Hi all...I introduce myself back in Feb. when we booked and just wanted to drop by and sat HI...:)

Now that schools out I'm hoping to spend some extra time on the "meet" thread. I usually put my 2 cents in on the main thread a few times a week....LOL

So heres a little mini bio...It will be ME (Christa) DH (Jay) DS 13 (Jay Edward) and DS 12 (Jonathan)...these are the boys ages at the time of sailing.

Also coming along will be my SIL and BIL and their DS(9) & DS (6).

Hope to get to know you all soon ;)

Hi Christa :wave2: I joined the meet not long ago. We are Me (Frank) DW (Doreen) and DD (Melody a.k.a. The Woozle - 10 at cruise). This is going to be our 2nd DCL cruise, heck 2nd all together. Our last one was a 4 night on 12/30/07. Really looking forward to it, so many things we didn't get a chance to sample on the last one.

We are leaving for Niagara Falls next Wed. Then in July we are headed to Belmar, NJ for a long weekend at the beach and then come Aug. we are traveling up to northern PA to go camping in a covered wagon..lol...yes I'm serious.

4 days in this.....:scared1: ...Do you think they have room service..LOL

I planned a few mini vacations this year to break up the long wait for this cruise to come....

A covered wagon...Too Cool!!!:thumbsup2 That would be such a blast!!! Do they hitch-up the wagon everyday or so and move to a different location or do you stay in the same camp site?

Now that looks cool!

Where did you find this? I would love to do that.

DS asked yesterday about going camping. His idea of camping turns out to be SMORES!!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Might try and head down to Santa Cruz one weekend over summer and do some camping. (OK lazy camping in one of those camping cabins!!!) I really do not like pitching a large tent for just a couple of nights. Too much work :-)

I seem to recall coming across something on the internet a few years ago about covered wagon trips in the Sierras, around Downieville or the Sierra Meadow area. With this trip they would actually move camp every couple of days and you ride horse back to the campsites.

Hope everyone had a GREAT day.. Just got back from the farm field-trip..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Harry!~

WHat do you have planned for the weekend???!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amen, my L Knee and Shoulder were from falls, my R Knee was from spinning and throwing to first base after scooping a grounder in softball (I think, it was swollen the next day and that's the only thing I can remember doing which could have caused it) :confused3 . I've got an appointment next Tuesday with an Ortho Surgeon for a consultation. Oh Joy :worried:

Sorry to hear that.

Do you still camp? Next to Disney, camping / hunting / fishing (although I stink at it) are my favorite things to do. Nothing like heading to the Sierra's for a long weekend or a whole week. We've got a small 5th wheel trailer, nothing fancy, but it's about the only way I can get DW out in the wilderness :rotfl:

That sounds neat! I do like to camp! DH does not like to camp though, so any camping I do is me taking the kids myself. We tent camp. Last year we only managed 1 night out at my mom's property but this year I intend to take them for a weekend somewhere. The last time we did that DS and I had a great time while DD was still trying to decide if she liked it or not. But she was only 4 at the time, so there is still hope. I stink at fishing but do go a couple of times a year, and I do not hunt.

Once you go for 7 nights you'll never want to go back. ;) Even 7 nights isn't long enough. :lovestruc

Can I come with? :lmao: We have absolutely nothing planned this summer other than going to an amusement park in a couple of weeks. Believe it or not, when I was a kid I went to a summer camp where we slept in covered wagons, no windows, a flap for a door. Are you an outdoorsy/camping kind of person? It actually looks fun! Something different.

Sure come along..everyones invited..:thumbsup2 Idk if we are outdoorsy or not its just how things are around here....up in the BOONIES...lol.

I think it will be fun thanks, I found them when I was researching the area (Cooks Forest, PA) that we wanted to go camping in. I was acutally looking for a cabin and found the covered wagons by chance.

Hi Frank, This will also be our 2nd cruise..we've only done DCL too.

It stays at the camp ground the whole time, they also had tee-pees but that was a little to rustic for me..lol.

That was the same advice that got us started with DCL. My cousin did the land/sea and said that they wished that they would have just skipped the land and done a 7 night. So when we started to plan our first trip we jumped right in to the 7 nighter. I really would love to do something longer with DCL someday.

Hope everyone had a GREAT day.. Just got back from the farm field-trip..!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I remember doing farm field trips with the boys...:worried: thats when they acutally let me go with them!

I tried to sign up for my oldest trip in May and got the "Mom are you really gonna go!" So I took my name off the list and cried for days.

DH said "Honey its really hard to look cool when your mom is licking her finger and rubbing the ketcup off your cheek." So I had to let my little boy go pretend to be a man for a day. BOY WAS IT HARD!!!!

Kristin-

Hey there! Are you going to be around this weekend? We haven't talked in a while. I think I'm going through Kristin withdraw. :lmao:

I will be around. We are going to hang out in the pool all day.. We can chat!!!!!!!!!! I miss you too!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kristen, how was the field trip?

It was soo much FUN!!!!!!!!! We were just telling Bruce about it.. He was laughing soo had that I was just as excited as the kids were about the trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:rotfl2: We moms are so underappreciated, finger licking and all. ;)

DS has been in his room off and on since school let out, crying because it's the last day. :worried: I feel so bad for him because he's never been so sad about school being over. I keep trying to reassure him that we'll have alot of fun this summer, but it's not working.

I'll say it a million times, I so wish I could fly up there for a weekend!!!!!!! Well, if this new job pans out then maybe I will. ;) I should get two weeks of vacation the first year, and I'd get another two weeks right before cruise time. How's that for inviting myself! :rotfl:
