7seater mini van and SUV

Has anyone hired a 7 seater SUV through Alamo? At the moment I have booked us a 7 seater mini van. There are only 3 of us but we have 6 hard type suitcases and really struggled with the luxury car we had last trip. Can you get such a thing as a 7 seater SUV and if so will I get my 6 suitcases in! TIA

A Jeep Cherokee (4X4) would probably be ok for that many cases and only 3 people

We hire a Minivan through Dollar and there are just the 3 of us too - mind you we do not have 6 cases, blimey that's a lot

You will defiitely be able to fold the back seat down as you won't need it, if you had a couple of more people in your party I would say it would be a tight squeeze as 'people carriers' are not necessarily good for people AND luggage.
However, you should be able to get possibly 4 cases once the rear seat is down, and then there is plenty of room in the cabin for the rest...guess it depends on how big your cases are?
We have 3 very large Delsey hard cases, maybe yours are smaller.....

Do you think that I would be able to get 6 soft medium sized suitcases in this 4 x 4. There will be 3 adults and 1 teenager so could make use of the spare back seat if necessary.

Hoping to book the Alamo upgrade offer for a 4 x 4 as I don't want to have a 7 seater van if possible.

Johnny, I do go a bit mad on the shopping. Last year we only had 4 cases and had to go buy 2 extra to bring the shopping home

5 of the cases are the biggest you are allowed and one of them slightly smaller. Hopefully they will all fit!

I think they will fit because there are just the 3 of you, any more people and it would have been a struggle , especially as you would then be taking more suitcases

we've rented a 7 seater minivan from alamo several times..
once you've signed the agreement, you go outside to the parking structure where all the cars are parked and pick the van of your choice...
since we had tons of luggage (and 4 people) our choice was a minivan with an incredibly large area for luggage.....it was sunken down , not flat the way they usually are and it fit all of our luggage easily....

i think it was a chrysler towncar, but i can't recall...
but you can just go down the line of towncars and pick the one that you like best.....depending on what your preferences are (you might like the seats set up in one particular way or another)..

We have a Grand Voyager and you'll get three people and the luggage in there very easily.
We have hired a grand cherokee before and it would be tight for the luggage plus I didn't like the brakes, they were VERY soft and I didn't feel comfortable with they the whole holiday. We also only got 21 to the gallon so I think you will be far better off with the Voyager.
