my family and I are staying at POP Century from the 8th till the 14th. we are also staying at the Carribean Beach from the 2nd till the 8th then switching hotels on the 8th.

We (and the Goofyhills) will be staying at the Pop prior to the cruise. I am really excited about our res for dinner at Cinderella's Castle! We had a great time at the World with the Goofyhills 3 years ago! The kids are much taller now and are excited about riding new rides!

We would like to get to port by 10am but between me and 4 kiddos- well....

We are staying at the Caribbean when we return- Pirate themed rooms! pirate: :thumbsup2

No room assignment yet for the Goofyhills- tho tomorrow is my sister's birthday so maybe tomorrow. :wizard:

Have a great night everyone! :goodvibes

:thumbsup2Hello Everyone,,,

The last two days have been exhausting here. The kids and three of their friends are taking private swim lessons in our pool. Yesterday, everyone stayed here after our 11:00 swim lessons till 4:45 swimming. Which, meant lunch, snacks, etc......I felt like I never stopped running around... It was FUN and we swam a ton. Today, was more swim lessons, and then we all took the kids to the book store......Fun, days but busy.......I need a vacation!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyone get their docs. yet??!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumbsup2

Kristin - Sounds like it has been busy at your house!!! You need a vacation! :lmao:

Tomorrow will be busy for us - tutoring, dance, getting ready to go to the lake for the weekend, etc.

Ben is still running a fever each night and we still do not have a clue as to why but he seems fine during the day so we will go enjoy the lake!

No documents here yet...although each time I hear the UPS truck in the neighborhood I run to check! :goodvibes

Hey Andee!

Sounds like you have a great vacation planned! We will be at SSR and the Poly before the cruise but have to go home right after to start getting ready for school.

Here is to hoping that your sister gets a birthday gift from Disney...a room assignment with an upgrade! :thumbsup2

Its coming v soon, do you have one for your other cruise

Yes, we have a cabin assignment for our 8/8 cruise. We were one of the AAA folks who got a category 4 cabin for the price of a category 11. We had a cabin assignment from the beginning. By the time we realized we could get the deal on this cruise too, AAA was only offering a GTY verandah that would fit your party size for the price of an 11. So we have a GTY 7 and are curious what we'll get. Not really concerned. We'd be happy with any verandah. I still can't believe we were able to get those deals....for our 8/8 cruise we are in 8572 and 8574...I'm not expecting the same cabins...but if I could choose, I'd want the same cabins for the 2nd cruise. I'd like to propose to DCL that we would be happy to downgrade from a Cat 4 on the first cruise and at least a category 7 on the second cruise to the same two adjoining verandah cabins(cat 4-7) on both cruises....not sure how to propose that idea though. It would be nice to only have to unpack and pack once.

I checked again tonight (that is at least four times today) and still no cabin #. :upsidedow ;) :) :upsidedow ;) :) :upsidedow ;) :) :upsidedow ;) :)

Hello Jude! Thanks for your hopeful thoughts!!!

It is so funny - it should not even make a difference that we don't know the stateroom number but it is just one of those details that you want to wrap up!!! :goodvibes We actually don't care about the upgrade as we can find great points about the category 5 and all we really care about is that we get to go on the ship!!! We just think it that knowing your room number makes it so much more "real".

Here is to hoping that we get the room number soon! :thumbsup2

Same here !! :goodvibes
We originally booked a cat. 10 ; afterwards , when people on the DIS reported they had found great deals , we asked our TA to see if she could find us ...:thumbsup2 the lowest available price !!
Beth is wonderful : she came back to us , telling that she could find us a cat. 12 GTY !!! Would we be happy into it ??

YES !!!!! :) We saved LOTS of $$ !!!!!!!!!!! and I ;) can always find out many ways :rotfl2: to spend that money !!
Most of our cruises ( but 3 times) we have been inside - and never felt a problem ; we just shower and :thumbsup2 sleep in our cabin !! and , being just the two of us , space isn't an issue !!!

SO I know we'll be happy in every inside room Disney gives us :) ... but I so wish to konw MY # !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok all you seasoned Disney Cruisers -

Help out a newbie (this is our 4th on the Magic) -

UPGRADES AT THE PORT - So, what are the proper logistics and verbiage to get an upgrade cheaply at the port? Now that our room has been assigned, (no upgrade  ) I want to take the 525 disney reward points and surprise the family... (I realize it will cost more, but it's a good start).

Can someone suggest a tactic where I can sneak away and do this undetected? I could do it while the wife checks in our DD6 into the kids club, so maybe I could do it then... any suggestions and secret schemes would be appreciated.

And, if we are able to get a veranda room, has anyone tried to get a certain steward? We had Garry from the Phillipines our first cruise, and he's always remembered us on every cruise since even though he's not been our steward (I'm not sure that's a good thing :rotfl: ).

SHIPBOARD CREDITS - We got our $200 credit when we signed up last year, but I see the ads for the $900 credit, and it leaves me wanting.... any way to cajole the CM's into parting with some of those credits?

Ben, Jenny and Lily (DD6) from Wisconsin
Staying at the Doubletree Oceanside on Friday night (anyone else)
Assigned to 7507, but want to surprise with an upgrade

P.S. - Putting out a call to anyone who wants to meet up the night before we part with kid(s) in tow that are Lily's age (6) so they can have fun on the ship together?

Been resting today, have a bit of ''summer cold'' and no not that its not H1N1! No fever.

Our stateroom has been assigned... 7507 - it's still a category 10 like we bought. From the look of the reservations, though, it appears that there is still plenty of room on board. 'Course, those Florida residents are probably booking them up as we speak!

Ben
Congrats there has been assignments this week, congrats, hopefully we will see more!

I understand they are in cash even if you use DVC for the cruise, after checking in you have to get to the supervisors desk, and ask them for a paid upgrade, I think you will be seen, take care that some of the posts on the main forum can be exaggerated.
Can someone suggest a tactic where I can sneak away and do this undetected? I could do it while the wife checks in our DD6 into the kids club, so maybe I could do it then... any suggestions and secret schemes would be appreciated.
I think you will be seen going to that desk as you will have to do it promptly

Sorry no, its the luck of the draw, they have 'sectors' assigned IE a group of rooms to look after and they swap these around, my hosts have been on deck 8, and on the next cruise deck 7 etc.
SHIPBOARD CREDITS - We got our $200 credit when we signed up last year, but I see the ads for the $900 credit, and it leaves me wanting.... any way to cajole the CM's into parting with some of those credits?
Sorry No again, you get the deal at purchase time only, those offers you see are for new bookings only

Kristin and Ben,
My SIL and her family will be cruising with us. They have a daughter who is 7 (although she thinks she is 17! :cool1:) I "think" that are in 8536 so her cabin isn't too far from your girls. Their ds is 8 and will be looking for other kids his age to hang out with too.
My two - DS14 and DD09 - are really looking forward to meeting the kids they've emailed and written to on the kids board.

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone and actually putting faces to the screen names we've seen for the last year!!

Rain again here in upstate NY. Will the sun ever come out????

Maybe your twin DSs can get together with my pirate: DS(8)!

Fortunately we have not had rain yet this week during the day - only thunder showers at night. My DS and DH spent the days this week at Cub Scout Camp - everything is outside. Since DS can't get his cast wet, rain would create a little problem (DS does travel with garbage bags and rubber band in case of inclement weather! ;))

:flower3: I ordered a surprise for DS for the cabin from The Perfect Gift today. It wasn't something I originally planned to do but he's being so great about everything since he broke his arm that I thought he deserved something a little special.

I can't believe there's only 4 weeks to go. I need to get my act together enough to at least figure out what I still need!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!

Kathy
