Is the DIS having problems tonight??

Yes, I think it is having trouble again...

It was nice and quite. Hanna is not feeling well a bad cough. They are back @ school tomorrow. It will seem weird to not have them home. Looks, like more snow on Tues. and Friday for us. My parents are leaving for WDW tomorrow I'm so jealous!!!!!

Good pics Harry, I know you are so busy with all of the sports going on!! The boards are definately slow tonight- I was trying to post a reply on another thread and it took forever.
Hey Kristen!!:wave2: I hope Hanna feels better.:flower3:

I'm jealous, too!!

I just checked their flight is enroute due to arrive @ 10:43 this morning..UGH!!!!!!!! I want to go I still have another looooooooooong six weeks before I can go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Morning, Ed, and Nikki!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Monday all. Hope it was a good weekend. Another busy week on tap here. I am creating a new newsletter for a client and I'm usually just the writer on these things but these folks needed a template design too but not enough budget money to actually hire a designer. So I guess it's me. I found a nice template design in "Pages" - a mac program and am attempting to make things fit. Now I know why I never wanted to work on the creative/design side.

I see we have another "swimming family" here. My DD9 is on two local swim teams. A year round one at our gym and a summer team at our YMCA. She's pretty good but this is a tough year because they transition from swimming 25 meters in the 8 and under group to swimming 50s in events. So stamina is definitely an issue she is working on. However, she severely sprained her wrist playing at recess a couple weeks ago and they put it in a cast and she has been out of the pool for 2 weeks. I think she is missing it very much. Unfortunately the way that they casted it, it wouldn't have helped to get a waterproof one because she really couldn't do any of the strokes with her entire hand, wrist and forearm immobilized. It comes off next Monday so I'll be back to breathing chlorine again (Ahhhhh!) :rotfl:

That's about it in our world this week. Hope everyone has an easy Monday to get back into the groove.

I know we are waiting impatiently for our trip in May, we are so excited! We got the dining plan- this will probably be the last time we get it though- and we have some nice character meals planned.

Hi Jeff - Just wait 'til she gets a bit older and starts doing 200s & 400s.... Our DS has actually improved enough to get bumped up to the longer events - though he HATES them! He'll get used to it though. In this past meet, on the second day he bypassed the 50FR, 50BK and did 200s of each. He slept very well last night!

Breathing that hot, muggy, chlorine-filled air is what kills me - it's brutal!

This is the first year in a long time where I don't have any vacation plans made for the current year.

I hear you re the chlorine. and I never dress appropriately. I was timing at a meet last month and had WAY too many clothes on. I thought I was going to melt.

DD9 is also going to play soccer for the first time since she was 3. She has been playing softball in the spring but didn't want to continue because this is the first year that the girls pitch to each other (rather than coaches pitching) and for some reason she didn't want to go on. I'm okay with that as I've never been a fan of the "softball vibe" so I'm looking forward to giving soccer a try even though I know zippo about it. I'm an "older dad" so the soccer craze hadn't hit the US when I was a little kid.

Ed- that makes my head hurt! I LIVE for vacation. BUt that being said, we have had to cancel 2 trips due to a family situation (my mother in law is very ill) and our summer plans are not set either. It's weird to not have anything planned until November. I know we'll do something this summer but I like having the time to obsess over it.

We did that in 2006, just stayed home and did some improvements on our house, didn't go anywhere- but I needed a vacation!! So that is when I planned our 2 week WDW/DCL trip, my DH won't suggest we not go somewhere again.:rotfl2:

I know what you mean,
In 2005 & 2006 we were 3 weeks on the road.
In 2007 we were two weeks on the road and then another week at a cabin a month later.

Each year I get 22 days in addtion to holidays off, I have carried over 3 to 4 days a year.

Right now I have 27 days and no plans, This will change in about a month, as there is no way we are staying home all those days :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Yeah, you need to make some vacation plans- I work for vacation too!! My DH gets quite a bit more time off than me(4 weeks, plus 10 personal days):sad1: - I haven't been at my job that long(I get 3 weeks 2 personal days)- but next year I do get an extra week. We can also buy a week- which I did I would have had only 2 weeks.:cool1: i wish we could buy more than 1 week!! lol

We get 10 holidays and 2 personal days, we can only buy 1 extra week of vacation if we have less than 3 weeks of vacation.

Vacations are the best. I can't wait for ours in April.

Ed,
Any idea of where your thinking of going this summer??
