Hello ladies.

It's a dreary day here today so far.

Did everyone have a nice weekend.

Friday we went out to dinner at friends.

Yesterday we had dinner at my mom's. Our group was really small this year but it was peaceful that way.

Not too much exciting going on around here today.

Wednesday we have to take the trailer to get the fridge fixed because of that refrigerator recall of last year. Better late than never I suppose. Apparently the fridges can catch on fire but ours seems to be okay. But better fix it for free than have the trailer burn.

What's happening with you?

Betsy, how are you handling working so much? It must be difficult getting back into that sort of a routine.

I bet you were pleased when the first pay came though

We are working out our vacation plans for the coming year. I'm hoping to get a Disney trip in there somewhere.

Robin,
Its hard, but I kind of like it busy..it makes the day go fast...The only thing is ..I start to feel it a few hrs. after I get home and have a hard time staying awake...I just hope they keep giving me the hrs. I want..Id love to get 40 hrs a week, but I was told only management get 40..but If I can get at least 30-35(which Ive been getting for the most part) I'll be happy...

It was sunny today, but still quite cold..I think the high was 51 today...and yesterday was sunny again but only in the 40s and windy......i'm still trying to figure out where spring is...

Well...Im off to watch some TV.

Kerry had a great time with her friends on her first weekend away without us. She went to Southampton with her two friends Bex and Ellie. They had lots of fun, and I'm starting to feel very old, as it doesn't seem that long ago, that I was going away with my friends

On Saturday, me, Paul, Becky and her friend Kelly went to Manchester for a bit of retail therapy. We stayed over and had a lovely time too

The girls have got another week off before they head back to school and college

Well it's back to normality for me today, and I'm off to my mums and taking her into town

Mandy, time does fly by fast doesn't it! CW & I went to a dance and caught up with alot of old school friends... we had a great time! They played alot of songs that were popular during our high school years.

Everything from the 80's seems to be back in fashion Kelly - the clothes, the music .. it's a shame I remember it all from the first time round though

At least you remember it!! I have a hard time remembering things... I recognized alot of faces, but couldn't put names to them. Thank the Lord I had a friend there who would whisper to me their names!

I blame my memory loss of my teens!

Well now I have a lot of things in the works but I don't know for sure how many will actually come to pass.

In July a friend has offered us the use of their timeshare in Orlando. I'm thinking that will make a fairly cheap vacation to Disney The timeshare will technically cost us nothing (but will have to find something to make it up to them )

Liz and I have 5 days left on our 7 day park hopper passes, so all we would need would be flights and a car rental and food for the week we would be there.

Still working on the details of that one.

Then the summer airplane competition season will be starting, so lots of weekend getaways.

The same friends who are giving us their timeshare are planning on a fall vacation with us, probably September or October using another of their timeshare weeks.

Destination is not decided for that one but it could easily be Florida again.

Still hoping on doing a cruise in January, either with Ann and Tom again or the same friends that we are vacationing with in the fall.

Then of course everyone wants to go down and fly their airplanes in late Feb or early March.

So who knows what we will get up to in the next few weeks.

I will be sure to let you all know what we decide.

sounds like you had fun seeing your old friends...I wouldnt know most of my old schoolhood friends...They could walk right up and talk to me and I wouldnt even know who they were...LOL..
Its just been way too many years...I'm OLD!....LOL

Mandy, Looks like the girls made the most of there time off from school...

I'm off to work at 10:30 this morning and work til 5PM...
I had the same hrs. yesterday...
They started training me on register yesterday...Its fun...a bit confusing right now, but I'm sure I'll get it in no time!
I like the fact I can interact with the customers, instead of just being on grill or fries...It makes the time go faster too!...As a matter of fact I was so into it yesterday that I forgot about time and didnt get off work until 45 mins after I was suppose to...Thats OK ..I just made a bit more for our trip to Maui ...

Well I'm going to go find breakfast and get ready....Have a good day everyone
Its suppose to go into the 60s here!....( not that I'll see much of it)

Betsy, I think that you would be wasted on grill or fries.

I think your talents would be best used on the register or the drive thru window.

You like to talk to people, you smile alot and are cheerful.

Exactly what they need for that position.

But maybe they are grooming you to become a manager, right from the start.

That way you know how grill works, how all the different stations work

Aww...Thanks robin...

They train everyone for ALL the stations..We have a three month training period..So when its done they can put us at any given station, as the need arises...

I'm not sure I'd like being a Manager...they get moved around to work different stores all the time...I wouldn't want to have to go someplace else to work..I picked working here because it was so close...
The people who own this store own three more in Binghamton NY, and one in Hallstead Pa.(about 15 miles or so east of here) and Gibson Pa. which is even farther..(I think)

It's a horrible, wet and grey day today. I took my mum into town this morning and I'm glad I'm home and staying indoors

I agree with Robin, Betsy, you'd be great with the customers - I'm so pleased that your job is going well

Morning Mandy, it's a beautiful nice warm sunshiny day here today

It's about time too

I'm not sure what I'm doing with the rest of it yet but I have dance classes tonight to deal with.

Alex got a call yesterday and was offered a full time paramedic job. He had about given up hope on getting this one because they said they would call within 2 weeks and it's been more like a month.

He's quite excited but he needs to pass a physical fitness test first to qualify for the job.

Hopefully he will be able to do it. He's been working out at the gym for the past couple of weeks trying to get himself back into better shape after months of being a couch potato.

This job is 5 hours from home which is not so nice but better than the 20 hours that he moved away last time he left. It's also in a beautiful mid sized city which I like. I'd much rather he not work in Ottawa or Toronto where there is so much violence. This city is much more like what we have here.

His girlfriend will be going with him after she finishes a job that she has for the summer.

A fulltime paramedic job is a very rare thing these days, most of them are only part time. So we are all very happy for him.

Betsy, I'm so glad to hear everything has been working out for you. I agree with the girls about you being great with the public! You have a wonderful, upbeat personality... that's why we like you so much!

.. and we've got a fun weekend planned (for a nice change ). The girls have just gone to Birmingham on the train, then we're meeting them later as we're going to see Pink tonight

Tomorrow, Paul & I are heading down to London, to watch a Rugby cup final game - so that should be good too
