Hi everyone! I hope everyone is doing well.

I have a question on Palo reservations. I need to make a reservation for a group of 7. I would like to do this online and I am the only Castaway Club member in my group. This means I would have to make 1 reservation for 4 and a second for the same night for 3 and then have Palo's link them to one reservation once we get on board correct? My question is, will I be able to make the 2 reservations online? Or does it limit me to 1? Would it let me make one and my husband make the other? What are my options? Any help or advice you can give is greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

Jennifer

As I understand if your reservation is linked it only needs one person to be a Castaway club member for all to get the booking at 90 days.

Note Lisa on the main forum says DCL closed this loophole recently worth checking with DCL/TA

Max size of normal tables in Palo is 4, but you can book 2 x 4, if you have the adults, private room is booked by contacting DCL direct the Palo hassle free specialist and they allocate on a first come basis, table size there 12>14 only and you cant have another reservation.

More including a photo of private room on:-

Hi Jen,

Some answers for you - i was sure someone would have beaten me to it but the really knowledgeable ones must be busy today! I should be making my WDW ADRs but I can't face trying to do that with both girls here and in highly excitable mode after having friends for lunch so will wait till later when they are in bed!

1. I see there is a Captain's Welcome Reception...does anyone go? Is it worth it? Do they serve drinks? Do you have to buy the drinks?

Not sure...
Drinks non alcoholic and alcoholic are served in the atrium before your dinner and you can meet the captain and yes its free!

2. If you want to go to an activity...say the beer tasting...do you need to make reservations? How do you know if you need to make reservations for things or if you just show up? How do you know if it costs extra?

Go to guest services to book and there is a charge for drink etc

You can go to Guest Services and ask about bookable activities including tastings, tours and tea with Wendy. They will let you know which are extra.

3. Anyone know what the cost is for the spa pass that gives you access to the rainforest room (is that what is is called - the place with all the showers and benches)? We enjoyed this last time (had the REAS package) but am debating it for this time.

I *think* it is $15 a day or a week pass at a discount which was $75 but I may be wrong here, that just rings bells from another thread.

Not sure.. $15 seems about right

4. Besides Palo, what do you recommend doing for lunches on the days we are at sea? Do you just eat casually from like Pluto's? Do you go to one of the restaurants? How do you know what they are serving for lunches?

I do Topsders most as its a different buffet each day, but also Lumière's at lunch is a very nice sit down alternative.

DH and I intend to book Olivia into the nursery one a couple of the sea day lunch times say from around 11am til 1pm and take Izzy to the club and use the time to have a lunch date in the restaurants and maybe have chance to enjoy the adult pool together. I think the lunch menus are displayed outside the restaurants.

Yes lunch meals are posted outside Lumière's, topsiders theme is in the Navigator.

Okay, even though I've done this 3x before!!! Why am I drawing a blank???:confused3

Here's my question (just looking for reassurances!): Even if my reservation is booked with a TA, as long as I am paid in full, I can go online and book my Palo's, excursions, etc. this Saturday night at Midnight - right?:confused3:eek::rolleyes1

In other words, I don't need my TA to do it for me, right?!!:upsidedow

TIA!

$359 Sailings up to 10 nights

2009 all year is now on sale. Book direct with DCL or your TA.

The REAS package includes:
• Romantic gift amenity delivered to your stateroom (one per package, usually includes two one-size-fits-most robes, a bottle of champagne and chocolates)
• Bottle of wine from the Premium Wine List (one night)
• Tropical Rain Forest pass for two at the Vista Spa & Salon (length of cruise)
• Priority seating at Palo (one dinner or brunch - package covers the usual nominal per-person fee)
• Romance turndown service (one night)
• Champagne breakfast in bed (one morning - this is a full breakfast, from a more extensive menu than the standard continental breakfast room service)
The retail value of the stateroom gift is $90 The bottle of wine is worth $25-$50. A Tropical Rain Forest pass costs $15 a day or $75 for a 7-day pass (per person), and the Palo fees for dinner normally total $30. There is some additional value in the upgraded room service breakfast and being pampered with the romance turndown service. Plus, you have the luxury of pre-booking everything early.* It's hard to put a dollar value on the REAS add-on.
*An unadvertised aspect of the Romantic Escape at Sea add-on is that you get to pre-book your Palo reservation(s), shore excursions and any spa services 105 days in advance of your cruise (the same time frame as passengers staying in suites!), as long as you've paid for your cruise in full. Only the cost of one dinner at Palo is included in the package. The fees for additional Palo reservations, shore excursions and spa appointments aren't included in the package, but you can still book them 105 days in advance if you've purchased this add-on.

Hi everyone, I know it has been a while since I have been on here. With the 90 day window quickly approaching I just wanted to stop in and say hi. We had Carol make our final payment, & we are ready to go! I was wondering if anyone else has a teen that is interested in doing the screamin eagle excursion for teens in St. Thomas? Timmy is wanting to do this, but I would feel better if he had a buddy to do it with. We are looking into going to the baths in Tortola and our younger one wants to do the butterfly farm in St. Thomas. From there we will be hanging out at the beach with Kristin and her family! I would love to har what everyone has planned. I am so excited! The cruise will be here before you know it!!!!!

Hello Heather nice to see you post, Sounds like a plan, My DD is 13, but wouldnt do the screamin eagle as she gets seasick, we are doing the Baths at Tortola, and also the Butterfly and mountain views at St T.

Hi Princessh,
How old is Timmy? I mentioned this excursion the other day to my 16 year old; I know he'd like it. However, we are officially signing up to do the Doubloon Snorkel as a family in St. Thomas; I figured if Josh had kids he wanted to do the Eagle with once on the cruise, I could switch it out at Guest Services.

We are also doing the Baths at Tortola; we are "doing it on our own" - taking the water taxi/shuttle and spending a few hours at the beach there.

Getting psyched!:woohoo:

Got my pre cruise ADR's for WDW all booked today :) when staying at Contemporary.

I booked mine this evening for our 5 days pre cruise at OKW. As we have free dining we are doing only on site dining then and will do mostly offsite in the five days we have in a villa after the cruise. DH wants to try Texas De Brazil!

I said the same thing to Kevin (14 yo). We're also planning on doing the Dubloon Sail & Snorkel as a family. I was planning to give him the option to switch out if he had friends who wanted to do the teen boat ride. He is also interested in the "wild side" on Castaway Cay. Any of the other teens interested in that??

PoohJen, we'll see alot of each other - we're planning to do the Baths on our own too....

I made my ADRs for WDW today!!! :cool1: We were able to get all but one - no luck at 'Ohanas; they were booked for dinner every night we were there (well, we could have gotten a 9:55 reservation - if I wanted to sleep through dinner!! LOL) We're going to be at Boma's for Sean's "actual" birthday. We've never been there before and it looks like a great place.
Oops - a little off topic there.

BtW, is anyone else interested in running the Castaway Cay 5K? I'd like to - provided it isn't too hot. I'm not a competitive runner - I just think that by that point I'll be desperate to work off some of those yummy desserts...!! :scared1:

We're still waiting for a cabin assignment...

We LOVE Boma! We always go there for dinner when we visit the World. We have gone for breakfast too and loved it!

DH is thinking about the 5K, but I only run if I am being chased...and even then maybe not! :lmao:

We're still awaiting a cabin assignment too! We are excited to find out if we like having a verandah or not. Surely we will! :thumbsup2

Can't wait until Saturday at midnight! :dance3:

Us either.....

How is everyone?????

Hey Kristen! How are you doing? It is good to see you posting again tonight! Things around here are starting to get a bit busier since we are so close to the 90 day mark...I am excited to try to book Palo!

I have been really busy as we are approaching the end of the school year. Only a couple more weeks and then I will be able to dedicate more time to doing what I love best...planning this trip! :rotfl:

Actually, I am going to be tutoring a bunch of kids this summer so I have to figure out that schedule. I will tutor from June to the date we leave so that I can save up as much as possible for our trip! I might also find another job if possible...we will see.

Hope to hear more from you soon!
Jen

Jude - how does the 5K work? I've not heard of that on Castaway Cay until recently.
I'm not a runner, but with the proper incentive (and instruction!) I could get in good enough shape by then (or rather, maybe this is the incentive I need?!!!). :rolleyes1 :cheer2:

Josh has done the Teen Wild Side at CC before and enjoyed it well enough, but isn't doing it this time.

This is his third cruise - our first was 5 years ago. It's neat thinking back on all the different experiences he's enjoyed with Disney (and on DCL), even as he's gotten older. :lovestruc Our computer mouse pad is one that he made back in the Oceanear's Lab 5 years ago! LOL!

Jude - Happy to hear you got your ADRs that you wanted! That is always such a major part of our planning. This time we are trying the QSD so I do not have to make any ADRs. I am hoping that we like the flexibility of the new plan.

I would so love to say that I would run with you...I keep thinking about it...then I have to be honest with myself and say...I don't run! :rotfl: I am horrible at it, I hate it and I could not imagine trying 5K! Maybe a walk around one of the decks one night?! ;)

Have a good one!
Jen
