A month from today our TOAL officially begins... we will be in Disneyland... way cool...........:cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Us too...... Us Too! We can't wait!

I'm about to head out for my interview with Target. If anybody has any good luck to spare, please send some my way!

It seems weird to be interviewing for a job that I won't be licensed to do for another year yet.

GOOD LUCK!!!

Working summer school this week, not goingto be around too much but I wil try to keep up:lmao:

Got the Fish Extender done, got our FE gifts, got some sunscreen, got our DL tickets but thats it! That is right, I have not yet bought any clothing that we might need, no toiletries, no door magnets yet, you guys are really making me start to PANIC! :scared1:

I have this week yet of work and then I am off until the TOAL..........DS is in wrestling camp next week so I hope after Tuesday I can start checking things off my list. Last swim meet is tomorrow so WOOHOO!!! Light at the end of the tunnel

In order to get to list to the printers...just a reminder..if you would like your cabin # posted for verandah hopping on the day of the PC crossing or as an open invite..drop by the site and sign up!

I will be sending in the list tomorrow!

Thanks!

Along the same lines. If you have a travel scale that you and would be willing to allow pirates to use, please post your cabin (or willingness) here http://www.thepiratezone.us/viewtopic.php?f=21&t=266

Can we get an extension from the printer? Everyone is not going to have cabin numbers by tomorrow, but I know items have to be in. I can submit my items with the cabin numbers I have now, but what is the absolute drop dead date to have GTY numbers included?

June....what a fabulous FE! It looks great

Desiree...wonderful pic's! Glad you guys had fun and it all worked out fine!

Mike...good luck with Target

Chery & John...Happy anniversary.

I've been sick all weekend...seemed to have lost my voice (and my mind, but thats nothing new!) Trying to catch up on stuff. I can't believe we are less then 5 weeks out now! I've been trying to pull together all my post its, copy n pastes and notes I've jotted down...to add them to my master list!

I hope everybody has a great Monday!

This is a drive by posting. Literally.... As soon as DH gets back from filling the van, I load the last of the stuff (my clothes - I'm was the last to get packed, of course!) and head off for Crater Lake.

Any one who wants to follow along on our wanderings... I've started a blog - thought I'd give it a try. You can find it at: http://EsterisWanderings.blogspot.com .

Enjoy!!!

ARGH!

NameTags
Update and stuff....

So I took the advice of my pirate friends and adjusted our title to get it bigger (unfortunately due to size enlargement I had to go with a plainer font). I also made the Mickey Silhouette a bit smaller to fit the larger type (I went as small as I could with out compromising the image).

If you have not requested Name Tags yet please PM me with your Disname and real name and the members of your party and how they should be referred to on their tags (they can have just their names too). If you can add favorite characters and your room number that would be great as well!

Not a simple answer.

The "official DCL policy" is like airlines, 2 checked, one carry on and one personal per person. This shows up in a variety of thier printed documents. This isn't enforced though.

From other threads, it looks like they are cracking down on some of the other limitations. For example, their policy is no bottles (alcohol) in luggage:

Recent changes to the shipping to port policy indicated that they would no longer accept cases of water or other beverages as checked luggage, but reports from recent cruises indicate otherwise. (But you still can't ship liquids)

Generally speaking, you will probably be ok getting your stuff in, but if they decide to "enforce the rules" anything may happen. (of course, if they are smart, having dealt with this crew on Canal taxes, etc., they won't enforce it.....)

Also, you will probably only get 2 luggage tags per person in advance, so you will have to get DCL luggage tags at the port.

I may have said this before and apologize to all who catch me on it. On the 2005 EB repo we had a 1/2 case of wine packed in the great boxes you can get at Beverages and More. It was a box that holds six bottles of wine with the styrofoam forms inside for each bottle, so not very big at all, maybe 18in x 24in x 24in. Since we drove to San Pedro I did not have to worry about taking it on the plane and of course, the plan was not to have any leftover! I dropped it and our luggage off with the porter and off we went to check in.

Fortunately, DSs birthday was embarkation day which meant I was waiting for the rope to drop so I could get to our cabin quickly to decorate for the bday. When I got to the room we had a message telling us they had our box back out in the terminal and I would have to go back out, claim it and carry it on by hand.

Now, I have no problem with that at all and this time we will be hand carrying anything extra to avoid this situation. But the point of the story is when I went out to retrieve the box it was around 1:45 and the lady told me if I had waited another hour I would not have been allowed to get off the ship to get it.

Sorry this was long winded, just an FYI for everyone.

has anyone found out what famous people are going to be onboard ? (besides mickey and friends) what the schedule for pirate night, formal night, semi? sorry i dont read every post.

Here's a question- if anyone has been in this situation.
Do you have to show your credit card you used to purchase AA tickets online when you check into the airport/check your luggage/go thru security?

Just curious because I just realized this is the first time we've travelled seperately (Jeff coming later in the week) and I don't remember if we had to show the credit card! I used the same credit card on all our tickets- and I can't use it -then 5 days later have DH use the same card that will be in my possession already in CA! :lmao:

I don't think we have to show the CC do we? Just the print out and driver's license? We don't need to show passports for the flight since we're just flying to CA, right?
(I ask that question because I planned on bringing Jeff's passport with me- knowing him that'd be one of the items he forgot and left at home! Which would be bad...... bad bad bad. LOL )

No harm in calling the airline to check. In the past I've run into cases like this - particularly if the person flying isn't the same person who's card it is.

So because I had time on my hands ...I looked at the entertainers on theWB cruise...googled them and looked at their schedules to see if any where going to be on...some had no schedules and the others hadn't updated!

so...i don't have any info!

No word on the entertainers, but we've had the theme nights for a while now

Got a call from Disney Cruise Line alerting me that one of our booked shore excurisons (Mini Jeep Rhino in Acauplco) has been cancelled by the operator. This is the second such call we've received. The banana boat rides at Castaway Cay have been cancelled as well. While I had a knowledgable DCL staffer on the phone, I asked about the number of formal nights and got a slew of good info that might be worthy of a newsletter entry or post on the On-board Plans section.

Night - Date - dinner dress code
01 - August 17 - cruise casual
02 - August 18 - formal (sea day)
03 - August 19 - cruise casual
04 - August 20 - cruise casual
05 - August 21 - cruise casual
06 - August 22 - Mexican deck party (Acapulco)
07 - August 23 - cruise casual
08 - August 24 - semi-formal (sea day)
09 - August 25 - cruise casual
10 - August 26 - tropical night (Catagena) - might be a good day for the Hawaiian shirt contest.
11 - August 27 - cruise casual
12 - August 28 - cruise casual
13 - August 29 - pirate night (sea day)
14 - August 30 - formal (sea day)
15 - August 31 - cruise casual

The EBPC will be our 8th DCL cruise. When we started in 1999, the dress code was driven by where you were eating (dressier at Lumiere's, much more casual in Parrot Cay). Now that they designate dress code for specific nights, that 'trumps' worrying about which restaurant you'll eat in given your rotation.

Mike is there a huge shortage of pharmacist in PA? Ever since supermarkets started with pharmacies out here there has been a shortage. Some have even paid for kids to go to pharmacy school. Good luck, but I don't think you will need it.

Formal night#1 8/18 1st sea day
Mexican Fiesta Night 8/22
Semi-formal night 8/24
Tropical night 8/26
Pirate night 8/28
Formal night #2 8/29

Big names are too big to mention or that is what DCL is leading us to believe. :lmao:

Patch swap & badge work Q's

What is the number count on this? Have ordered 12 patches, but already know I need more. My final date for ordering is tomorrow - has the deadline for sign ups passed? Want to ensure all participating get a patch (these are the divisional patches for the division Lauren is a Brownie in).

I'm also guessing that most people swapping will also be taking part in the badge work. Have looked at Lauren's badge book & identified elements for her to complete. So, she needs to learn a song from another country. All other elements can be covered by swapping patches, e-mails (which is already happening), taking some photos & completing the kids journal.
