I hope you're having a great weekend

We had a fab time at the Pink concert. She was brilliant. She has a really good voice and she sang a few songs while performing on a trapeze (Cirque de soleil style). We'd all like to see her again

The girls were standing for the concert, but the package we had enabled us to have a hot buffet before the concert (with the yummiest Tiramisu for dessert), 3 drinks and we could go back to the suite during the interval. It was a great night

We enjoyed the Rugby match yesterday afternoon too

Today we're hoping to visit his aunt, then the weather is supposed to be quite nice today, so all being well, we'll get the grass cut, then sit out this afternoon

Mandy, sounds like you have had another very successful weekend.

The weather was extremely nice here on Saturday, yesterday was a bit chilly and windy.

Today it is raining It is supposed to be rainy until about Thursday when we will have a turn towards nicer weather again.

My July Florida trip is starting to look like it might turn into a reality instead of just a dream

Not 100% percent sure yet, just about 75%

It is so lovely over here at the moment. We have had a couple of warm days, so I've been out doing a bit of gardening and lying out in the sun

Thankfully the nice weather is supposed to stay with us for a few more days, so by the end of the week, I shouldn't look so pasty

Morning everyone.

Alex passed his physical fitness test and can now take the fulltime paramedic job that he was offered

I don't know when he will start because he still has to be certified by the local hospital but that is more of a formality.

The doctors at the hospital are responsible for the care given by the paramedics, so they must check to be sure that the person has the proper skills.

So now he will be looking for a place to live. Lots of things to work out in the next little while.

It's been another lovely day over here today. I've had a nice day to myself. I went to town for a wander around the shops (I didn't buy anything though), did some exercise, then sat out in the garden for an hour or so

Hi Mandy

It's been a little crazy around here lately.

Liz found out this morning that she is not going to be able to stay in the college residence this fall.

So, now I've got two children looking for living accommodations in different cities at the same time

I'm sure it will all work out in the end, somehow.

As for my Florida vacation, Liz and I are going on July 11 to July 18.

A friend offered us the use of their timeshare week for free.

Their time share is pretty much on the other side of the road from Disney, about a mile or so away.

So, we are going to have us a Disney Vacation

I have booked flights and a rental car. We still have 5 days left on our park hopper passes from a couple of years ago, so we are good to go!

It might end up that the lady who owns the timeshare week might come with us and we will leave all the men at home

She is not really into Disney much but said that she would have no trouble filling a week as she has friends in Orlando.

She is heading back home to England this Friday for a couple of weeks to be there for her grandson's birthday.

But for now it is Liz and I and Mickey Mouse

Oh yes our plans so far are this:

Arrive in Orlando about 10:30 am on the Saturday morning, get our car and head to the timeshare and probably pick up some bits of food for breakfasts at "home".

Then maybe go off for some Downtown Disney or other shopping.

As for parks, we will parkhop.

We want to see some of the things that we don't normally take the time for, you know, parades, shows, fireworks, that sort of thing.

Just slow down and enjoy being there.

Mandy, you usually go in the summer, how do you find the weather?

It's always hot and humid here at home at that time of year, so I'm thinking Florida is not going to be that big of a change for us.

Everyone's got a vacation ticker but me... no fair!

Money is a little tight, a friend was joking the other night and said we could just pitch a tent in each other's backyard.

Don't feel bad for me! I'll be fine!

Times are tough for everyone and money is tight everywhere.

I've decided to give up my lawn care service and go back to cutting my own grass. $800.00 is just a big waste of money for the little bit of time it takes me to do it myself.

Now, I'll tell you that I absolutely loved the lawn service, the yard never looked better.

Guess the neighbours will probably miss it as much as I do

So, that's $800 plus dollars that I can put towards something else...... like trips to see Mickey

Its my day off...
Well Im not really "off"...I have to get my mom and take her out...
But I dont mind...

It SNOWED this morning......Its all just a bit too crazy for me


My son gets back from Italy tomorrow...I am praying for a safe flight...Cant wait to see him...He has posted some pictures on facebook...He has seen some really cool things...and even got to see the pope...He was only about 10 feet away....He has a picture of that also..He sounded really tired when we talked to him, but I think he has had a wonderful time...

Well I'm off to get ready for my day...Not the greatest weather-wise, but I'll take what I can get at this point...at least I'm not cooking burgers or fries...LOL

It's been another lovely day today. We've got one more day of sunshine, and then the rain arrives on Saturday - nevermind, it was great while it lasted

Robin ~ Your Florida plans sound great. It'll be here before you know it

I know what you mean about cutting back. I'm trying to cut back on our grocery shopping - but it's hard with two teenagers

Kelly ~ It's great to hear from you. What have you been up to ? I hope everyone is keeping well

Betsy ~ Enjoy your time with your mom. I'm pleased that your son had a great trip to Italy.

I can't believe that you've had more snow that would be so depressing

Yay ! It's Friday

What have you got planned for the weekend ? Anything nice ?

Paul & I are going down to Cardiff tomorrow. We're meeting our friends Jules & Ian (who we got incredibly drunk with on New Year's Eve in Epcot ). We're meeting up around lunchtime at our hotel, then getting a taxi to the Hard Rock Cafe - then after an afternoon of eating, laughing, chatting and drinking many cocktails we'll go back to the hotel to chill out for a while, then get ready to go out for a meal around Cardiff Bay in the evening

Me, Paul, Jules & Ian on New Year's Eve

We're also hoping to meet up with our friend Sue, but she's been poorly over the last couple of days - so it will be a shame if we don't get to catch up with her

Kerry & Becky are having Bex over to stay tomorrow night, so I'm sure they'll have fun too

We had a great time in Cardiff. We met our friends and had lunch at the Hard Rock Cafe where we had a lovely meal and far too many cocktails (gotta love those Hurricane's ). Last night we met up with another couple of friends, and we ate at a Chinese buffet restaurant

Today it will be a bit cooler than yesterday but still in the mid 70's.
