What would you do, and why?

We are staying at POR so if its the 7am we will take a taxi

its me, DH and 2 kids- early risers (though 7am is still a tad bit early since we need to allow for travel time), second day of our trip

going to DHS after breakfast for SWW- staying for about half a day, then back to POR to relax before DTD

If you are planing on hitting DHS for SWW after breakfast, then I'd go at 7am. That way you can make rope drop and get some touring in before the park gets absolutely jam packed like it always does during Star Wars Weekends.

If you wait until after 9, you won't make it until 11, and you won't be able to move in the park.

Let me start by saying I am one of those "come to the parks early and enjoy the light crowds, take a break while everyone who came later is standing in line and cranky and go back later and rested and reset and enjoy the evening." That's my touring philosophy so with in mind....

I'd JUMP on the 7:00 a.m. Especially since you're willing to take a taxi to get there (which is very wise). I really like to get a very early breakfast, take the time to have fun and enjoy it and then get on with my day or a very late breakfast and call it a brunch. The times in the middle just cut into, what I consider to be, valuable touring time. Also a first breakfast ressie means the whole buffet has just been put out so it's fresh and warm!

If DHS has the traditional 9:00 am start you should have time to ENJOY your breakfast and then hop the monorail to Epcot and take the boat or just take the bus over and still make it on time.

I would do this because I am a firm believer in the rope drop, not because I can "get so much more done" in the first few hours in the park but because I can enjoy what I do so much more when the crowds are light.

For me, if I was doing the 9:15 I'd spend the whole breakfast worrying about losing early morning park time. That's what I think, FWIW.

Have a magical trip! :wizard:

with the 7:00 AM ADR also. It often takes us 75-90 minutes to see all the characters at CM unless we're really early or really late. SWW can relly get crowded so I would try to get there early. With a 7:00 AM ADR, you should be at DHS for rope drop. Besides the one time we made it for rope drop at a SWW there were storm troopers out patrolling - mainly on top of the buildings at the entrance. That was entertaining.

perfect! thank you! We will also have the GAD fastpasses that day which will make DHS extra enjoyable thank goodness!

So- can we just take a bus from the contempory straight to DHS or do you recommend something else?

You can take a bus from the Contemporary to DHS - this will be the quickest/easiest option besides taking a taxi.

You could take the monorail to the Ticket & Transportation Center and then take a bus from there to DHS, but it really wouldn't make any sense to do that unless you had time to kill and wanted to ride the monorail.

bus from contemporary to DHS it is

Joe- since we are staying onsite- I assume we will get a bounceback- is it always a room discount? If so, will we be able to combine it with free dining in september? Because that would be awesome-

Disney unfortunately will make you pick 1 promotional offer - you would not be able to combine multiple promotions for a single trip. Usually with the bounceback offer, Disney offers you the same promotion for your current trip & it will have to fall within roughly the same timeframe for next year. So if you think you might go back to WDW at around the same time next year & you get a bounceback offer, I would book it because you can always cancel it later if you decided to go in September instead.

the Contemporary. It may be linked to one of the other monorail resorts but you should get there in time. It will be crowded.

Also, you might check to see if the MK has an AM EMH that day. If so the buses will be running earlier. The walk from the bus stops to the Contemporary is pretty quick.

Joe- Boo- we wont be seeing you in September then- So let me get this straight- with my bounce back I can hopefully use it to book a vacation for May 2011 with the same discount possibly as we got this trip? That would be awesome!

Hootch- Unfortunately MK has PM EMH that day

Edited to add- Nevermind- I figured out the current bounce back is good through Dec 2010

This is how the bounceback has worked for us over the past 3 years with free dining in Sept. However, I just learned that the current bounceback offer is not offering for dates in 2011 - it is for select dates for the rest of this year. So I'm not sure what kind of bounceback offer you will get :confused3 If you're planning on a 2nd trip for this year, in Sept, we'll be there from 9/2-9/12 :). Next year we're thinking about 2 trips (don't know if we can actually do it or not) - 1 over Easter in April and the other in Nov/Dec, but who knows we may be back next Sept again.

Defiantely the 7 am espically since your going to DHS after. I would always opt for that time vs later. You go 7 you will be seated right away . You go 9 at peak time you will be waiting to sit. Which could put you at maybe 9:20 the to eat by the time your done might not be till 10:30 -10:45 then by time you catch the bus which will take almost an hour to get there you might not be at DHS till 12. It would be 7 am for me for sure :thumbsup2

We have a 7:15 am at Chef Mickey's on our MK day. It's EMHs for the evening, so we're planning on driving over from POR since we'll have our own car. Should we then drive back to POR (seems like that might be a big time waster) and head back to MK via bus or just stay parked at the Contemporary & take the bus back in the evening? Do you think we can make RD at MK if we're coming from the Contemporary?

Sorry so many questions....I just hate wasting time! lol

There's a time limit if your not staying at the CR that you can park your car there. You will have to move your car when your done and either go back to your hotel or park in the MK parking lot.
