Any On the swimsuit debate, I'm brining WAY more than I actually need, but suits take up such a minimal amount of packing space, I didn't think it mattered. If anyone needs a suit, come find me. I'm sure I'll have some to spare. :)

I'm with you. Several swimsuits (5) and a couple of rashguard shirt.

Crash, I have to ask if you are in CA. I can't help but notice how everyone in the pictures at the playground has jackets on. People who have been to CA in the summer tell me that it will be different than here in NC in August but I never imagined anyone needing even a light jacket during the day in July.

AND they say it's 15-20 degrees colder than the seasonal norm this week. Gotta love SF.

Summertime in San Francisco....we can always tell the tourists....they are all wearing shorts with their recently bought SF sweatshirts. :rotfl:
Seriously.
Is it gonna be "cool" in August at DL?
Please say no.... I really don't want to have to try to find warmer clothing and pack it and all hat. please say no, please say no.

If you're booking a rental car at Port Cape Canaveral...... what time do you put as your pick up time?
How close is the rental place at the port?
Do you just like send off one person to get the vehicle and bring it back to you?
ABOUT HOW LONG is the drive to MCO so we'll know when to say we'll be bringing the rental vehicle to MCO? (last time we did limo and totally weren't paying attention to the drive or what time we got in the vehicle. But all I know is it sure didn't seem like a long drive and we sure got to MCO way earlier than we expected...)

is it difficult to drop off the rental vehicle then take your family and luggage to the airport terminals?

I just want to make sure I book this right and that it will work for us. It's cheaper than any other transportation for all of us- but..... just want to ake sure I book it right and that it's not a major PITA to do a rental vehicle vs. some sort of other planned transportation.
?

Wow! DD and I will be the dorks walking around DL with shorts and a DL sweatshirt! We are humid and 83 today.

Laura ....eeyorelvr10...just text me and said the Magic has been stopped for over an hour and had no electricity. She said she just now got phone service. They smell fuel and she is up on deck 4 right now. Anyone know anything?? She is concerned.

I made it to work. Laura text me about 30 minutes ago and said they were moving. The sun was just starting to rise. No word yet on what happened. :confused3 She also said that she hopes you all dont hold it against her.....Laura boards and breaks the Magic!! ..... that came from her mouth not mine! :rotfl:

Will let you know when I hear something more.

Today is her anniversary....great way to start the day.

The Magic is not broken. It's just gone into "hassle free" mode...:rolleyes1

Thank you so much!!! :) I had given up entering codes there because all of them seemed to be expired or didn't apply. This is at Avis BTW. :) I was able to book a minivan for $58!!!! Now I don't have to worry about cramming all of our luggage into a little car & DH getting upset. :) The regular rate is $114 at Avis or up to $141 elsewhere. :cool1: BTW, when I confirmed the reservation it showed up as a total of $114. I called to find out why and the person said that in order to confirm with that coupon code I had to use my CC...which was fine with me. She modified the reservation to show the change. :woohoo:

Thanks for posting this.... it prompted me to check into it too because this is cheaper than any private transportation we could book for all 5 of us!
I went ahead and booked it- minivan also!
Now when you said you confirmed the reservation and it showed the higher price- do you mean as you went thru the confirming process online? Or do you mean when you went back to look at it later?
Just curious because I just went thru it and confirmed and printed it out- and it shows the lower discount rate but never asked me for my CC and kept saying on there that CC isn't required to confirm the reservation. Do I need to call or something to make sure we get this rate?

I hope it's really okay to use this code. After I printed it out it says all this stuff about corporate discount and insurances are pre-determined based upon the corperate contract (:scared1: ) and all that. I wonder what corporation we're all working for and don't know it? LOL

We were at DL in June during that big heat wave. It was sweltering, I think in our last two days in the parks that it was a high of about 98 degrees and the next day when we were in LA it was about 103. If you look at the pic in my signature, it was taken the last day we were there, you can see how red my son was and it almost looks like Mickey is sweating. :rotfl: The next day we went up to visit with friends who live outside of SF after that. We went to the aquarium in Monterrey the next day and when we got there it was in the 50s and I'm not sure if it broke 60 that day. The next day we were doing the touristy thing in SF and the high was about 63. I had remembered to pack one pair of jeans for my DS but all I had were shorts and one light pair of capris. Luckily I had packed up both hoodies, but when we were in Monterrey and SF, my DS was begging me to buy him a heavier sweatshirt. We definitely would have been those tourists you see, lol

question please!
I've about decided we can't book disneyland express for transportation from LAX to Hojo because it stops at 12:30am and if our flights are delayed that night- we might arrive after they closed.
But I can't find anywhere on supershuttle that says what time they run! Do they run all night long so there's no chance of getting there too late if your flight is delayed?

I am having such a difficult time using the Piratezone...sometimes it works...most times not. :confused3

So, my question: Is there a packing list on that board? Or did I see it on this gigantic thread? Hoping someone might have done some of the work for me :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Also, wondering how formal is formal night? Was planning on a little more shopping, but am finding that difficult...husband out with a bum knee...I can only pick up so many extra shifts between now and then, to pick up the slack. Maybe a consignment or a Nordstroms rack?

Lastly, (I think) any banks that do change counting and exchange without rolling? We probably have between 4-5 hundred in change, but don't really have the time to roll it.

Thanks for all the help,
Carol

No...it will not be cool at DL in August--usually 80-90. It might get a little cool at night, but depending on where u are from...most likely won't require a jacket. If it does, just bring what you are bringing on the cruise as far as a light jacket for evening. Hope this helps.

It will be warm here unless we get some wierd weather cold snap

Make sure you don't put www in front of it. I did this a few times at the beginning and couldn't get the website to come up

I ordered Tori's poscards :yay: One more thing off of my list..unfortunately, I bought 20 postcards at DL when we were there last weekend so I am not sure what I will do with those :rotfl2:

we hadn't planned on bringing any jackets for the evenings. Total waste of luggage space for us last time- we never found the evenings (or the dining rooms) cool at all last time. LOL
We do live in Texas but generally it has to get below 50 before we think we're freezing. LOL Hopefully it doesn't get below 50 in the summer at DL!

WEird weather cold snap....... let's hope that doesn't happen. I remember our trip to WDW one November (years ago) and although we packed some warmer clothing the weird weather cold snap happened in the middle of the day while at Epcot. We thought we were gonna freeze to death. LOL (but it was really cold! I swear! It wasn't just us. Ofcourse DH said it was just a bit "chilly" but he's used to Wi/Mi weather and we're not. LOL I can't remember the exact temp but it was freezing like 30's atleast. And we definitely do not "do" 30's in shorts.... not these texans. LOL)

Hi everyone .. My turn to ask for some prayers. My sister had to take my Mom to Emerg early this morning ... Turns out she needs to have her Gall Bladder removed. They are keeping her in and hope to have it removed Wednesday or Thursday. She is on Coumadin (DVT history) and has to be weaned off it first. My younger brother has Down's Syndrome, so he will be coming up to stay with me while Mom is in the Hospital. Kirstyn is at home, so she will be able to stay with him while I am at work. I'll know more about her condition tonight when I go see her. Please keep her in your thoughts. Thanks.

Hey here's a weird question that maybe someone will know.
If you book a bunch of things using a credit card with an expiration date 08/08 (and it asked for that info and you put in that info) but you just got your new card and it expires 8/11...... that won't cause any problems will it? I mean it's the same credit card number, same name on the card- just the expiration date changed.
Oh wait- the security 3 digit number on the back is different too.

When cards expire say 08/08..... does that mean at the END of august or at the beginning it expires? Should I just bring both cards? LOL

thanks

Nope, night time lows in the 60s...and I mean middle of the night time lows. Being from Texas with the heat and humidity, I would have to say you will be fine.
