8/15/09-Eastern-Tortola Treasure Seekers #5

YEAH!!!!!!! Lots to do before we leave. Time to pack and get everything ready to go!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1::banana::banana::banana:

We will be at the Radisson Fri night, but won't arrive til evening though!

We will be over in Cocco Beach at the four points, we stayed at the Radisson last time, but being able to stay on points this time won out :cool1:

Doing ok, We had over a year to plan for this. While its still a little unreal its more of a relief than painfull.

It's a little harder on my other brother as he was closer in age, but even for his faimly its a relief that its over.

ALS has that effect on families and this is the second time we have been thu this, as our Mom also passed away from ALS back in the early 80's

Please, know I am thinking about you and your family!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:grouphug::grouphug:

Hi Everyone - it's Ben, Jenny, and DD6 Lily -

Just to make anyone in the same position feel better, we haven't started on our FE gifts yet (it will take all of about 3-4 hours, I think), have started to put some things in the spare bedroom to pack (but no suitcases yet), and have yet to type up the itinerary and important numbers for the family to have in case of emergencies.

Convinced that we will be going this year with only one suitcase and one carry on for each of us (maybe less if we are careful), we're not taking much with us at all in the way of extra items. It's all about the ease of travel for us this year.

IS THERE ANYONE STAYING AT THE DOUBLETREE ON FRIDAY NIGHT? This is our fourth year there because of the rate and the ocean access. Since we have a car, it's easy to get there and to our traditional errands we do on the day before, etc.

Let us know! See y'all later.

Ben

Thanks Ben, I feel better!

DH has already left for baseball tournament with baseball son; I'll head over there later (it's an hour or so away). He's had a fun week of baseball at a "training" camp for his future high school (even tho a few years away) and now this tourney, so we're all in great spirits!:cloud9:

Nonetheless...I have to face that packing soon!

Did I mention I was able to get reservations for 8 of us at Raglan Road(?) - the Irish restaurant at Downtown Disney - for next Friday before our inlaws' special "Fireworks Cruise" at WDW. Phew! I'm excited that it all came together!:woohoo:

Have a wonderful weekend, everyone! And to those already in FL - have a great vacation!:cool1:

...MUST....STOP....MAKING....DOOR....SIGNS!
I have enough for 3 more cruises, I think!

I really need to decide on a design for our family shirts - I can see me trying to put these together next Friday night at midnight!:rolleyes1

I've narrowed it down to 3 (or 4 or 6 or 10) designs. The shirts are yellow.

Does anyone have the Tortola Treasure Seekers design without wording on it? I'd be most grateful!!!:worship::hug::cloud9:

Hi,

I don't know why I am just thinking of this now, but I need some advice for killing time on our last day.

Our flight isn't until 3:00 p.m. on the 22nd. We have Disney transportation and doing the airline check in so we will already have our boarding passes and no major luggage.:cool1:

We where thinking about just getting a day room at the Hyatt ($89.00), but then I thought maybe taking a cab or renting a car from the airport todo Downtown Disney or somthing similar. We don't have a ton of time since I would still like to be back at the airport about 1:30. So my questions are should we just play it safe and get the day room? Should we rent a car for a few hours (I am thinking though as this would be cheaper it would be more time consuming)? Should we take a cab and if so where to?

Thanks for all your help in advance.

Thats what I call annoying time, I often have had a day at MCO to kill last day if the vacation, get to MCO at 8.45am flight 5pm.

We have booked the Hyatt on thoose days, so we can use the rooftop pool, rest, do check in and lunch, go around the shops back and forth,

I saw lots of DCL cruisers last time doing the same.

DTD is a little way away, its doable, but you do not have a lot of time, with your flight, maybe florida mall shopping is an option, This time on the 22nd I have a villa from about 2pm or 4pm, so we are going to kill time at seaworld, which is included with our Discovery Cove booking on the 23rd.
