Ok all you seasoned Disney Cruisers -
Help out a newbie (this is our 4th on the Magic) -
UPGRADES AT THE PORT - So, what are the proper logistics and verbiage to get an upgrade cheaply at the port? Now that our room has been assigned, (no upgrade

) I want to take the 525 Disney reward points and surprise the family... (I realise it will cost more, but it's a good start).
I understand they are in cash even if you use DVC for the cruise, after checking in you have to get to the supervisors desk, and ask them for a paid upgrade, I think you will be seen, take care that some of the posts on the main forum can be exaggerated.
Can someone suggest a tactic where I can sneak away and do this undetected? I could do it while the wife checks in our DD6 into the kids club, so maybe I could do it then... any suggestions and secret schemes would be appreciated.
I think you will be seen going to that desk as you will have to do it promptly
And, if we are able to get a veranda room, has anyone tried to get a certain steward? We had Garry from the Philippines our first cruise, and he's always remembered us on every cruise since even though he's not been our steward (I'm not sure that's a good thing

).
Sorry no, its the luck of the draw, they have 'sectors' assigned IE a group of rooms to look after and they swap these around, my hosts have been on deck 8, and on the next cruise deck 7 etc.
SHIPBOARD CREDITS - We got our $200 credit when we signed up last year, but I see the ads for the $900 credit, and it leaves me wanting.... any way to cajole the CM's into parting with some of those credits?
Sorry No again, you get the deal at purchase time only, those offers you see are for new bookings only
Ben, Jenny and Lily (DD6) from Wisconsin
Staying at the Doubletree Oceanside on Friday night (anyone else)
Assigned to 7507, but want to surprise with an upgrade
P.S. - Putting out a call to anyone who wants to meet up the night before we part with kid(s) in tow that are Lily's age (6) so they can have fun on the ship together?
