7am MM really???

If only DL was open that late. I would love it if they did Extra Magic Hours like WDW does. The parks are at their most magical at night, IMO.

Well, I don't think we could do it. I was wondering if we could make it to the 8am MM when we go. Probably unlikely. Even if it's Disneyland I still don't want to be there before I'm normally at work! 9am for DL and 10am for DCA I can handle. But I am NOT a morning person, so what do I know

Me too! In fact I left my family in the hotel asleep and went by myself! I am an early riser, so a 7am MM is nothing for me :)

LOL - what a great idea! I think I'll steal it. Plus then I have an excuse to come back to the room & nap when my family is at the crowded Park!

My middle daughter (age 15) is not a fan of early mornings. She will do MM because she isn't a fan of crowds either!! A time or two on nonMM days she has even walked in the gate, handed me her ticket, and then has gone back to the hotel to sleep.... She IS a fan of me collecting fastpasses!!! :)

7 a.m. MM is not too early for us. Of course we are from Kansas and 7 a.m. P.S.T. is 9 a.m. C.S.T........:cool1:

Same with us! I was going to post this, but you beat me to it. We are coming from Illinois & it will be so nice to have the 2 hr time advantage that we will be ready to go & actually have some nice breakfasts and still make it to the parks b4 opening/MM. Now we will have early evenings though.
At WDW, we lose an hour, so we're usually more rushed getting ready, eating breakfast, & getting to park opening.

When the did the Hannah Montana Sweet 16 thing, they had to close the park early, so they opened DL at 6 AM!! to compensate. I have to admit, we did not get there until 6:45am.

I am from the east coast, and sort of stay on east coast time, so a 7 am opening feels late, feels like 10 am to us.

And guests from WDW would do it, they get up early to go to the parks to beat the Florida heat all the time.

If you have kids, they often get up early, so these families also do not mind hitting the parks super early.

that helps to know the time difference thing helps..we are in MN so central time too!

We are more early risers than stay up late people. I can't even remember the last time I was at the park past 9 or 10! Probably a night we did WOC but that is about it! We are so used to that schedule from having to do it every day for work and school (dh goes to work at 4 and kids have to be up at 6 for school) that we are just used to it. Granted my kids are getting to be closer to teens and are wanting to sleep in more but we know that getting to the parks early is the ultimate way to get stuff done so it is a necessary evil.

Sometimes I miss the old days of being at the parks late but I enjoy the early days too.

If I stayed on-site I would definitely take that approach but I can never afford to. :rotfl:

If you get a reservation for breakfast in the park, you can get in early. I did not have MM the last time I went but I made a reservation for the Plaza Inn as early as possible. Infact, I was the first one there and had the characters to myself. I was able to get some good picture of them together. I ate and then was able to take advantage of MM. It can be expensive but I was only at Dl for 36 hours so it was worth it for me.

Yep! It is possible! :) If you think its really going to wipe you out, then plan to go back to the hotel for midday naps. The park is so crowded then, its not really a big of a deal. You won't be missing anything.

But missing that 1 hour in the AM *is* a big deal because you can get a TON of rides done in one hour, that would have taken you seriously ALL DAY otherwise. Fantasyland ride lines are ridiculously long in the afternoon...like an hour...for a 2 minute ride.

We choose to ease into our days at Disney and typically hit the park around 9:30am to 10:00am sometimes even 11:cool1: Then we stay until closing every day we are at the park. We end up exhausted so we sleep late again:love: We basically get ME (magic evenings) as if you have ever been some of the last people out of the park you will know that special feeling of taking your time and soaking up the day until the last minute and the shops are open until 1am even if the rides stop around 12, although our last trip we were on a couple rides well after 12 and 12:40 in one case. We have never had any meltdowns at Disney with either of our kids and I think this is based on our scheduling. Getting up that early and trying to stay at the park for an extended period is a recipe for meltdowns and burning out early. Sleep late & stay late! Many people leave the park right after Fantasmic and fireworks so the rides are all yours! Like Magic!

I'm a notoriously late sleeper and we always get up for the 7am MM. We did it in June with three kids 3 and under. It was a bit of a rush (I refuse to get up before 6) but we managed to always get there within a couple minutes of 7 and being able to do all of FL and get on Buzz before the crowds is so worth it (for us).

We always always go back to the hotel for a nap and a swim though. Unless all three of the kids pass out at the same time (HA! only once the entire trip) and then we just found a quiet spot to sit in the shade and took turns going on single rider rides.

Ok seriously how many people get up for a 7am MM ?? I can imagine alot but I am not sure I will be able to of thwas thinking of saving most of Fantasyland for that am..does that sound right? The night before we have MM is Fantasmic premium seats so it will be a late one but I am hoping I can get them all moving early! Hoping their bodies will be on central time still..hehehee :wizard:

Our whole family is up by 0430-0500 every day of the week including Disney time. You can sleep when you are some place else.

We just did it on sunday with 3 kids(3,7 & 10) and were there at 6am. Plus we got to open the park, which the whole family LOVED!!! Then Tuesday we did Minnies Breakfast @7:10am and it was soooo worth it!!!

It all depends on you and your family if thats something you really want to experience. We got to go on so much in that hour before the crowds came it!!

For us it was totally worth it to be at the MMs. There were 3 available during our vacation and we made it to all of them! We got in at 7 and were ready for a break/nap at noon. I love leaving when the crowd starts to pick up! We'd head back around 5pm. So even though we're getting up early on vacation, it's not like we don't take the time to relax. My family would have been burned out if we tried to go from 7am to midnight without a break!

I couldn't agree more!

For us, it is a long way to go to get to DL...we try to balance maximizing our trip by doing as much as possible, and trying to stay fresh for maximum enjoyment.

This means maintaining our early morning rising, but indulging in an afternoon swim and nap if needed....

We have never really 'slept in' on our DL holidays....including our then teen son, who is grumpy for the first 30 seconds of waking up and then raring to go with the rest of us!

I so far anyway, cannot seem to make the MM, the tail end of it, if anything, but not from the beginning. Timing wise that is. For I don't believe that one can go in near the end. Sometimes Main Street though will open early. That is always nice. No particular schedule for that, as far as I know, therefore it is hit and miss. Anyway, I am not a morning person, that is why I cannot seem to make MM ever. :faint: Perhaps one day? :) In the meantime, I am content with being at the land before or at least as close as possible to opening.
