Geez..i am such an airhead..I can't believe I didn't put down Avis!! DOH!!!!
Wow, I got the same rate..but didn't have that issue when I reserved the car. But we also got the mini van..with 4 of us and all that luggage..we need it!!

US TOO!!! LOL! I told DH that I got us a van and he said that would cost us too much. NOT! I went through all of the Mousesavers rental listings until I found the code. Yes I was desperate for a deal in FL.

Monica, are you wearing shorts for zip lining? I bought capris for this because of the harness. Do yoou have any experience with this?

They are actually bermuda shorts, so almost as long as capris. All the videos I've seen of various zip lines, everyone is wearing shorts. I was originally going to wear capris, but then realized that I wouldn't want anything to happen to the ones I'm bringing. I found an inexpensive pair of bermuda shorts made out of board short material. I figured if I sweat (or get too scared on the zip ) they will dry quickly. And since they were only $7 (Walmart) I wouldn't care if they got ripped or overly dirty or something.

I end up paying a lot more, but I just seems easier. (maybe I'm just lazy ) Although this year I had to buy a gym uniform for DS11. So far I'm two strikes for two. I bought one pirate shirt too small & his $100.00 custom soccer uniform wearable, but small.

You should bring the pirate shirt anyway- someone could probably wear it! Unlesss you have a younger kid to pass it down to and have it too big for them but still wearable? LL
I hear you (and if it's lazy- so what! LOL) -it was always more $$ but it was easier!

Our PTA does this too. But, conveniently, they also actually deliver the supplies to the classes so they are waiting there for the kids on the first day of school. I have found that the price is sometimes higher than if I just bought everything myself, but since I don't have to run around (to multiple stores, sometimes) and then have the kids cart everything with them on the first day, it's worth it!

This is actually why I liked it. It cost more BUT A) I didn't have to run around from store to store trying to find all the specific stuff and wasting tons of gas (which is expensive nowadays ofcourse!) and B) having it there made life a lot easier on all of us on that first day. Especially with 2 in elementary and it's way too much stuff for each of them to carry on their own. WAY too much. So we'd all be loaded up, sometimes I'd have to make several trips to the car to get it all. major PITA
I wish they still did it here.

I have a 22 month old and a 3 (almost 4) year old, as well as an 8 and a 10 year old. So...we're trying to do some fun things, in addition to some educational excursions. Right now we're planning on the Harbor Cruise & Scenic Drive in Cabo, Dolphin Encounter at Sealife Park in PV (on our own)...the nice thing about this one is that kids as young as 1 can participate and kids under 5, I think, are free with their parents...plus there is a water park which is included with your Dolphin Encounter price, in Acapulco we are booked for the Cliff Divers but I really think we're going to cancel and join the walking tour to the Fort, Deluxe Cartagena & Fortress with Folklore Show, and De Palm Island Beach Getaway in Aruba.

Crash, I have to ask if you are in CA. I can't help but notice how everyone in the pictures at the playground has jackets on. People who have been to CA in the summer tell me that it will be different than here in NC in August but I never imagined anyone needing even a light jacket during the day in July.

I noticed the same thing! I totally did..... I was thinking wow- everyone is in long sleeved and jackets, in July, how odd. LOL
But then it's a bit different in the summer for us Texans. LOL

There are Hard Rock Cafes in Cabo San Lucas, Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco and Cartagena. I'm hoping to get to most of them. The only one that is going to be tough to get to is Acapulco because of the short amount of time there and the Hard Rock is not near the port.

Has anyone attempted to predict our Character Breakfast day??

Assuming what we've heard is correct...the early linked group will be on PLA at 6:00...when would we have Character Breakfast??

My guess is Saturday 8/23 since that will be the first sea day for that rotation in PC. You have it the morning of the first day at sea on the night you are scheduled for dinner in PC...if that makes sense.

Bummer start to the week - DS9 woke up sick this morning (headache, upset stomach, no fever). He was supposed to go over to Fermilab this morning for the first day of a class called "noodlin with Newton". It is 2 hours per day for 3 days. I don't know yet if the days build on each other or not.

I'm letting him rest for now, but in a while I'm going to drag him into the office with me (plus of working for the family business) since I have a lot to get done there. Hopefully, he'll feel better by this evening for his swimming lesson.

Trevoy is sick too. Unfortunately it's more than an upset stomach. He's leaking at both ends. He's still in bed. Trying to get him to sleep as much as possible.

He's missing a day of summer school. They really frown upon missing any days since it's such a short time. This is the last week though and he's been doing well, so hopefully this won't hurt him.

For anyone who is going to try doing the fireworks and then the later showing of Fantasmic. You want to head to Frontier Land to get to the Rivers of America after the fireworks.

I got the following from a friend on another board who is a CM.

If you see the fireworks from main street (which is best) you need to try and go through Frontierland after-they route people one way in and out to expedite getting you to Fantasmic so the ins come through Frontier and outs are routed through adventure-avoid adventure from 8:30 on
