Okay, I have 8:15 for the CP booked. Everyone says to do it early for pics and stuff. But I am worried about getting there. Just how early will I need to leave the POP to make this ADR?

We will be on day 3 of our trip and I worry that we could be tired and I could see some rebellion in the ranks.

I can also do CP at 10:05. My thinking is if we get there for rope drop, we could maybe do a quick ride or grab a FP for later before breakfast. If we don't make rope drop, we can go straight to breakfast and worst case scenario, if it's crowded, we can use a GAD FP.

Seeing this is my 1st time, I don't even know what is near the CP to do. :confused3

I've never done it from POP so i can't tell you that for certain- but it does take awhile and the monorail is running very few and far between in the morning. I'll say when we stay at the Poly, we usually leave by 7:15 to give ourselves plenty of time to get over there. Sometimes we have tons of extra time, and sometimes we are skipping down main street to get there on time. If you think you might have some difficulty getting there that early- the idea of being there for rope drop might be the right thing as nice as it is to be there early.

When we are going to MK area for breakfast from Pop I always allow about an hour for our travel from the hotel to the park. While it doesn't take a hour I feel with the little ones it makes me a bit more relaxed to allow extra time so I don't feel rushed. It generally took about 25-30 mins. travel time from Pop to MK once the bus was loaded.

If you have to leave at 7:15 from the Poly, I am much sure it will be much earlier from the POP. There is no freaking way I am going to be able to get my family out that early. I could drive but would rather not. I think I may drop the early ADR and do 10:05 instead.

There aren't actually any rides all that close to the Crystal Palace, since it's just off Main Street near the hub. But with the later breakfast reservation, you could certainly get to Magic Kingdom at rope drop & head to Fantasyland right away (down Main Street, through or around the castle & you're there) You'd be able to ride at least a couple of Fantasyland rides like probably Dumbo, Snow White & maybe even Winnie the Pooh, too right away after rope drop, and then grab a fastpass for Peter Pan. By then you'd need to be heading back around or through the castle to go back to Crystal Palace for a 10:05 breakfast. Or if kids are older & "beyond" Fantasyland, then at ropedrop, you could high-tail it over to get a Splash fastpass, ride Big Thunder, and then head back to Crystal Palace for your breakfast at 10:05. One problem with filling up on a big breakfast before doing the park is...how's your tummies with amusement park rides on a full stomach? We don't do big breakfasts unless we're going for a very leisurely, non-wild rild experience that day. Just a thought.

Thanks!! I think I will do just that. I think I need to get some maps and start looking over them. I have no idea how the rides in the parks are laid out. I don't want to be "that" person wasting valuable time looking at maps all day!

The closest rides are in Futureland & the closest ride to the restaturant is 'Stitches Great escape'.This is just across from the Main St Bakery.
The People mover is always a good ride which rarely has any queues & would only be a short walk back if you only have about 30 mins or so & need to be back for the ADR.

We were just at Pop earlier this month and had several early morning adrs. We arrived at the bus stop about an hour before our adrs and arrived at each destination early. The bus system at Pop is the best at any WDW resort we've ever stayed at!

We stay at POP and do an early CP breakfast every trip. My advice would be to be at the bus stop at 7:00 am. The character breakfast busses are great but they are not as frequent as the busses during regular park hours. So if one leaves at 7:10 and you aren't there, you might have to wait until 7:30-7:40 for the next one.

In that case....10:05 it is. There is no way my family will be up, dressed and at a bus stop that early. There would be anarchy at the POP that morning.

That's ok - 10:05 is a great time too. I'd do as a PP suggested and head to either Fantasyland or Frontierland and get a couple of rides in before your ADR. Don't forget to pick up a FP for after breakfast. The best part is you won't have to stop for lunch - just grab a snack (or 2 ;)) throughout the day and keep going!

I think that's a good plan. No reason to force your family awake that early unless everybody is committed to the early breakfast. I see your children at pretty young, so I suggest, like others have said, heading to Fantasyland for an hour before your meal. After a few rides, you'll work up an appetite for a nice big breakfast at Crystal Palace!

Have fun!

:confused3 Very confused here...what are you saying is right across from Stitches Great Escape? NOT the Main Street Bakery. The Main Street Bakery is actually on Main Street; neither Crystal Palace nor Stitch is "right across the street" from the Bakery.

Anyone leaving from the Poly at 7:15 to make a 8:15 reservation is just a tad over anxious. We are talking about a 15 minute trip tops.

Still, 8:15 is a bit early to get there from the Pop.

We had an 8:05 at CP and it was great. Keep your 8:15, you'll be glad you did. We had a 10:30 at CP later in the week and the wait has not good. You should leave at 7:15 from POP to get there. They will check your name on a list and let you walk in. It is great to walk Main Street when almost no one is there, you can get any picture you want. You'll finish around 9 am and then you can stroll right over to Dumbo and be one of the first in line.

by the time we leave our room and walk to either TTC or the monorail, depending on which building you are at and wait for the character meal monorail it can take about 40 minutes to do what normally should be a 15 minute trip. If you miss the monorail or ferry another one doesn't come along for quite some time early in the morning.

We've done early ADR's each year, and have stayed at Pop and the All-Stars and we've always left right at an hr. before our adr and ALWAYS have extra time to take pics ect.

I don't know how the monorails work in the morning, but it doesn't matter in your case. You won't be using the monorail at all, and we've never had a problem getting there in plenty of time by using the buses.

I too am staying at the pop and have an 8:10 ADR at CP. What time is the first bus from the resorts to head over to MK?

:) Buses start about 0700. I bought a Passporter Guide for my first trip and loved it. If it is your first trip, you will be tired. No one realizes how big WDW is until they 'do' it. I would pick 10:15 on day 3 and like the others have said get a FP or ride in before breakfast. When leaving from Pop plan for an hour lead time. The ride is a good 15 minutes, 5 minute or less walk to the gate from bus drop off. Then CP is at the end of Main Street, so another 5 min, to get there. It will take a good 30 min to get there from Pop.

Get a guide and have an idea of the layout of the land...you will be glad you have a mental image when you get there.

Have a terrific time and tell Pooh and friends I said "Hi"! :flower3:
