That's too bad because I was really in the mood to get that report done.

My son Alex got a lovely gift from his girlfriend this morning

She rear-ended his car when they were going into work this morning

It was slippery and she was behind him and couldn't stop at the stop sign and ran right into him

It hurt her car a lot more than it did his though. He has a trailer hitch on his car that probably saved his from some damage and wasn't so nice for hers.

His car is not too bad but even little hits like that can cost thousands of dollars to fix

Her car is not driveable at the moment and has a fair amount of damage to the front on the passenger side.

When she realized she was not going to be able to stop she tried to swerve to miss him but hit the back corner.

Probably was a better idea than hitting his straight on.

Oh well, stuff like that happens

My Very First 7 Day Disney Cruise

Friday January 23 - Departure Day:

Here comes da plane . Can't wait to get onboard and leave all this snow and cold behind us.

Saturday January 24 -- to the Magic we go:

After a not so restful sleep at the Best Western near the airport (heavy smoke on the non smoking floor and huge arguments in the hallways), we are off to Port Canaveral.

I thought it was interesting how this crew member found himself a nice little patch of shade for a nap by the crew pool:

Inside of one of the lifeboats. Did you know that there is food and water kept on those lifeboats?? I didn't until after I took one of the "backstage" tours.

Sunday, January 25, Key West, Florida

We never got off the ship the whole cruise, well Rick didn't. I got off for a few hours in Castaway Cay. We used the ship as a floating resort. Just hung around deck, read, relaxed and enjoyed the warmth.

I thought this very very red building looked quite out of place with it's surroundings.

Another self portrait. I was laying there when I realized that I could see my reflection above me

Two person loungers at Quiet Cove pool. They looked nice but I didn't really find them to be all that comfy.

Rick working really hard at doing nothing:

We ended up on Deck 4 in the comfy deck chairs. I decided that I was going to do the walking/jogging track and left Rick sitting in the chair. When I came back around this is what I saw:

Another turn around and I stopped to look at all the neat stuff at the pointy end of the ship:

And I saw this:

Third time around the scenery hadn't changed much at all

Fourth time by...... oh look. He's giving me the look like..... oh, have you been gone???? I've only walked 1.23 miles while you've been checking your eyelids for cracks

Tuesday January 27, Grand Cayman:

We pondered for a long time over who the lucky Canadian was who owned this beautiful yacht Darn thing is bigger than my whole house

If you look carefully you can see a door opened up there. There was a crew member doing something??

Did you know that the nautical flags under the ship in this picture spell out DISNEY? The flags on either side of the words Treasure Ketch say DCL. The things you learn on those adult enrichment series things It's not all fun and games on a cruise you know

Wednesday January 28, Cozumel, Mexico

Beautiful water, so clear and such a lovely colour.

It was very strange when we were pulling up to the dock. That large ship was parked right straight in front of us and it looked like we were going to go right thru it

Our server Roberto and our assistant server Percy. Roberto was trying to get Percy to sing in Spanish to the young girl at the next table. It was her 19th birthday. Percy did eventually sing and it was wonderful.

Thursday, January 29, sea day.

Okay, now this is where I make all you ladies real jealous.

At breakfast that morning they announced that there would be a Q & A session with the ships entertainers in the Walt Disney Theater, so I decided to go.

Turns out I was the only one who showed up, so I had 5 entertainers all to myself

They asked if I had any questions, and I'm like... ummmm, I thought I'd just listen to everyone elses questions

So I asked them if Tarzan really has all those muscles that you see while he's swinging on the rope on stage.

The one guy says..... Well, I don't know Stephen do you have all those muscles.

So....... I got to meet Tarzan in person.

I really enjoyed my time with the entertainment staff. I also got a personal, private backstage tour.

I got to go onstage. For those who've cruised I could have sat on AnneMarie's bed.

I held a $35,000.00 dollar dress that Cinderella wears.... boy is that thing heavy. And they have 3 more of them

We even went down under the stage where the lifts are.

Pretty neat. I'm glad that I went.

My goodness, how far we have come:

One last visit to our favourite hang out spot for the past 7 days

After we got off the ship we thought we'd go over to the Gaylord Palms and have a look around, since it looks like a nice place.

Well we somehow took a wrong turn and look where we ended up.

I'm so glad that we had the chance to spend that time together with you and Tom.

Not that we wouldn't have had a great time on our own but having you two on the same ship really made the trip extra special.

Mandy I really liked those shots too.

I just decided the first time around to take his picture and then everytime I came back around I couldn't resist.

I think if I had gone around a few more times that I would have had a few more of them to add to my collection but I was tired of walking around and around

I wish you had been there too Mandy and you too Colleen.
