Morning all.

Kristen I am sorry to hear Hanna has been unwell. Sending lots of get well soon thoughts your way.

Andrew, I am loving the questions - they keep me firmly cruise focused instead of thinking about the housework I need to do! LOL

What is your favourite item from Room service?

Mickey Bars, Fruit Plates, Cheese Platter (DH)

What pool do you like to hang out at?

We didn't go in any of the pools on our 3 night. This time we are going to head straight to the pool when we get there and let the girls play (Olivia in the splash zone Izzy in the pool) DH and I are hoping to get chance to visit Quiet Cove Pool one lunch time when the girls are in the club \ nursery.

Do you order any stateroom gifts on arrival, or celebrations?

No. If I could order JUST the chocolate strawberries I would but I don't want all the stuff that comes with them. If there was an advantage to ordering a photo package as a gift I would but as there isn't we will just order it when we are onboard.

If you are guarantee status, have you herd anything yet? its often 35 days out, but seen some early ones recently.

Booked a SPH room so no GTY waiting for us

Whose going to get their tickets first? USA/Brits? what state?

Last time we had to have ours sent to the villa company as we would have left before they arrived - I guess we will call and have ours sent to OKW for us as we leave home 7 nights before the cruise and I don't want to chance slow international mail.

What is the one thing you what to do that you have never done before on the cruise?

DH and I are booked for an Exotic Rasul which we have never done. Also we plan on making full use of the eating facilities and visiting the pool at least once!

Great answers, on the photo package as a gift I have thought of this, I have pre paid the Wine package and tips before the cruise and OBC to cover trips and Palo, but left this out. Reason is whatever package I buy I end up with the wrong size photos, so have to swap it around, I know there is a mixed package, But I think I will wait to see what photos are taken, what size they are, and if we like them, then buy a package. I read that in a Cat 3, they bring them to you now, and if you do not return them there is an automatic charge, so will watch for that.

I know my WDW Hotel bit is 'will call' as they do not send internationally, the WDW Tickets are Virgin H, and we will add there, DCL are told to send out tickets early as we are in the UK.

Hi Kristen, Hope Hanna is feeling better today.:)

Me and DH dropped DD off at over night camp yesterday:sad: I know it is a great experience for her, but boy do I miss her. It is so hard to know how she is doing, I just hope she is having a lot of fun.

Maybe now I can start thinkign about the cruise:banana:.

To answer some of the questions that have been floating around:

We usually have breakfast at topsiders. We are early risers (dh a bit earlier then us though) and like to eat outside, then we try to hang out a bit at Goofy's pool in the morning when it is not crowded.

For lunch it is again, usually topsiders because we are all usually on the go and a lot of times doing on own thing. DH and DD have been known to go to Pluto's for a quick bite and I have had some fruit from Goofy's galley.

For dinner we stay on our rotation. DH and I do palo for brunch on the second day at see, but have not done dinner.

We have never done room service (just always forget), but I would really like to get the cookies from room service:banana:

I must say I agree that Topsiders is my default place, for breakfast and lunch, when you are at the pools, or as we have staterooms on deck 8 its so easy to get to. Thats why I think we make a point of Lumieries on port days,

Topsiders is out meeting point, so if we split up, the kids will know where to meet us at set times.

I am an early riser, sometimes first in at Topsiders, getting a ''run' of food say toast for the rest.

What is your favourite item from Room service?

For us this has to be the Mickey bars. The big cookies and some milk are great as well.

What pool do you like to hang out at?

We also did not really use the pool much on our 4 night cruise. Right when we got on board the kids used the Mickey pool and then they used the family pool once or twice as well. This cruise I am hoping to find some adult time and use the quiet cove pool.

Do you order any stateroom gifts on arrival, or celebrations?

Nope. There are a couple that look good but we will not be ordering anything this time around.

If you are guarantee status, have you heard anything yet? its often 35 days out, but seen some early ones recently.

I have a GTY stateroom...haven't heard anything yet. I am hoping that we hear soon and have been checking daily to see if we have a room number.

Whose going to get their tickets first? USA/Brits? what state?

Who knows? Hard to say...I would think they should send out tickets to anyone overseas first since it takes longer to get them.

What is the one thing you what to do that you have never done before on the cruise?

There are many things we want to do this time...Palo brunch, the excursions, spend time in the adult pool and go to some of the art of entertaining sessions.

Great answers, thank you, hope you get the GTY assignment soon, often the peak of assignments is 35 days> 30 days, when there is a flood of them, but people have reported earlier assignments recently. I feel the longer you wait the slightly higher percentage chance of an upgrade, as DCL hope people will pay of an upgrade rather risk it at the port.

On Palo the last two cruises we have had brunch in the private room, whilst thats excellent and with nice company, as we talk a lot time flys and you miss out, last time it was past 1pm before we knew it and hadn't attacked the desserts so I am looking forward to it just being the two of us.

Art of entertaining is possible I will think about that on embarkation with concierge.

Room celebrations things for the kids or booze is nice, but food theres so much of it, you can order from RS at 1.30pm, so no point in getting any food in advance and paying for it, Shirley's baskets however from the perfect gift have always been great, my kids are getting a bit old for that.

Hello everyone...

Sorry, I was not around much today. Spent the day at the Children's Hopsital......with Hanna.........

Took her to the dr. on Friday.....Had a fever of 104.0 and an UTI infection but the meds. were making her get sick to her stomach so the dr. sent us up to Children's to get her meds to make her stop getting sick and to have some stronger antibotics in her. They were afraid it was going into her kidney's but she is doing better now. If the fever is still here tomorrow they want us to call them back and they will start her on a course of shots, and IV's!!!!!!

Hope everyone is having a GREAT DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Questions...as for Food

Every morning I went up to the Adults pool and grabed a great coffee from the bar and enjoyed the morning in a deck chair with a good book...then I would go wake up the family and we would usually grab a bite in Luminere's.

Elin loved Pluto's dog house, and the ice cream bar.

We always had dinner in the dining room, and our rule was Elin had to have dinner with us although she rarely stayed for desert..there was always something going on in the clubs.

We went to Palo's one night, of course it was the only night we had really rough seas (hurricane) and the only night I had a bit of sea sickness...I am hoping for a more enjoyable time this trip.

We never made any of the light night dining so this time we are going to try and at least do one.

Have a great Sunday everyone!:cool2:

Is anyone else planning on doing the Art of Entertaining? On my spreadsheet timetable (LOL sad I know) I have factored in going to all three courses of the cooking sections. DH would not be that interested and also someone needs to look after Olivia (which I will do for him when he goes to beer tasting!) so I will probably be going on my own. Wave and say hello if you see an English 30 something all alone and drooling uncontrollably over the food!

Also, after i reread the questions about stateroom gifts I wondered whether I might be tempted by any... Does anyone have any recommendations or care to share what they would choose if they were booking one?!

Kids gifts -yes. Have used 'The Perfect gift when kids were younger and Shirley is very very good, I have also purchased DCL Bags, water bottles, Visors, etc, but dropping it now.

PS

I have an excel spreadsheet for all ADR's pre post cruise with reference numbers, times etc, and also DCL shore trips and Palo, so not sad, organised!!!

We will have to watch for one another at the Art of Entertaining series...I plan on doing as many as I can! And Mel...you are more than welcome to sit with us if you want...Laura & Marco are welcome to sit with us too! Actually, anyone who is there, find a spot at our table or near our table and we can all enjoy the sessions together!

Palo:
I am a creature of habit. Once I find something I enjoy it's hard for me to try something new. We usually each order 1 appetizer like tomato and mozzarella for me and calamari for him. Last time my parents were with us so we split 2 pizzas as appetizers too. Then we move on to a salad, then the entree. I love their risotto. Jim usually goes for the Filet or a fish dish, depending what their fish of the day is. Of course I have to have the souffle, he sticks with Gelato because he's not much into sweets. I will warn you, our last dinner was 3 hours!!!!!!!!! It was too long. The best part is that they will bring you things to try. I don't know how they do it, but at brunch one time we never placed our order but our server brought us both what we were planning to order. Maybe they go by your reaction as they are showing you items or telling you about them. I did have them skip the bread, as much as I love bread I wanted to save room for the really good stuff. I think they also start with a small antipasto plate too if I recall correctly. You can order as little or as much as you want so go for it!

Gina - Thanks for your response about Palo! I am glad that you shared what you ordered. Last time when we were there, I seriously had no clue what was appetizers, how much you were supposed to order or how to really order it. I was thankful our server suggested really great things but now knowing a bit more, I would have ordered a bit more.

I would love to hear what others order when they are there for dinner! Please share!

Hi Mel
Both Sean and I are planning to go to the Art of Entertaining - he said that since the Food Network has debuted during the "off" season (think Football and the US series "24"), he's hooked! LOL. )Of course, his favorite is called something like Diners and Dives, featuring things like a 4 lb hamburger...!!! :rotfl2:) We'll be the 40something couple drooling and trying not to snatch the drips off the plate.....
