7AM EMH--What time does the security line start forming?

We just did that yesterday. We left GCH at 6:15 and lined up at 6:30. We were first in line. It was totally cool to be one of the first to enter the park. Everyone started coming about 6:45.

We didn't realize the left side wasn't opened for EMH. That kinda sucked.

Does GCH have their own security line? They don't share a line with DLH, do they?

So if staying on site at DLH what time should we plan on leaving the hotel for a 7am EMH? Is it security line that has a long line or to enter the park? or both?

I have not been since 2016 so not very clear on the new security lies.

That's exactly what I'm wondering...what time to line up for a 7 am EMH from DLH.

Good Lord! I mean, I get up at 5:30-6 to get ready usually. I can't imagine being up and and ready to get coffee from Starbucks at 5 AM.

We're from the central time zone. 5 AM at DLR feels like 7 AM to me. I'm usually up killing the time before most things are open.

Yes, both DTD Starbucks open at 5am.

They did take mobile ordering this time last year; perhaps someone else has had a more recent experience. I think you can also just put the address in your Starbucks App and see if you can order there.

As optimistic as we were I didn't make it to DLH security until about 7:10am, but there were no signs of a line and it jives with what others are reporting. We grabbed our coffee and hopped on the monorail and were in the parks just after 7:30am. As far as security from the hotels goes from what has been reported on the DIS the last few days the earlier the EMH the less concern you need to have about a security backup (9AM EMH though and security becomes a big time suck). If first at rope-drop is what you're looking for I'd follow @momtoalovelyone and leave the hotel at 6:15am.

Closest is Downtown Disney West. This is the mini-Starbucks (no seating) across from the monorail. Yep, they take mobile ordering! Each morning when we grabbed coffee, usually about 7:15am, there was a line of people waiting outside to order so FOR SURE order on the mobile app. I ordered as I was exiting the hotel and approaching security. (Don't mix it up with the other starbucks in downtown disney, that one can take longer and is crazy busy- at least it was during my one EMH experience when I accidentally ordered from that starbucks. Never again! The mini Starbucks by the monorail is great!)

Yes. We order as we are walking out of the room, and our order us either ready, or ready within a minute or 2 of arrival.

As for "closest coffee", the Disneyland Hotel coffee shop (located to the west of the Fantasy Tower, by the entrance to Goofy's Kitchen) is closer, and no security. ALSO, they have Dole Whip Floats (with or without Rum.) Be advised, if you get the rum version you cannot go thru security with it.

Yep. I went back and double checked my app from my trip a couple weeks ago.

Are you serious? Oops. I didn't realize it's been open that long already. I don't usually drink coffee, hence the not knowing.

I only do teas and my granddaughter (6) does lemonade. But she knows how to use the app and order for us (same one who ordered Cheezit's off Amazon at 3yo...) But I know it was live in Sept of 2016 as we hit it to pick up drinks for our runners.

Yes, GCH has its own. There was like no one there. It's a breeze!

I think you would be very safe lining up at the gates at 6:30 for a 7:00 EMH. You should be able to be first at one of the gates. Look up top at the gates to see what it says to get in the right lines.

If your group can swing the early start, 7:00 EMH can be quite spectacular, then you can break later and take a nap around 1.

We left the DLH at 6:20 this morning, placed an order with the Downtown Disney Starbucks (the one closest to the parks) as we were walking out the door. There was absolutely no line at security. Grabbed our Starbucks on our leisurely walk (it was ready to go) and got in line for DCA EMH by about 6:35. Most turnstile lines had 1-2 families lined up, but no more than that. We ate our breakfast, drank our coffee, and entered the park at 7:00.

You know.... I think I might have to give this leave-the-room-at-6:20-thing a try. I'm not usually hugely concerned about being the first one in, but I think I might do it just so I don't have to walk behind slow people. LOL

The Coffee House at DLH opens at 6, too, so I could grab a breakfast-type snack before we head out.
