Hi, we're just starting our park stategy planning for our trip in 3rd week of April 2015. We're staying off property so I'm guessing we'll have a hard time getting FP for 7DMT.

Questions:
1. If we do rope drop at MK (non EMH day) and go right to 7DMT what do you all think the wait times would look like?
2. After 7DMT what would the wait times be like at Space? How about PPF?

Please bear with me... our last trip was in the summer 2012 before they openened the new Fantasyland and before FP+.

1. It depends on how close to the front of the line you are when you arrive (i.e. how fast of a walker you are). It could be anywhere from 0 minutes to about 30 minutes.
2. Also depends on your success at 7DMT. At that time of year (after the spring break rush ends), I would think you'd have a good chance at a wait of less than 30 minutes at either of those.
:)

Thanks! We'll be pretty close to the front at rope drop and we're relatively fast walkers. Sounds like we can get in at <30 min.

We (me, my DH, and our adult DD) had no FP+ for 7DMT when we visited the world last month, so we arrived at the MK well before rope drop on November 11. There was a very large crowd at the turnstiles, so we were happy we arrived early (plus they let everyone in earlier than the posted time of 9AM). We managed to stay towards the front of the line when it started to move, and pretty much power walked all the way to the ride behind a 'human chain' of CMs. We literally walked onto the ride with perhaps a 2 minute wait and were done before 9AM. We all enjoyed it very much, and found it very smooth and fun. We decided to go back 15 minutes before closing time (MK hours were extended to midnight on that day), and waited a good 35 minutes to ride (posted wait time was 40 minutes), therefore I would say RD is your best bet.

Thanks so much. So, while I have the attention of the experts, does this sound realistic to do within the first hour and a half if we arrive well before RD and are relatively close to the front?

-PPF
-Space Mtn

IMHO, this is absolutely doable, yes! We also headed for PPF after 7DMT, and waited about 20 minutes to ride without a FP+

We were able to get a FP for Seven Dwarves after our arrival at WDW so keep checking your MDE for it.

As far a Space Mountain, why not ride single rider? My daughter was in and out in a flash.

No single rider for space

If you want an alternate strategy, the lines are much shorter in the evening. During opening week for 7D, we were able to ride twice in 30 minutes on a non-EMH night.

The posted wait time was 80 minutes, but the actual wait was 20 mins the first time then 10 for the 2nd trip.

This may be a more efficient use of time then arrive extra early, waiting outside the gate then riding only once before the line gets long.

Thanks so much everyone. Don't know what I'd do without DIS!
