Hi everyone!

Our last night of the trip...we are currently in Fresno CA...going to visit some fruit farms tomorrow...we spent last night in a B&B in Redding. Unfortunately, the CA wildfires are really doing a number and the smoke has been terrible...also..today I pulled off to get some gas to find out that 2 of my tires were in bad shape from some rough roads and had to be replaced immediately...another had a nail in it....took 3 hours and two different locations to get all 4 tires replaced...out light 5 hour drive took us almost 10 with our lunch at 6pm this evening..suffice to say..good thing we had snacks....We were on some really bad mountain roads last night and I feel blessed that we made it okay considering what my tires looked like.

I had asked for your prayers a couple of weeks ago for a friend who was having chemo...thank you so much for your prayers..her biopsies returned with no cancer the spots are something different that she needs treated but not terminal.

I had asked for your prayers a couple of weeks ago for a friend who was having chemo...thank you so much for your prayers..her biopsies returned with no cancer the spots are something different that she needs treated but not terminal.

Hope everyone has had a good week..I never caught up so hopefully nothing urgent came about...

Thank goodness for her and her family and friends. What great news!!!!

That was supposed to be MY house closing party on deck 10 Right up 'til the pesky bank told the buyers that they couldn't possibly have their mortgage with those credit scores Although I haven't given up hope just yet. Our house is back on the market and I've got my fingers crossed that we'll get some traffic and another offer ... this time from some peeps that can actually GET a mortgage Now, with that all being said, I'd be very happy to attend YOUR house closing party on deck 10

Oh! I AM sorry. I hope we'll still be celebrating your closing on deck 10 - with better buyers! We're still waiting on word. It's makin' DH a bit crazy. He hates that waiting bit. We gave them until 5pm tomorrow - but banks keep their own time in this market. We're hoping that the promise of a quick closing will get them moving with some sort of answer.

You should try living in it. UG. They won't let the boys play outside during summer camp and they are certainly coming home ready to bounce off the walls. DH says he feels like he's back in Kuwait in '91. It was like this.

We just went thru your town today! That's about where I had tired issues...actually in Walnut Creek but still...so sorry it is so bad for everyone with the fires..very sad indeed

We're getting a lot of smoke from the fires in Tucson right now. Doesn't make for a very pretty sky. Am praying for rain before any more damage is done. I think that's the worst part about living here....wildfires.

The Equinox will be ready to pick up tomorrow with its new air conditioning. Of course the dealership called with a laundry list of things that "really need to be done immediately"....trying to scare me.
I told the guy thanks for the heads' up and that I'd let my local mechanic know. Heh heh heh. Nice try. Since the a/c is under warranty I guess they want to try to make more money.

I also stopped and ordered replacement glasses for the ones that are somewhere in the ocean in Cabo. Not as painful ($$) as I thought, and I'll be sure to wear those eyeglass holder things on our cruise. Not that that would have helped...but better safe than sorry.
Better yet, I'll stay out of tides and away from rocks.

Grandmom G passed away this morning.

Funeral is on Friday. I promise to wave if we pass Aston area on the way home. (although it is way easier and less traffic to come home by way of Harrisburg)

I don't know which is worse... being at a funeral or having to play nice with my almost non-existant dad...

I went shopping today w/DGkids for clothes for DGS Jack for our Mex Riv cruise this Sunday.

Wow - its only days away - here I am planning for August and YIKES - I'm leaving in a few days!!! (This SUNDAY)

BUT - the best part (did I mention that I HATE shopping???!!) - I found a lovely formal - for this cruise and OURcruise!! My DGD Melissa is awesome - we went to Macy's and she spots this dress and says - Grandma this is You - go try it on - and it was perfect. I have a shopping buddy!!

I mentioned the "Grown-Up Princess Night" - and she's all excited about finding a dress for me - however, I did tell her that I am a Queen not a princess. She agreed - but said that makes the shopping more challenging!
She said I'll need more Bling and more than just any old Tiara!! I'll need a crown - okay I think she was getting carried away!!
It's getting late and I've got to pack & clean the house and - oh and everything!!

P.S. - Is there anything I should be checking out in Cabo? or Puerta Vallarta? I know Stacey was just there - but ??

Thanks for all your concern about my darlingGD Genevieve. Her fever finally came down but she is still very weak. Still no appetite but I think on the road to recovery. I think I am not eating at all while in Mexico!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the list. I'm always afraid that I'm going to forget something, and it's going to be the one thing I end up needing. I was wondering if I should bring some Airborne. Has anyone ever used it? Does it work?

As Dan said later, there has been a class action suit settled against them for making certain claims . . . but they are basically vitamin/herbal supplements and are probably fine if you want to try them . . .

I am actually truthfully honestly bringing my own toilet paper for 14 days. Really.

You would have fit right in on our Med cruise last July! So many people were bringing their own TP, and travel TP for excursions, that it became quite a running joke on that thread . . .

How are the Macbooks?

(i am a mac girl) My mom wants to get a lap top and I want her to get one (because I can help trouble shoot if anything happens) but they are more expensive than the PC....
