the great adventure. We are excited yet slightly apprehensive to jump in to all these posts. You all seem like such close friends, it's a tad intimidating. My DH is Roger and we have two DDs; Brenna 9 and Erin 6. Oh! I'm Melissa.

Thanks for all the tips in the past, oh say 8 or 9 YEARS!!!!!

:welcome: :welcome:

I've been a DIS member since 2002, but just found out on this cruise about the "meet threads"! Don't be intimidated -- I jumped into this thread around February and have been treated very warmly. My DW joined the DIS and jumped in a little over a month ago. Everyone treats us like we've been here since it started.

Feel free to start off by telling us a little more about your pre-cruise plans and the excursions you've booked!

I have a six year old son who hasn't met anyone he doesn't like! He loves making new friends and the counselors at the club always comment about him when we pick him up.

Hi Christopher It was fun meeting your family and Russel and Dawn.

I thought I would share my familes Cruise plans so we could see if we are doing any of the same things.

LA comming in on the 15th playing this day by ear. 16th heading to CA then to DL for the day.....

I hope we have at least one of the same Activites planed.

Yes, it was great meeting you as well this past weekend. I don't think we're doing any of the same excursions, except at PV. However, we're doing it one hour after yours starts, but I'm sure we'll cross paths there.

 :cool1: Looks like we will be in good company. pirate: We have never seen the cliff divers and I have always heard about them. Like the Panama Canal, it is something I think I need to see once in my lifetime.

After seeing all of the responses and the ones after this, I must admit that I'm still on the fence. The reviews were just so bad on this and the pictures that I found of the cliff divers didn't make it look that spectacular. Has anyone who's seen the Acapulco cliff divers tell me if this is really worth the $$ for the excursion. For the five of us, it's about $230. Thanks!

No explanation at all. Even at first at the CC reception, when somene asked what the reason was for the stop, we got? What trouble? I guess when it happened again, at 1 pm, they had to come up with something.
BTW, this was not my fault but DisneySweetie said it can be because all I had to do was look. :rotfl2:

So DH and I go to have breakfast, Parrot Cay closed so we head off to Pluto's playhouse. As we are eating, I look to my left and see a double parasailing couple going "down to get their feet wet." EXCEPT......they don't get their feet wet, they go completely under as well as the parachute. So I think - ok they will pull them out. No Go! Seems the engine died on the boat. So next I'm watching them trying to pull the couple out of the water, which is not the smoothiest mind you - the Magic is rolling just a bit in the water here. So next I see another small boat come. Everyone on the boat had to transfer after they ungraciously managed to pull the couple in the water onto the 2nd boat. They were in the water for about 10 minutes before the boat came. I'm just glad I wasn't on that excursion. I'm hoping its local toursits from hotels and not from a DCL excursion. Else, they may be wanting their $$ back. Oh and the original boat was being pulled via a rope! :scared1: NOW - are you sure you all want to go parasailing here in Cabo?

Oh yeah - according to guest services - zip lining in Cabo has been completely cancelled. WHy? not sure but she made it seem like the company was gone. Has this been discussed before and I'm just a day late and a dollar short again?

Oh yeah, Visions of the Sea managed to pull right next to us. I've never seen a ship pull this close to us in the ocean. I can practically see into the cabins windows. Even our stateroom host was surprised. They blocked our lovely view of Lover's beach for about 1/2 hour. Now they moved up a little bit. Hmm.......has DCL fallen out of favor??????? :rotfl2:

Stateroom host wanted to know how they ranked the better spot - so see, its not just me - its the 13th curse, ok - I'm feeling a bit better so off I go to see what I can do to cheer myself up. Maybe a trinket or two or three, its hot, humid and beautiful sunny - so I'm getting my hat on - someone point me to the nearest Sam's Club! :rotfl:

As for me looking - that I had nothing to do with! (Even if I did look down in time to see it all go down! :lmao: ) Poor couple, they got more then they bargained for.

Later all :wave2:

Great, now I'll never get my DW to join me parasailing! :confused3

All I can say is I'm glad the PC is your 14th cruise.....:lmao:

ITA!!!! :lmao: :lmao:
