What would the strategy be for FoP on an EMH at 7am? for RD? What would you think the crowds would be like for this?

I have the same question. I am trying to figure out how early the buses start. There is so many mixed responses and I do not want to be late because the bus didn't come until 6:30am. Any advice I would also appreciate.

If you want to be there by 6:00, you may want to budget in an uber ride for that morning. I don't think the buses will get you there that early.

The buses should be there before 6:30am, probably around 6am, but I can't be sure. We have done a 7am EMH and caught the bus before 6:30am, maybe around 6:15am, but I don't think it was the first bus. Having said that, I don't know if I would rely upon the bus for FOP at rope drop. You might want to drive or Uber/Lyft.

I was thinking about the expected crowds that early, compared to a normal EMH of 8a..... most post or data is related to the 9a normal time. I would think, I may be wrong, but the 7a won't be as popular and crowds may not be as bad.

The earlier the better. With the popularity of FoP though, you'd still want to get to the park an hour prior even for a 7am opening

I think this is probably true, but they're still going to build, and nearly everyone coming that early is headed to FOP first.

We had a 7 am EMH on our recent trip. We had FOP FPs, so we were headed to Na'vi and didn't rush--arrived around 7:30 I think? Na'vi was just a bit slower than walk on at that point. I don't recall exactly, but FOP was certainly over an hour by then--maybe 105 minutes? Because I wasn't there right at RD I can't say what the crowds were like getting in, though. I think @Eccle may have RD'd FOP that same day and might be able to shed more light?

They wouldn't have an EMH and not have a bus running early enough to get the guests there. So of course there will be a bus running that early. If you can get on the very first bus you'll be good. The big problem is, how do you get yourself to the bus stop in time for the very first bus of the day, when there is no way to know exactly what time the first bus will come to your bus stop. Well, the best way is to get out there about 5:45 AM and wait. I don't know about you but the last thing I want to do that early in the morning is spend an unknown length of time waiting on a bus. Not when I can spend less than $10 to ride Uber in about 20 min, with only about a 5 min wait. Time is precious to me in the mornings at Disney, since less time waiting for a bus means more time sleeping. I gladly pay $10 (or more) to sleep another 30, 45 min instead of waiting for a bus. We've gotten to where we almost always take Uber for park opening now, simply because I am in control of my wait time, or at least much more in control.

We did AK RD three times during our Christmas trip. For the 8AM EMH, we woke up at 5:45AM and were at the Contemporary bus stop at 6:15AM. I think the bus arrived around 6:35AM and we got there just before 7AM, just as everyone recommends.

For the 7AM EMH, we woke up at 4:45AM and were out the door at 5:15AM. There was no bus by 5:35AM, so we called an Uber. Minnie Vans don't start until 6:30AM.

The trick we learned from the video below is to look at the bus arrival board. As soon as you see a time and see it "iterating" on an arrival time, then you know the AK bus is on its way.

AK RD is great. They usually open FoP a bit early and you can finish FoP and NRJ about 15 minutes after park opening.
