i believe that it was changed when the remix version came out, correct me if im wrong lol

That is right, the old version you needed 280,000 which was even harder than getting 7500 now...I was very close (as in 275,000) and when remixed came out, it started at 4500. It went up to 5,500 and just boosted up again since you can now get another/one.
