Yes, we don't arrive at POP til the morning of the 10th - as early as we can get there!! We're driving down to FL on the 6th and staying at my parents' place on Daytona Beach on the 7th, 8th, 9th and driving over to WDW on the 10th. We'll leave as early as I can drag everyone out of bed!! That's the plan anyway..
We're looking forward to staying at the POP. We've never stayed there before either. The kids are very excited looking at the pictures online - and Sean and I are, too. It looks like a fun place to stay. Prior to this, we've typically stayed at SOG - which is beautiful and has huge rooms but doesn't have the same Disney feel sometimes. And it is very, very quiet. Somehow, I don't think "quiet" will describe the POP! I stayed at the POLY when I was a kid with my parents - back in '73...Gulp. Back then there was only 1 park to visit and we still stayed a week. My parents took us out of school for the trip but that's not an option for us since Sean is a teacher and it's less acceptable now to do that. Or wise for us - the older they get, the more they miss. So we've been doing summer trips to WDW and braving the heat.

OMG. It was like we won the lottery. I checked the current prices on the DCL site (granted, we booked when they were ALOT less!) and we could book two rooms for the price of the one we have!! Seriously, it's a great thing for DCL/WDW to do and we all appreciate it so much. Several of my friends just returned from Afghanistan and they are looking into booking too.



BTW, does anyone know at what point those of us in a GTY stateroom will be assigned a room number ?? Type A personality here - just have to know as soon as I can. LOL.

Beautiful day in upstate NY too but I have a paper due and it's killing me to look outside and see how nice it is out...Gotta get back to it. Groan.

The peak of GTY assignments has drifted a bit but seems to settle around 30 day mark, I know we had a lot of 35 day assisgnments on the repos in 2008, so look out from then

For this year my pre cruise stay is back to the Contemporary, I have my shortest stay ever at WDW just three nights so the Contemporary with its walk to MK, and Chef Mickeys and the monorails stood out.

Additionally I want to see the new tower and the changes on the restaurant floor with the expanded CM's.

I stayed in the Contemporary a few times, but swapped to the Polynesian for a couple of years, as thats a very nice monorail resort as well.

Post Cruise we have 10 nights in a villa just outside WDW at Formosa Gardens, I have 21 night tickets, so we can use those pre and post cruise and I intend to do the other WDW parks (non MK) post cruise as they are easy to access from outside WDW.

We also have Discovery cove booked on the Sunday post cruise so that will include Seaworls for 7 nights after.

As far as I know ... not before the cruise is paid in full ... we have a GTY as well

Hi Everone! Been awhile since I have posted..Jen Thanks for the website info...I have been on there checking it out and I think my daughter and yours should get along well. Mine dances 6-7 days a week also! The dress your daughter is wearing in the pic on formal night is the same dress dd wore last year on our cruise on formal night! Looks like they like the same things! I will have to show her and see if she would like to get together via email or something...she lives online anyway when she isnt dancing!

Hope everyone is good...Here I go again wishing my summer away for another trip! I am going to have to start booking these earlier in the year! or better yet a couple times a year would work!

1. Added all the information for notbernie - 12 people cruising together...what a great time!
2. Updated our lanyard total (we are at 42+). We need 100 to order.

CURIOUS to know if you will be allowed to leave your luggage / stuff in your cabin ... at the end of your first cruise ? Any idea ??
I'm sure you all will have a blast with that B2B experience !!!!

I am led to believe that as long as we have the same cabin for each cruise, we can keep everything in our cabin. I was told we have to get off to pass through customs, then back on again. I wouldn't mind getting off the ship and going to the Super Walmart to shop.

I am celebrating the fact that I only had to work a 1/2 day! Today DD had an appointment to get fitted for her first pair of pointe shoes and it was a very special day for her! I am now going to celebrate St. Patrick's Day while sewing the ribbons on them for her!

I am making risotto and lemon chicken (not very Irish) but it still makes a special meal!

Have you ever done this before on Disney? Just wondering how they do it. Do we leave on the last day and come back on with everyone else? Or are we the last ones off and first ones back?

I would like to do a Walmart run if we are able to in between the cruises.

no we haven't but we have heard we are last ones off and first on but you are not let out of the terminal. can leave bags in room if the cabin is the same on both cruises
